I am 5 ft 9 in with very athletic thighs, and I feel like standard 4-inch shorts are so short for my legs. But these 7 inch shorts are a PERFECT length for tall girls like me. However, these still don't fit my legs perfectly; they bunch up and don't sit flat on my thighs, and pucker up in the front. But even then, they are lightweight shorts that I love and will wear.

The length is perfect. Most shorts ride up but these lay perfectly even after a few miles. Nice and cool with good pockets. Only improvement would be a zipper on the phone pocket. Still great shorts.

I have the same Brooks Chaser 7" Shorts purchase a few years ago and they fit great, this pair must have been labeled incorrectly as a M but fits like a S

I have many pairs of the Chaser 7" short in all different colors and all size medium. Unfortunately, it seems that the sizing has changed. The recent black shorts I ordered in my usual size medium do not fit the same as my others and returned them. I ordered the large and they are too big.

Very comfortable shorts but no good place to hold a phone. The back pocket barely fits my Iphone and flaps around at the back and is not stable. I am keeping them but will need to use my arm phone holder.

The pocket in back need a zip. Where it is because pants have breath holes when you try to reach into pocket half the time you are reaching down your pants;) also zip to keep stuff im pocket do doesn't fall out

Only three stars for me because despite the longer length, the legs still bunched up between my thighs. Otherwise, it's a perfectly well made pair of shorts. I usually run in tights-style shorts to avoid the bunching up problem. These seemed like they'd be long enough to stay put, but no luck. Back to short tights for me.

I love the length and the feel of the material. However, the pockets aren't functional for long runs and I can't imagine who has a phone in a case that fits that pocket. I bought these based on reviews that said they don't ride up. They definitely rode up. I'll wear these for walks or cross-training.

I am normally a size 4/small. The small Chaser short underpants do not cover my bottom, and the mediums are way too big. Need to make underwear in the small short larger in bottom!

I loved how they felt and looked on. The material is great. However when I tried running they crept up my thighs so fast. I cannot wear these for even .1 mile without them creeping all the way up into the crotch. So sad because I REALLY wanted these adorable shorts to work!

The material is really nice and soft, but the cut is weird. It bunches above my legs with a pouch. It is fine for working out because it is super flexible, but not for wearing anywhere other than the gym.

Lovely colors, great fabric, and great fit. The only thing I didn?t like was the shaping of the hem. The longer inseam gave it an odd look. I rehemmed them and am much happier.

They do ride up and I hate the sewn in lining. I do like the length though. Not everyone wants to shorts that your butt hangs out of.

I really wanted these to work but the thighs are just too small in comparison to the waist. In a medium the waist is too big and in a small the thighs are too small. Too bad because I liked the design.

Ride up when I run. I did keep them because they fit well and are very comfortable.

Fabric has interestingly soft feel. Love that the length could prevent thigh chafing, but the size I ordered ended up too small, so the fabric is riding up on my thighs anyway. (I'm keeping this size knowing that I'll lose weight eventually--getting back in shape after a long illness.) I wish the pockets had zipper closure.

Lightweight and comfortable. However, the side pockets not deep enough for my phone and the back pocket at the waist is not nearly big enough for a phone. Not a fan of the open air ?flaps? in back. Didn?t see them in the description.

I do love the look, feel and breathability of these shorts, however, after wearing and laundering them only 3x, the elastic on the inner pantie separated from the fabric. It just doesn't hold up.

It didn't fit the way I hoped. I got size M, since I wear running leggings in perhaps the that size. This shorts looked huge on me. I looked like I was wearing man's boxers! I had to return them. I didn't try to order smaller size afraid that perhaps it's just not the style for my body type. I'll stick with 7" compression shorts.

These shorts are great - but even though I order the exact same ones they fit different. I have 4 of these all large and 2 are different then the 2 others

I was hopeful when I saw these shorts. They fit like a dream - the waistband is comfortable and doesn't cause muffin top. My phone fit in the back pocket and my key fob in the front pocket. The 7" length is perfect. I'm 49 and have been on the hunt for modest running shorts since Brooks discontinued the Greenlight line I've been wearing for years. The first mile at a warm-up pace was fantastic and I actually thought I'd found shorts! But in the second mile when I hit 8 minute paces, they started riding up terribly, which then caused the pockets to pooch out on the sides, and the sweater I got, the more the material plastered to my legs. It was uncomfortable and unflattering. Sadly, they're going back. I miss my Greenlight shorts and capris!

I wanted to love these shorts, but the fabric bunches up around the front pockets making these shorts unflattering. I will be returning them.

Meh, I did not like the liner or the bunching in the middle. I returned them. I was looking for a similar pair to my long shorts I bought a few years ago- bummed brooks no longer makes them.

Did not like the overall fit of the chaser short. I was trying different lengths because I do NOT like the really short shorts (3', 2.5"). These gathered on inside of thighs, and I knew there was no way they'd be comfortable on a run. I'd be adjusting the entire time.

Not sure what phone fits in that back pocket bit my iPhone XS does not fit.
