I got these because I wanted a boot that could double as a snow boot and casual boot that wasn't as bulky as other snow specific boots. I am very pleased with the size of these boots and they are lighter than I anticipated. The grip well in the snow, and keep my feet nice and warm.

I'd seen several mountain biking forum users recommend the Fairbanks boot for winter trail riding so thought I'd give them a try. My wife and I have both had several products using the Omni-Heat system and like how effective it is. I'd tried other brands of boots to ride in the winter / snow conditions and they were always a bit bulky for my taste. These Fairbanks boots are a good combination of size, weight, grip and warmth for winter cycling. Not quite as comfortable fit as my other Columbia boots but I think they're fine for their intended use.

Had a recent cold snap of -30 for weeks on end. Bought these hoping it could hold of the cold a little bit. They have done much better than I expected. Comfortable to wear all day long.

The style, comfort, and function are all excellent. It runs too large in the toe box.

Keeps the feet warm- not hot. Breathable as promised. A little difficult to get on- there is no loop on the top heal to grab to assist with sliding your foot in- just a small leather tab- you have to wrestle the shoes on...I would expect this to get easier once the boot gets broken in...

They're comfortable, warm, stylish but overall are a tad short in all categories in comparison to a pair of UGG boots that I own. They deserve 4.5 stars

I purchased these for my rainy visit to Ireland. They kept my feet 100 % warm and covered and did not allow a drop of water in. I do wish the traction was better for the slick rocks. I was surprised they weren't as great in this respect given that these shoes were meant for the water. Overall still very pleased.

I love the boot in general but it would be much nicer if they would make the tongue thiner

My son loves these boots. He is a size 13 and they fit him well, he doesn't like to wear snow boots but these are very comfortable and he will wear them. I thought the cost was high for the type of fabric. I hope they hold up.

I had never tried this shoe on, so i purchased it just based on what i had read about it. Thankfully i was satisfied with it. its only been a couple weeks and so far i have liked it. I work on a golf course so the waterproof part has definitely held up so far. Its not as rugged as i thought it would be but that is fine with me because i wear the shoe all day and by the end of the day its still not too heavy. keeps your feet warm for sure but once the sun comes out your feet are quite toasty. I have also gone hiking with them and this part i absolutely love. light weight and comfortable makes 10 miles seem not to difficult. over all i like this product and would love to see what comes next

I have never bought a pair from Columbia and now i regret it. My feet run thin and most of the boots produced by other companies does not suit for me. I am not sure if all the models fit or not but these are made just for me as a thinfooted.

I spent quite some time researching a lightweight warm waterproof winter boot. Most winter boots are super bulky and very heavy. I wanted to find a lightweight winter boot that offered all the features of a heavy oversized boot with the Comforts of a lightweight sneaker. Columbia knocked it out of the park with their Fairbanks boot.Columbia did an amazing job on boot design ,color schemes, functionality, and overall comfort. I wore these boots in extremely wet conditions from tranchell downpour to a massive blizzard. The boots did not live up to their waterproof claim. I was forced to buy an aftermarket waterproof spray to keep my feet dry.
Overall it's a great Boots. But please stop advertising it's a waterproof boot when clearly It is not.

I bought these cause I'm currently deployed in Eastern Europe where the temperature ranges from 15-40 degrees and boy do these work! Biggest issue I have is they run a bit smaller. I'm normally a size 11 but these feel like a 10 or 10.5. so walking around in these boots for a prolonged period actually can be painful which makes them uncomfortable to wear at times. They are comfortable and would recommend sizing up half a size more.

Had this for about 2 weeks and i am very happy with these shoes.
They are very light and comfortable compared to the usual winter boots for men. They also looks like regular shoes so it goes well with clothes. They are not bulky which is a plus. They are also warmer than my snowboots so i am very comfortable when walking with them. Warm but not enough to make your feet sweat, even inside the office which is warm, you won't feel the diff. Waterproof indeed
AS for durability, that is something that needs to be tested by time . Hopefully they lasts 2 or more years with regular use.

Shoes are perfect.
But a couple of things that might be considered by consumers.
Ankles of shoes: yes it covers your ankle but also it does not give much flexibility. This can be felt while you hunker down or when you are taking a step. Maybe it is just on me but I felt like I have shackles on my ankles. Yes, I can loosen the laces but that time the tongues of the shoes come out and do not look good.
Omni-Heat technology - which in these shoes included - keeps your feet warm. But in 10-15 minutes you might feel your feet are getting sweat. If you deal with -25 degrees these shoes are made for it. And they are very light to wear.

I was tired of either wearing running sneakers in the winter and having my feet frozen or wearing clunky leather boots that are heavy that can be uncomfortable. It usually takes me 3 months of searching, ordering and returning something to find the right one but as soon as I seen these I just had that feeling that this was exactly what I am looking for with the sneaker look and insulation to keep my feet warm but also the technology to keep them dry... Granted it is the middle of summer but I know these will be my go to shoes at least 5 days a week depending on the temperature. I purchased the army looking boots and they are very stylish and modern looking. Will look awesome with jeans - I do not work for Columbia or some marketing team to boost ratings - I am a real person with serious expectations for these boots. I did not give them 5 starts because I am only reviewing this based on the look, feel and trying them on in the summer. But overall I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for what I was trying to accomplish. Also my feet are a little wide and these fit well - if you have Flintstone feet i would definitely still consider trying them.. Happy hunting my friends.

Well made but do not fit true. I ususally wear a size 9 wide boot, but they only had sixe 9.5 wide. Received them and they were incredibly too tight. Sent them back and ordered a size 10 wide and fit better. The wide width is not really wide, too. They need an extra wide to fit like a standard wide.
