I've worn Sherpa shorts for years and really enjoyed them. The most recent changes to the lining (about a year ago) were a step backwards. I took a chance on these new versions and am completely happy. The great feel is back. I wasn't sure about the phone pocket on the side, but it integrates into the lining for minimal bounce. Side pockets are much more useful now too. Much improved and back to my go-to running shorts.

Brooks nailed the redesign on the liner! The previous model felt loose and didn't keep things secure...not this update. I got them this morning and took them for a 5 mile run. They're stinking awesome (and they do stink...but that's what the washing machine is for).

Compression is just right, not too tight. Convenient pockets- I used the one with the zipper for my car key fob in my race last weekend.

Love the fit and the amount of pockets

These shorts are lightweight and comfortable but calling them Sherpa shorts is a misnomer. These shorts have one real pocket that is for a cell phone. The other "pockets" are elastic topped shallow holders that one would never put anything of value in because it would likely fall out. This is the worst pocket design I have ever seen on a pair of running shorts.

I love the iphone pocket, these are race day pace day running shorts!

Best shorts especially for long runs like a marathon. My go to always. Liner perfect for preventing chafing. Nice pockets for holding gels and gummies lightweight and comfortable.

Great fit and very comfortable!

I have tried several running shorts looking for the right pair and finally I found the Sherpa 7" 2 in 1. Liner is great, shorts are very comfortable, pockets are spot on for carrying gels, snacks, key, etc. Will use them for my upcoming marathon as I don't want to carry a vest or belt for my gels. I found the 7" fit more like a 5 or 6" which is exactly what I wanted. I have also purchased the 5" style but those crept up a bit higher than what I wanted.

My husband loves these shorts! Light weight and the right length!

I bought these for my husband, who runs regularly in preparation for a marathon. It's been so sad seeing him come home from long runs in the late summer, when hot weather results in excessive sweating and wet clothes result in serious chafing. It seemed no matter what chafe-avoiding salves and balms he used, he'd have chafing somewhere. But he's done 3 runs now in these new shorts and no chafing at all. Amazing.

It fits perfectly, is comfortable, and I like the pockets. I dont worry that my drivers license or car key will fall out.

The shorts are incredibly comfortable, just right in most respects. The prominent zipper on the right side is somewhat annoying, often catches against the back of my hand unless I keep my arms tucked in higher than my usual. Modify or eliminate the zipper and the shorts are perfect.

I love them. They are so comfortable, that you forget that you have them on. They are super light weight and dry quickly after a run.

Brooks makes the best running shorts. The compression shorts are key - these don't squeeze the bejeezus out of my legs and my boys. They're... lighter? Looser? I'm not sure the best way to describe them, but they feel amazing. Be careful with the sizing! I'm normally a medium for shorts, but not here. I'm about 5' 9, 155 lb, and the Small fits me like a glove. The phone pocket is fantastic on this model - you can run with your phone and it won't feel awkward. I'm serious - as an anti-phone runner, this has opened up doors to run with podcasts and audiobooks without trying to download them to my watch. I travel pretty light when I'm not running (phone and key, that's it), so I can wear these around town without any issues. Now for my complaint - I need one more pocket. The phone pocket and the gel pockets that wrap around the sides are great. However, I'm a huge fan of the dedicated key pocket, and that's nowhere to be found here. They have a key hoop on the inside of the left gel pocket, but... nah. If I had a day in the Brooks design studio, I would add a pocket on the inside of the compression shorts... on the left hip... something around the size of a credit card, maybe a bit smaller. If they had that.... I'd buy 5 pairs and never wear another short again for anything. So why four stars

Good quality, but the leggings pull the shorts down as you run. Not ideal for any distance running.

These are pretty nice. Have had older versions. Some redesign. I can't imagine every actually using the phone pocket. Big heavy thing klunking against your leg. But the waist level pockets are much improved, great for goo, keys, etc.

My favorite thing about these shorts is the sheer amount of pockets. They are perfect for carrying goos, your key (the shorts have a very handy key ring), or your phone on long runs. They feel great during the run and the inner lining is quite comfortable. I got the perfect size by using the sizing guide on Brooks as well as the tool where you answer multiple questions about your pants size. I would highly recommend these shorts and plan to buy more of them in the future.

Theyre very comfy, but theyre not my favorite. I might be old fashioned but I dont like the pocket setup. Its awkward to get my phone in the pocket that can kind of fit it and I just dont have enough accessories for the little pockets along the waistband.

Would like the compression to be a little more snug around the groin. And the waistband looks great but is a bit thick. But good storage, shorts themselves are light, and they look great

I love them! The 7 length is perfect. The appropriately snug inner short is super comfy. There is absolutely no rubbing/chaffing. The outer lightweight short is great. The no bounce zipper pocket is great. I still carry my iPhone 11 and it fits great. I cant even tell Im carrying it. A bigger phone may not fit. I have not used the other pockets but they seem big enough for whatever nutrition item youd need to bring.

I loved these running shorts. Extremely happy with the color and look. As a 6'2" 195 lb male runner who usually wears a large, I had to return my large and replace it with a medium. The phone pocket is effective, but cause the waistband to fall while running. Sizing down helped this problem.

These shorts are great for my husband! The pocket means he no longer needs to use a running belt. And the pocket doesnt bounce around. The shorts are comfortable and fit wellexactly what we were looking for.

Pros: Pockets, including a phone pocket that is secure. Light material Good movement Cons: The liner chafes sensitive areas which is a deal breaker unless one wears underwear beneath the liner.
