Did the design change on these? I have on from a couple years ago and it has a black rubber tip for the mouth piece. All of thee look like just the molded plastic. Bring back the older design or have it avail.

The thought of having to clean this lid, mixed reviews, and the lack of a real handle caused me to keep the original screw top for my 40oz bottle. Recently I purchased a 64oz and didn't want to be tipping it up to my face, so I didn't have much of a choice but to purchase a straw lid. I don't have any issues with not being able to get liquid like others. That part works seamlessly. My main complaint is the lack of a handle. Have the employees at Hydro Flask carried a 64oz bottle full of ice water with one finger through the loop on this lid?! I carry this to and from work daily, as my office doesn't have an ice machine. I wouldn't describe it as comfortable... So as far as functionality, mine does what it says it should, but in my opinion, it's not designed to work well with all bottles.

I bought the cap a few months ago and I still love it. But, I dropped it from a foot off the ground and the cap cracked.

Bought a couple of these lids so I could use water bottles with one hand while hiking. Unfortunately, the ends of the straws crack, allowing the straw to either fall off the lid or allow air in, which reduces suction. I have since replaced the straws with soft, clear vinyl tubing, which seals better and won't crack.

I have purchased several flasks and used them as gifts as well as my own collection. I always supply these lids with them, but have had to replace several due to multiple issues. The most common issue is the rubber tip getting cracked and disintegrating. I am now ordering a new replacement after one of the lids quit locking into the flask completely, which turned out to be a thread issue on the lid. As everyone has mentioned, should be able to order a bag of replacement rubber tips instead of buying a whole new lid.

I bought this lid 6-8 months ago and i LOVE the straw option. It is so convenient BUT its starting to fail... and its driving me nuts. There is a loss of suction so when sipping its really loud and not much water comes up. I have checked the straw attachment and the straw itself and it seems to be a problem with the actual mouth piece not properly lining up anymore so air is getting in somewhere inside the lid. Please work on a fix, I would buy a new one but don't trust that the same design will hold up!

When I first purchased the straw I was in love. After a few weeks there was a pressure issue and just became obnoxious & I cannot seem to fix it.

Overall I love my hydrofask and was thrilled to find the wide mouth straw lid and it worked great at first but now it is leaks everywhere if it tips over regardless if it is closed or not. Would give 5 stars if it didn't leak.

Love the water bottle but the straw gets grimey quickly (I've had to go through 2 - and yes I wash them every night!) and the cap is very hard to wash (lots of nooks and crannies. Over a period of about a month the cap no longer has good suction (yes, the straw is attached tightly and no it doesn't have any holes in it). It makes funny noises when you try to get water through it and wiggles around. They genuinely need a better option for people that carry around their water ALL day long and can't keep flipping the flip lid top open all day (their other coffee flip type lid) or unscrewing a cap and tipping a huge 40oz bottle up.

Love it, great convenient apart from the rubber mouthpiece. Mine, like others has deteriorated beyond usefulness. As another reviewer suggested and I wholeheartedly agree, make replaceable mouthpieces! It disturbs me quite a bit that this is just another piece of plastic headed into the waste stream (it is not marked recyclable).

I bought this lid about 3 months ago. Occasionally it does need to be cleaned. I found out (the hard way) that there are a few small parts that are EASY to loose and the only way to replace them is to buy a new lid. Lid works great, just cleaning the build up of crud can dislodge the little bits and down the drain they go. :/

I too have suffered the nasty gummy mouthpiece on the straw lid. My son was biting it some when sharing my water, but I also think that having lip balm (or lip gloss, or lipstick) on while drinking from it gradually compromised the integrity of the rubber. It makes sense from a chemistry standpoint. Perhaps a silicon tip would be a better material. Resistant to heat, Chapstick and chewing.

I wanted something to use with my Hydro Flask that would allow me to sip my water easier. The flip top that I purchased separately doesn't allow the water to flow freely (I have heard this is on purpose and generally made for drinking coffee with therefore it restrict getting burned by very hot beverages). I purchased this item and like that I can flip the tip and drink my water with a much better flow except for one nagging thing: the straws gives the water a plastic-y taste. I've washed them over and over yet cannot eliminate that taste.

This is one of the best accessories I've had for my hydroflask. I use it almost every day. However, after about 6 months of use the part I drink from has gotten very mushy and is falling apart. I only washed it on the top rack of the dishwasher and have not had anything besides water or herbal tea in the straw. Is this normal, or did I get a defective product? It looks disgusting.

My straw lid worked great for a couple of months when a bit of transparent plastic from the hinge fell off and it stopped sucking up water.

I received 2 wide mouth lid straws as Christmas gifts from my sister, 3 months ago. My daughters lid is incredibly temperamental and only allows water through the straw IF placed at a specific angle. Her lid leaks or 'puddles' if you will as well when standing upright. I've not had the same issues with mine. I also find it frustrating that every time I search the site for wide mouth straw lids, it's ALWAYS out of stock. Glad my sister was able to provide, just disappointed that one seems to be malfunctioning.

I bought this product to make it easier for my kids to drink from the water bottle. They both bit through the straw within minutes. I had to cut off the top of the straw. It still works but needs to be washed and soaked regularly because they get gunky quickly. The quality of the drinking straw needs to be addressed.

I love my hydro flask bottle. The only problem I have is that the straw lid grows mold on the mouthpiece. I replace my straw lids every 3 months. That seems like a big waste of money but the straw lid is the easiest way for me to drink from the bottle because I can hold it in one hand while I'm driving. I hope they fix the flaw on the straw lid because it's a great accessory otherwise.

I wasn't having any leak issues like some of the other users, but I did experience the whole cap just popping off. I was carrying my flask by the loop and the entire thing just popped off and my flask fell to the ground. I tightened it back on my flask and realized that, with not much pressure, I was able to just pull it off again.

It's worked great for the 8 or so months I've used it. However, the rubber tip has deteriorated and has made me want to buy a new one. After seeing other reviews on here, I'm now thinking I won't buy another-I'm just going to rip off the rubber tip and sip from the hard plastic. Won't be buying another unless they fix the rubber tip issue.

After using the straw for approximately six months, i am seeing mold grow on the tip of the straw. You can wipe it away but it just comes back the next day because its constantly wet. Not sure if warranty would cover it, but im assuming some sort of coating on the straw wore out which is why the mold is only showing up now, six months after purchase. It is psychological thing where every time you drink from the straw you might be swallowing mold. Other than that, I have been really satisfied with the straw lid. I am now looking to purchase a new lid and just so happened to run into these reviews with the same mold problem. Hope this helps.

I love the bottle but I am on my second straw lid and it has developed the dreaded black spots. I thought maybe they had addressed this issue but apparently not. The flip top lid seems to have another set of issues as well, plus it does not have a finger loop. Keep working on this, Hydroflask. I know you will figure out a lid that is as good as your bottle.

Love hydro flask, have 3 of them and just purchased 4 for christmas presents. The straw lid needs some improvement though. Its not as durable as other hydro flask products because the flip top rubber isn't hard enough. Also, it often doesn't fit tight right away and needs to "break in" before it seals. After about a week, it will fit tight though.

I've had my straw lid for 6 months and it works great. It recently split on the seam and needs to be replaced already which surprises me. I have 2 bottles and use the straw lid on one and a long straw from 7-Eleven with the flip top lid.

I want to start by saying I absolutely LOVE my hydro flask! The straw lid makes this great product even more convenient however, the mold that develops on the mouth piece is not appealing. Ive been through 3 lids so far in the last year because of this. I do make sure to clean my lid on a regular basis but it does not seem to help the development of these black spots. Maybe just a regular plastic mouth piece would do on these lids?
