over all this is a great shoe; however, I rate it a 4 because of the following - wish for slightly larger lugs for a little more grip - Shoe is slightly too cushiony for my taste and feels tall

I love the fit, so far a great trail shoe. I wish this was just a little more cushion but not much more.

Disclaimer: I have VERY narrow feet. Usually hard to find trail shoes that fit well.
That said... Love these. They feel long and narrow, great fit for me. Certainly less cushioned and bouncy than the Caldera, but faster. I wouldn't want to take these much further than 10K. Lugs aren't super aggressive but perfect for dry, rocky TX hill country.

Love the grip and weight of this shoe. I've hit the trails a couple times in my new catamounts, running over loose rocks, mud, and roots. I would give this shoe 4 stars if the shoe was a little higher around the ankle and heel areas. I would love to have a little more compression (like a neoprene sock) around the sides and back of the shoe.

Good outdoor shoe. Not quite as cushy as the Glycerins. Probably by design. Hoping the hold up well to wear and tear.

I really liked this shoe, just what I was looking for, but if you have a wide foot, they just won't work.

Great shoe overall. A little more stiff which has taken a few runs to get use to but the support and look are really nice!

Returned with regret: both my orthotics technician and I agreed that the narrow footbed, limited opening, and tongue sides attached to the interior of the shoe made this a non-starter for someone with a high (arthritic) arch and orthotic inserts. The weight, breathable material, sole, and appearance are very appealing -- just not compatible with a comfortable fit.

So far a little more than 60 miles on them and they are good, not great. I have been looking for a trail version of the Pureflow and these are close (the Divide is closer and probably a little better overall). The heel does not wrap and stay secure like a Pureflow. The shoe is fast but only on light trails. The grip is not there for steep climbs with loose footing. Also not really enough cushion to bomb down steep declines. My feet are more tender using these than other trail shoes on a 2 mile 1000 ft drop at a fast pace. They are very good on longer runs with not much climbing though as they are nice and light and have a wide toe box. I do wish they came in a wide though. I got the yellow/dirt color version and like the look. The rock plate does it's job. A touch more cushion or Pureflow like heel design along with a little deeper, stickier lugs on the next version will have me coming back.

The fit was great... comfortable sole and a nice shoe all around. However, the width at the arch of my foot is crazy narrow. I dont know anyone who has a arch that narrow. I have a small foot for a guy 10.5 US size and a pretty narrow foot. I couldnt even walk around in these on the carpet without feeling the pinch.

Great trail shoe. My first run in them they were a little tight across the ball of my foot but loosened up during the run and felt great once they got a few miles on them. Very cushioned and still had a good feel for the trail. I have been running for several years in the Pure Grit and the Catamount felt similar as far as trail feel. Overall a really good trail shoe, light in weight and just the right amount of cushioning.

Love this shoe so much. Very comfortable and looks super cool. I get lots of compliments. I have the white. My only issue is that when it gets dirty, it's hard to get clean again. I took that gamble going in however. Other than that, love this shoe a lot.

Great fit and finish, and perfect for your highest tempo, but the flat outsole has no rocker for a moderate pace roll-through. Love the cushion and new colorway!

This shoe would be an easy 5-star if it wasn't for the rock plate. With the amount of cushioning and with the outsole that it has, the rock plate isn't needed. I love everything else about these shoes, especially the gusseted tongue and lace garage, alongside of the fit and responsiveness and lightness.

I am 50 miles in on the shoe and very pleased. There is more cushion then I would have expected from my previous brooks shoes (cascadia 12 / 13). Shoe took 2 runs to break in, first few runs they felt a bit chaffing, but now are great.
I would have preferred a darker color scheme, but really dig the gum rubber colored soles.

I'm a big fan of Brooks shoes in general. I've been waiting for them to come out with a new trail shoes for a while as I found the Cascadia to be too stiff for my liking. This shoe seemed to be the ticket. On the positive side, I finished my first 11 mi trail run in this shoe and basically didn't even notice it! It does exactly what it should on most trails, and had just the right amount of cushion. On the negative, when I wore this on technical rocky trails it didn't feel robust enough. The upper was flimsy, with not enough heel support or a good toe-guard. In fairness it is marketed as a 'speed' trail shoe, so I'm not holding it against the shoe. I'll wear this for smooth trails, but I'm waiting for Brooks to release the same midsole, with the upper of the Cascadia for an all-conditions trail shoe.

A good first impression is important and these did not disappoint. The rock shield kept my feet happy during and after the first 10 miles. They do arrive white but will be brown 15 min from the car. Might hit them with a rattle can after a few more miles.

Solid footing with nice cushioned ride. Snug yet comfortable and very stable. Surprised the insoles aren't removable but they are thin enough so as to not interfere with the fit when I install my orthotic liners. Strikingly odd for a trail shoe to be designed in white, but time will tell.

About 30 miles into the journey, I love the shoe! Wish it came in other colors.
Only odd thing is the extreme traction can stress your ankle on uneven terrain.
