First, I love J&M. Makes up a ton of my closet. Over the past two years I have purchased 6 of these polos. Each and every one of them after about 6-9 months gets holes on either side the placard at the base of the buttons. It's a flaw in the design of the shirts. I am not hard on my shirts as I work in an office. I reached out to customer service to point out the flaw as well and was disappointed that the only response was that if it would have happened within 60 days they would have exchanged them. I would avoid this particular polo.

I have bought both the short and long sleeve versions of these and they are great until you wash them once, then you get a little hole in the button line against the seam and it is ruined and ready for garbage. Perhaps this is why they are buy 2 for 1...

I ordered 10+ of these shirts and after only 1-3 washes with hang drying the collar fabric is ripping/shredding apart.

I don't know who designed this shirt, but he deserves to be fired. This shirt is too baggy and feels like a nightshirt, and the sleeve openings are too wide and don't fit naturally on your biceps. But the absolute worst feature is a horizontal seam in the fabric that runs across your shoulder blades on the back of the shirt. It's the most uncomfortable, distracting, and annoying feature I've ever encountered in a polo shirt. Perhaps there's a reason why literally no other clothing manufacturer on Earth makes polo shirts this way. Save your money and take your business elsewhere.

The cut on the bottom half of polo too wide not very well designed. I have purchased better designed clothes from other on line retailers.

I've purchased two sets of these shirts over the last couple of summers. I would like to rate them 5 stars, because their fit, comfort, and style are great. But they are ridiculously fragile. They tear at the neck in back and button placket in front after less than 20 wearings and washings. And I am not hard on my clothes. These are so delicate that you can count the cost per time worn, and I'd estimate it at $3.00 or more. This is not a man's shirt -- it's a blouse. Look elsewhere.

This shirt is fine if you have a VERY short body, and narrow shoulders.

the neck seemed to fray after one washing. I have purchased lots of stuff from JM over the years. I will wear one more time and may end up taking it back

I had issues with the collar starting to wear through (I don't have a beard and shave daily). I contacted J&M and they replaced my shirts (bought all but two colors as I loved the shirt when I tried it on in the store). My new shirts arrived and I started wearing them again this year. Not 3-4 wears in and the collar are starting to wear through. I use the gentle cycle when washing and only wash these shirts together by themselves. J&M replaced all of them at no charge at the end of last season and the new ones are still doing the same (see pic). I love the shirts, but they don't hold up.

I bought 6 last year and they fit perfectly. I went four more this year and they're too big. I returned all four. The collar frays when it's washed. I even hand wash them and they still fray. I'll look for another brand.

I am in pretty good shape, I frequently work out. This shirt hangs like a dress although the sales associate insisted this was my size. Kinda hangs like it has no structure and the body was far too long. Might be good for portlier men. I wont buy from them again, unfortunately.

I love the design and feel of this shirt, but the collar will fray after a couple times worn. I did return the shirt in exchange for a new one, thinking that I must have received a defect, but its happening to the new shirt as well. I will be returning this shirt for a refund.

Have several Vintage Slub Polo in various colors and wore each at lease once and noticed they are coming apart at bottom of button seam. Quite disappointed in Johnston&Murphy because I have never had a problem with their shoes and I have had some of them for many years.

I purchased multiple colors of this shirt and in a few times of wear the collar on every shirt has pilled up.

They fit and look great. However fabric catches easily on tables and seat belt cloth, and more; and the fabric pulls through. Two of the four shirts are already ruined. Also I find they don't breathe like cotton in warm weather. Shirts behave like banlon shirts in the 60's.
