I use the Percolator at least 2 times a day when at home to brew the Perfect Coffee. when outdoors, i use it fully filled over a Gas operaded small Cooker or Alcohol Burner... there's the First Problem with the Percolator... it is too tall - the flame Ford mit Heat the Bottom of the Percolator... moving a little to the Side is Not possible... Problem no. 2 is the Plastic Knob in the lid- First Time isr in coals ( Not Fire) melted the Knob Away and now it is Impossible to loosen it a little to get air refilled while pooring the coffee out... 3rd Problem is the welding on the lid... oh became Loose and i don't want to send it to the Dealer because it takes a lot of Time from Germany... at least 3 weeks without Coffee ...

This percolator looks great at the campsite. It's great for 2-3 cups of coffee, but if you have a big crowd, it takes a couple of brews to get everyone served. Other than that worked pretty well and coffee tasted good. Also works great on the stovetop.

A nice percolator for the camper stove top but the somewhat small diameter and tall height make it a bit tippy when used on my backpacking MSR gas burner.

I've only used it to heat water on a camp stove so far, and it functions okay. However, the lid hinge just has a couple spot welds holding it and within the first few uses it popped off. It doesn't necessarily make it unusable, but I'm disappointed considering the supposed quality of the brand's products. I put in a warranty claim, so hopefully they stand behind their products as stated.

The quality and design of the carafe is great but the mesh filter allows way too many coffee grounds to pass by. That area could use some improvements.

There are several key things wrong in the design of this coffee pot (severe enough that it doesn't deserve to be called a percolator). The drip disperser doesn't fit tightly around the riser tube so water just runs back down the center of the drip disperser making the drip disperser superfluous. The basket does not fit tightly around the riser tube so coffee grounds can escape from the basket. The basket diameter could have been considerably larger to make the basket stay centered in the pot and so that there is a better surface area to depth ratio for the grounds basket. The relief above the grounds basket should be deeper to maintain a suitable head of liquid above the grounds. The hinge lid is unimaginable primitive. The pot was designed by somebody who does not have a clue how a percolator works and Stanley should be ashamed.

Not that good; the volume markings are way off, the filter basket needs smaller holes or a fine metal screen insert, the rubber handle thing is a joke. Need to give credit for the over all construction tho.

Easy to tip over. Second use and the hinge got separated from the lid

I've used a few percolators over the years but I will have to admit this is the worst one I've ever used. I expected from Stanley as a company. The top broke off after 1 use

Trying to return this. Have been waiting for a return authorization for nearly two weeks. The build quality is not how the product is described.

Be prepared to spend more money on another company's product in order to make this work right!! I've been using a french press for over 15 years. I really wish this was a better product but it just isn't. It is great at keeping the coffee hot but it just won't keep the grounds out. The filter and spring supporting it are just to weak. It either needs a rubber silicone base system or it needs to be strengthened. I had to purchase a filter and spring from Bodum to make this thing work. For the amount of money spent on this thing you'd think it would work better.

The filter is terrible. It's a shame because the container shows the typical Stanley quality, but the filter/lid does not keep the coffee grains from the liquid, no matter how carefully and slowly you may try. I have purchased and used many French press coffee makers before, and this is the worst in terms of its performance.

Wow, pretty junky product for the price! The plunger mechanism was not screwed securely together, and when it is it is crooked at the base. It only has one screen (and does NOT come with a spare), unlike just about every other product I shopped in comparison. So it does a terrible job of filtering out grounds. I've been "pressing" for decades, do it's not user error. Might be acceptable if there was a secondary screen at the pour spout, but there isn't. And for a campware product, you'd expect it to at least be able to hold up to getting knocked around or even dropped on the ground at some point. I don't think it would hold up, feels cheap. Wish I could still find the GSI version we have enjoyed for years, and want a larger volume product. Guess I'll just buy another really pretty stainless double-walled one and not worry about scratching or damaging it. Whoever doesn't get up early enough on the camp/raft trip will get stuck using this shoddy one, LOL!

I have tried 3 times since purchasing. No matter how I have ground my coffee I end up with grinds in my coffee. I have used a french press for years and can't get this one to make a decent pot of coffee. I feel like the screen and the base are not tight fitting.

Looks great and the idea is attractive (64 oz hot coffee!). But the filter mesh system is weak (literally not strong enough to prevent large amounts of course coffee grounds into the receiving vessel). Stiffer mesh and a stronger brace should help with that, in fact just reinforce all the internal plunge/filter pieces and this item could be a winner.

My wife bought this without my knowledge. Very well made product with terrible design. For a product designed to be used on adventures I can assure you it is too tall and is very tippy. Also, the base is tapered IN making it even more tippy while at the same time makes it less effective for transferring heat. The base should be flared out. I am surprised and disappointed that a quality company like Stanleybwould produce such a product. ( my wife chose it because she trusted the name)

Just bought it today and already where the handle and top are spot welded have come undone. First time I had a problem with their products. Will be seeing if I can get a replacement.
