The stitching that reinforces shoe across the top of the foot, it’s just below the bottom lace, is too tight. There’s no give and digs into the top of my foot. I don’t think the size is too small because the length and width are fine. It’s just the top portion there and it can’t be loosened up so I’m returning.

I read the reviews of what was being said so I went up a size. I normally wear a 9.5 M but I went up to a 10 the shoe was so snug when I put it on my foot. I tried to wear around for a few minutes they had to come off. Sending back so disappointed.

Major changes since the 16. The tongue is held on both sides by a wide elastic band. Uncomfortable and makes it hard to adjust tightness. Not nearly as responsive.

So disappointed. I've been satisfied wearing the Mizuno Wave Inspire Waveknit for the last two years and reordered without hesitation. The new pair had an abnormal tightness across the top of the right foot, just below the bottom lace. Assumed it was a flaw and returned. Ordered three more pairs of the same shoe to try - all size 9, different colors, some Waveknit some not. All three had the same tight stitching across the top of the right foot. Returned all and purchased the Asics GT 2000 9.

As mentioned by others, these felt narrower than previous Wave Inspire models. Plenty long but too tight

I own two pairs of Inspire 16s, and have been a Mizuno runner for several years. These have an inside arch that is much higher than I have ever seen, and it HURTs. I wore them around the house and was uncomfortable. I cannot imagine running in these.

This is a follow up review. I originally wrote about a seam issue … The back of the shoe was torture on the Achilles’ tendons- after walking for miles , (after training for miles then walking a marathon) they caused Achilles tendinitis- which I’ve never had before. ( not any foot injury for that matter) After not wearing this model for many months, and a few weeks of PT, I’m healed… but for a test, I recently compared to my Hokas and Brooks- After wearing the wave 16 around the house for about an hour, I felt an inkling of pain and took them off immediately. The older model was much softer around the ankle/ heel. Sad that a shoe caused Achilles tendinitis ?…

Could not even get my foot into the shoe! So insanely narrow...even with the laces all the way out....good luck!

I've purchased several pairs of the Wave Inspire previously. They were really comfortable. This new model is very tight on my foot across the top. Even worse, after more than 3 months of wearing them, they squeak like crazy!

(please note for Zappos shoppers: I always buy a full size larger that my normal shoe size in Minuzo). I LOVE Mizunos. After trying several running shoes over the years, Mizunos are the perfect walking/running shoes. I actually used them on a 20 mile walk - literally around the island of Manhattan (the entire course is actually 32). This particular pair was torture. It had to do with a thick seam issue near the new attached tongue thing, where it rubbed incessantly across the bone below the big toe. I didn't feel it at first, as during the walk, it was cold, wet and rained all day. My feet were cold soaked and numb. Finally, the torture began. I had to call an Uber for the ride back, ending the 32 mile walk at 20 miles. When I arrived back at the hotel, took off the left shoe, I had a dark red and purple bruise, and the pain along with it. Please please, Mizuno, don't ruin a fabulous thing. If it aint broke, don't fix it. New tech is always great - just be aware of quality control in the seaming and or stretchy tongue attachment thing.

This is the SECOND TIME Zappos has sent the wrong size. I ordered a size 12 TWICE and received a size 11 TWICE. There is something wrong here.
