Irritated to see Stanley's responses to this horrible pour thru lid, trying to say it's because people are doing it wrong ...well I assure you in the three years I have owned this thing I have not ever been able to get it not to spill everywhere when pouring . It's not a "wicked design" it's a piece of garbage that has caused spills over and over again. I literally have to pull over hang the thermos out my window to pour a cup so it doesn't get everywhere I am not an idiot that doesn't understand how the lid works , I get it, turn it just far enough to get coffee to pour, right , not hard to do, it still spills out under the lid and dribbles everywhere . Should Be recalled , can't even replace with a standard lid , it's garbage.

Bought my 1.4 quart from a store and it leaked between the pour through cap and bottle when pouring. I received a replacement cap that didn't fix the issue. I then received a complete replacement bottle from Stanley and that one leaked as well. Stanley was going to send me a 3rd 1.4 at bottle that I refused to accept, I did however offer to pay the additional cost to upgrade to a Master Vacuum 1.4 that I know has a different cap, but was told they would not up grade . . only down grade, so I received a 1.1 qt. classic. This is not what I wanted.
This 1.4 qt. is a very poor design and leaks when pouring almost all of the time no matter how the cap is adjusted. I would not recommend this particular bottle. It does keep coffee hot and does not leak when closed. Customer service tried.

I bought this thermos for hunting season. Those of you who hunt or work in the outdoors in the middle of winter can appreciate what a hot cup of coffee means! The first one lasted a day before I realized my drinks went from piping hot, to room temperature within 3 or 4 hours and ice cold in less than 8. Making use of the warranty, a replacement was sent out. "Great!" I thought. I tested it and sure enough, it kept hot water hot all day and all night. What happened next though, has me seriously concerned! I made hot chocolate for my son and I to share and 3 hours into our hunt, it was still hot.. by hour 5, though, the hot chocolate was putrid! I mean, full-on rancid!?! I thought the chocolate mix was bad so I bought a new pack, made it the next day and same deal. I cleaned it with baking soda and let it sit overnight repeating the process three times. The thermos has never been dropped, has no damage and the results are still the same. The linings are supposedly solid units but something is clearly contaminating the drink. I'm considering reaching out to my county extension office to have the liquid tested to find out what's going on.

Received replacement stopper, pours out the stopper & the lip of the thermos. No difference from the stopper it replaced. Best thing to do is remove stopper all the way to prevent pouring coffee on everything.

My grandkids bought on of the Model 10-01032-025 a year ago. It leaked and didn't keep coffee hot for very long. Stanley replaced it under warranty and sent me the exact model. This model also leaks out of the top and fails to keep coffee hot for 8 hours.

My dad bout his Stanley A-994B vacuum bottle 50 years ago. As a forestry firefighter, it's accompanied him on many brush fires over his career never failing to deliver hot coffee at the end of a long day. It took a beating and still works awesome. I expected the same performance from my new 1.4 qt bottle but unfortunately, it didn't match up. I did a comparison test with the new vs old bottle. I preheated both with hot water for several minutes, emptied and refilled with hot tap water, sealing them with the stopper. After 8 hours, the water in the 50 year old A-944B was as hot as when I filled it but the water in the new bottle was barely warm. I've repeated it twice to make sure I didn't make a mistake but sadly, the new one doesn't work. Based on so many other positive reviews of the new models, I'm hopeful the replacement bottle I'll receive under warranty will live up to the Stanley tradition. Fingers crossed!

The stopper leaks off pressure and leaks out coffee, but that is not the biggest problem. Coffee goes everywhere when you try to pour it into a cup. This new style stopper design does not work. I have a friend who has an older thermos with the other style stopper and it still works great.

I bought this thermos 10 week ago. First time in use I pre-warm it the night before and loaded it the following morning. Went to use it about 3 hours latter and it was cold. I have two older models with no problems but this one takes the cake. Not happy with this model.

Got a black vacuum bottle for Christmas in 09. Stopper broke right away and have never been able to find a replacement. Bought serve real over the years and never seem to find the right one. So I had to buy a whole new bottle. While washing the bottle out on day I tried to use the new bottle stopper in the old bottle. It was the wrong size. Both bottles have the same model number and are 1.1 L / 1.0 qt. but the old black bottle has a different size throat opening than the new one.

I got Stanley classic for my husband who loves going on hunting and shooting trips and needs supply of hot coffee for many hours. I bought Stanley as they claim for 24 hours maintenance of hot drink. But I was extremely disappointed that it couldn't keep the coffee warm for 3 hours. His old flask which is a bit leaky still keeps the coffee warm for 6 hours and Stanley is worse than that. I would not recommend Stanley to anyone. And I would like to send it back to the company.

I bought this earlier this week to keep coffee hot for an 8-10 hour shift. 6 Hours in and my coffee is barely above room temperature. I'm pretty sure the label said it would keep drinks hot or cold for 28 hours. Not a chance. Very disappointed.

Doesn't keep my coffee hot for more than a few hours after that it will stay lukewarm for for awhile but they say it will last 24 hours it doesn't. I have preheated with boiling water still don't make a difference. Bought a second one to see if the first one was defective same thing returned it. They use to be good my dad used one every day for years it had glass liner these do not. Do not buy this product if you do save your receipt so you can take it back.

I've had my 2011 model since I bought it new
And it only keeps coffee hot for a little over an hour. When I bought it would keep it warm for
Up to 3 hours. I didn't bother having it replaced because it's made in China.

Received this product as a golf tourney gift. Liked at first, kept coffee hot for a long time first 5 months, now it does not keep coffee hot more than 1 HOUR! Disappointing as this is my 5th bottle over the years and each did the same thing.

Learn to read date codes on the bottom of the thermos and get one of the older ones (1980's model) with the narrow mouth and dual O-ring stopper. They hold the heat better and don't leak like the new ones. Flea market or e-bay for older ones. Look for the word "Aladdin" above Stanley. Click on photo below, you want a thermos with that type of stopper (dual O-rings).

I bought a pmi made stanley thermos a couple years ago and it shares nothing in common with the old ala din thermos except (sort of) looks. Anyone who gave this product more than 2 stars must not be familiar with the pre 2002 Tennessee product. My dad gave me his old one, a 1982 model year and even going outdoors in a manitoba winter I pretty well had to pour the coffee or tea in at the temperature I could stand to drink it at because it would not cool off all day if it was too hot in the morning. It wasn't pretty tho, had been banged around a boat all its years, my dad crashed a motor cycle on a gravel road with it. It's beat. Bought a brand new one and drinking ice coffee by 10 am. I went on ebay this past month and found a 'brand new' aladin made in tennessee thermos - 1982 model year complete with original cardboard box and man what a great product. My dad bought a 'new' old one off eBay too. I still have the Chinese pmi one by the way and use it for cold water on cold days when I'm falling trees. Works as good as 4 liter milk jug for that but less volume and about 50 dollars more.

Purchased mine last week to replace a thermos I have owned for 20 years. The quality is immediately apparent. Very light and feels like a tin can. I of course prepared the thermos with hot water and on its first use at work only kept my coffee warm for 1 hour.
To be fair I prepared a fresh pot today at home.
Keeping the thermos inside I expected it to perform somewhat better. This time it kept the coffee hot for two hours.
Please do not purchase expecting the quality and reliability of the old Stanley thermos. You will be greatly disappointed.

I used my new Stanley for the first time to carry hot coffee on my trip. the first cup tasted so bad I threw out my coffee. seems to be coming from the stopper seal. trying now to contact Stanley to resolve the issue. I tried washing the stopper and seal in dishwasher made the dishwasher smell really bad for 3 next washings.

Used for fishing trips in boat. both units purchased 2008 and both failed in last twelve months. They where purchased in Big W Australia and had been working fine to this point, put the first one in the trash thinking I had a one off dud but the other failed soon after, noted that both were made in China
