I absolutely love this coat! Living in the Pacific Northwest it's always nice to have a piece you can throw on, and this thing is made to perform in odd weather conditions. The breathable side paneling also makes it way more practical than most synthetic or down coats for laying under a waterproof breathable jacket. It allows your body heat and moisture to actually escape the jacket, rather than being trapped in your mid layer. I will wear this thing on windy warm days, humid misty days, cold wet and rainy days. I have worn it hiking in a rain/hail storm, and last year wore it under my Gore-Tex Paclite shell at 0 degrees F. There isn't a time I think whether or not I should have it, and if its ever a question it's light enough to hide in my packs.

The Atom LT is ripper approved!! This piece offers year round comfort in various conditions. The Atom serves me well while skiing under my outer shell, or even as a stand alone around town. I cant believe how weather resistant it is!! The DWR is amazing and lasts a long time before it begins to wet out. And the wind resistance is INCREDIBLE!! I love the polar tec sides as well! All in all, this is a great intro piece to the brand, as well as a true die hard must have. Just bought my second!!

I bought this jacket on a bit of a whim (it's my first Arteryx piece) and I absolutely love it. I love it so much my boyfriend bought the same one (but the men's model, obviously). I spend a lot of time on the road, and I love how light the jacket is, how it packs easy, breaths, is warm and washes well. My Atom is black which is chique enough for me to wear for work, but I would love to have a brighter one too. I'm 5'5" and 125lbs and I bought a medium. I probably could have gotten away with a small but was more comfortable in the shoulders in the medium. I just bought a Beta LT (medium as well) and I love how the two coats layer. They'll make a great kit for AT skiing this winter too! I highly recommend this coat for, well, everyone.

Absolutely love this product. Live in CO and use it year round. Great all around jacket. I pair it with a hard shell in the winter for skiing, use it by itself to go out on town. Works great for the cool summer evenings and awesome to take along backpacking, super light and super warm. Highly recommend this product to anyone. My boyfriend now has one too and loves his just as much.

Arc hits the sweet-spot with this jacket: it keeps me warm, but never lets me overheat because of the two side-panels of thinnish, stretchy material. These panels seem to breathe, but of course this also means that if I wear it as an outer-layer only, I can get cold where these two side panels are. But I use this as a mid-layer usually (under any jacket I happen to wear that day - depending on the temperature outside) and it kinda acts like a down jacket in that I never get cold, but never seem to get too hot, either. It's a really nice feature about this jacket. I am 6"2", 220 lbs., have a 44" chest and long, lanky arms, and the size large fits me really well. The tobiko color is a little less red, and more orangish than depicted in the photo. I love the sleeping-bag-fabric feel of the interior lining - cozy. It is a trim fit, but I can get my Rho AR zip neck under it comfortably. It is very light in weight and a lot of the time I just end up wearing it all day, except in the summer (I live in Central California). The only thing I take issue with is that the hood has no drawcord. As such, if I keep the bottom edge of the hood opening under my chin, stretching the hood aperture a bit, then the wind is unable to blow it off my head. But if I let it cover my chin, a strong gust of wind will remove it from my head. It really needs a drawstring. Anyway, I liked it so much, I bought one for my girlfriend in black, and she really, really likes it. I recommend this jacket, just like all the other reviewers below. I believe you will be happy you chose this jacket.

And I bought it before I started working here! For Vancouver's climate, it's a perfect winter/early spring jacket. Even on cool nights in early summer. The warmth to weight ratio is awesome...almost like down, without the feathers. Warm, light, and surprisingly water resistant. It's also the perfect jacket to pack away when snowshoeing or hiking up a mountain...then pull it out once you've reached the top and start to cool off. It packs super small into its own hood. I also took it with me on a trip to Mexico...it made a great pillow on the plane, and a warm jacket available once I got off the plane in Vancouver!

The Atom LT was one of the first Arc'Teryx products I purchased and I must say - it is an all-around exceptionally functional piece. First off, the fit of the hoody is very ergonomically friendly in it's design. With a stylish yet universal cut, combined with slight stretch in the material, this hoody is made to fit almost any body type - big or small. Furthermore, the Atom LT is packed with various detailed features such as waist cord pull-tabs and flexible cuffs that allow the user maximum fit customization. Oh, and did I mention it's warm? With a optimal layer of Coreloft insulation, this hoody mid-layer will surely keep you toasty on those brisk morning adventures - wherever you may be. I love it my Atom LT!

fall in love with this jacket! The Atom LT is a failsafe option for a cold day when you want to look fly, athletic, and gooood. It is insulated with Coreloft, a synthetic insulation that actually repels water. This makes a great alternative to down jackets, since down gets a bit wet and stays soaked for ages. Although the Atom LT is not waterproof by any means, it can repel water to an extent. For instance, I've worn mine during spring skiing up at Whistler, where there is still some moisture dripping off the chairlifts and whatnot. Stayed dry! Definitely do not use as a rain jacket, for it eventually soaks through, but keeps ya warm on drier cold days. I appreciate the cut of this jacket, and the stretchy material down the sides. Try one on, and you will see!

Because she gets cold, and because I have seen her shiver when it actually feels WARM to me, I bought this Atom LT hoody mid-layer for my girlfriend. She says it seems to slip easily under her Kappa, Windstopper shell, and that she feels much warmer when she puts these two layers together. I picked size medium (in black) for the Atom because she's 5'10" and 140 lbs. She says she "really digs it" and that "black goes with everything," so I did not fail the color-choice test. This hoody fits her long-armed, tall figure very well, and she looks pretty in it, to boot! I enjoy when she wears it because the cut of the jacket seems to flatter her narrow-waisted figure, just like the other Arc' piece I bought her earlier in the month, the Kappa Hoody, in Roseberry (size lg.), which she uses everyday for her early morning bicycle rides before she goes to teach at school. So, I actually ended up buying her a whole Arc'Teryx layering system in the end (she did not know that layering is actually a kind of science, involving breathability and moisture management, especially when working out!). So now, she just looks at the thermometer hanging outside the bedroom window, determines how windy it is (for wind-chill purposes), and then makes an easy decision as to what she is going to wear each day as a mid-layer. Then, at 5:45 AM, she leaves for her hour long workout with the dog. So, backtracking a bit here now, now that I had gone ahead and addressed the whole windchill issue with the new Kappa Hoody, she still said she needed more warmth. OK. This is where the Atom LT Hoody comes in. If it is "butt-cold" she uses the Atom under the Kappa, and then tweaks the warmth slightly by using one of the two base-layers I got her - either the Phase SL zip-neck in long-sleeve, or the Phase SL crew in short-sleeves. She likes these base-layers and can not believe how "dry" she remains while working out. Honestly, I've never seen anybody so excited about being dry. OK, so she always wears the Kappa Hoody as her go-to jacket, but then, depending on conditions outdoors, she chooses between either her Atom Lt Hoody, or her new Fortrez Hoody (in malachite, medium) as her mid-layer. And, she does the same with the base-layers I got her. She says the Atom LT keeps her really warm when she's out fighting the early AM wind-chill on her bicycle, and because it breathes really well (through the thinner, kind of stretchy side panels under the arms), she says she somehow doesn't sweat. I really smiled when I heard this. She LOVES it, and seems really grateful and glad that her workouts don't leave her sweaty and cold (really, she used to workout in a heavy down jacket, with several cotton under-layers (just trying to somehow keep warm)). Also, I got her a pair of Phase SV leg tights, size lg., which she wears under either her yoga pants if it's warmish outside, or under the Alpha Comp pants I got her, size 8, if the conditions outside are not so good. She likes the color of her Atom LT hoody, black, and I see her with the piece ALL the time. It seems always to be with her somehow! I think she keeps it in her purse. I'm not kidding! And again (like with her Kappa Hoody), because she has to lean way forward to ride her bike, she says the length of the arms is really good for her. It feels weird to admit, but I actually bought her a second Kappy Hoody, again in Roseberry, because I never got to see her wearing her pretty jacket. It was always either in the wash, or out drying somewhere (she says she has to wash it after every few workouts). So now, the new Kappy is on the way, but her Atom will be with her, no matter which Kappa she wears.

Purchased this product for a ski trip to Revelstoke BC. This is the first hoody I have purchased. It was the perfict mid-layer. Paired only with a base layer and uninsulated shell I was warm and dry. It is easy to clean and although light weight seems very durable. It fit true to size I am 6'-1 1/2" , 220# and the XL is a perfict fit. I would highly recomendt this product.

I own a lot of jackets. A LOT. This jacket has impressed me time and time again, and has become my all time favorite to wear. It has been great on spring nights when it's a little chilly or the mornings as well, I wear it literally everywhere. I know that I spent Good money paying for such a quality piece. The sleeves are extremely comfortable against my wrists. I never get too hot in this jacket. Out of all the things I own from Arcteryx, this is by far my favorite and should be in everyone's closet.

I have the Atom LT vest and love the feel of it and how it breathes yet keeps my core warm. I typically wear a puffy but don't have one with a hood. Also, my puffy by the P company, while I love it does not have the comfort and stretch that the Atom LT pieces have. Whether climbing, skiing, hiking.. whatever the subtle feel of the Atom is much better than the stickiness of the puffy. The cuffs are super comfy as well and the side panels allow enough air to penetrate to keep you from getting sweaty. The only down side is that the hood is huge and if I only wore this climbing that would be great. I'd love a draw string on the hood to adjust it for non climbing days. This will likely get worn more than my other pieces due to sheer comfort and the way it stretches or "moves" with me. It doesn't bind or constrict. - I'm 5-10 and stocky through the shoulders and chest and hate trying to find a jacket that fits me in those areas without being long in the sleeves and the hem. This jacket fits the bill perfectly. Great Job on this design. Cheers,

I ordered the XS in Tiger Lily. It is very orange (like construction orange) but I dig it, great contrast for photo ops, especially against the snow. I weigh 125 and am 5'3, the fit is pretty good, except it is a bit short in the front. I am glad I went with the XS because I tried on a S and found the armpits a bit loose. The fabric is so light and soft, I love wearing it! It protects great against the wind and very warm ( I am usually always cold).

This jacket of which I now own two! Will be part your trusted to equipment for every activity which takes you out of doors and into natures theater. Skiing or backcountry camping this is it! I also work at the Ski Cellar Snowboard in Calgary Alberta, Canada. People ( mostly men) come in with their research already done and eager to see what's new for the Ski season. It flies off the racks. The only comment is the dull, and lifeless colour choices. If I'm out in the back country touring I want the rescue team to find me, It would be extremely hard if I look like a pile of dead wood, or a moss covered rock. Your colours are so out dated, freshen things up. Men are allowed to wear colour now, not just black, gray, rust, and green or pile yellow and dried scab red. COME ON! Liven things up.

I would recommend this jacket to anyone. I got it recommended to me by the sales associate when I went to the store. Told him the features I was looking for and I spend lots of time outdoors all winter either walking, jogging, hiking or skiing (x-country not good jacket for downhill). The weight to warmth ratio was unlike any jacket I've worn. It's got the perfect amount of front wind protection (not total to still allow come cooling#. Perfect for outdoor aerobic activities, with side ventilation under sleeves which are dry wick material. It's also highly compressible and allows me to twist it around its arms into a tight waist "sash" Hood fits perfectly snug. The jacket has a smaller Inner pocket as well as two outer pockets #with totally hidden zippers#. Collar feels good zipped uptight to your face as the neck still has lots of stability to hold a nice "coze" around your neck. I'm making up words here but you know what I mean. The jacket also dries very quickly probably due to the synthetic fibre system I'm sure. So if you're looking for a jacket with those features, buy this one I promise you won't be disappointed. I've had one for second season and won't do winter without it ..Yes, it's that good. Only one flaw, inside jacket pocket zipper is slightly too small and mine is black #I have a black jacket as well#. this makes it overly challenging to find it if you're in low light condition. Make it fluorescent orange or something so it stands out. Yes I know its minor but all I could find.

I needed something packable for a trip to Nashville in December, and it needed to fit under my Arcteryx Alpha SL rain jacket, since the forecast called for rain and freezing rain the entire time I was there. This Atom LT worked out perfectly. It fits slim, so it fit nicely under my hard shell, yet has enough stretch that I was able to fit a short sleeve t-shirt, long sleeve light baselayer top, and a mid-weight fleece vest underneath, and the hardshell over the top, without feeling overly bulky. Now back home in SoCal, I find the jacket great as a standalone piece. It looks nice enough that I can wear it to work, yet is great for camping and evening walks when it's cool. I love the jacket for it's versatility as a mid-layer or outerwear. I'm so glad I got it. I guess the only drawback I've found it that the fabric doesn't release wrinkles very quickly after being packed.

Purchased this before deployment to McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Cannot say enough about the temperature regulation and warmth qualities of this garment. I understand some will complain about the wind penetration under the arms but as someone who was very physically active in a cold/windy environment, I appreciated the ventilation and had zero issues. With a light or midweight fleece (a la Patagonia R1), I was plenty comfortable in temperatures ranging from 20 to -10. I wouldn't recommend standing around in a moist/humid environment as I cannot speak to the water resistance of this jacket, but for dry activities in freezing temperatures I couldn't recommend this product more. I had doubts about the spandex style wrists but am a convert. Runs slightly large, I am 6'2'' and weigh 185 and a large fit well if not a little loose.

I never even considered purchasing the Atom LT until a cold snap came along here in the Kootenays, and I decided that it was time to purchase a proper insulating layer to pair with my Sidewinder shell. As someone who overheats constantly, I assumed this would be a piece that I would only use during cold temp days. I was so very wrong! I take my Atom LT Hoody with me everywhere. It's perfectly breatheable under my shell, and I stay warm and cozy on windy chair lift rides. When I'm snowshoeing or cross country skiing, it is the perfect outer layer, and the stretchy panels under the arms help regulate my temperature. I ball it up and stuff it in purse for when I need an extra snuggle layer at work, and I reach for it constantly for afternoon walks or shovelling. It is soft enough to wear against my skin and sheds water fairly well, so I expect it will be my go-to outer layer for clear to drizzly spring days. The only think I would add is a draw cord around the hood to tighten it down in windy conditions. The Atom LT Hoody is truly a 3-season piece. I don't know how I ever did without one. Everyone needs one.

My first Arcteryx purchase!!! The day I tried this jacket on, I was hooked. It is so light and comfortable. Like crawling into a cozy bed. I bought this jacket for its layering capabilities under my goose down coat. With our coldest winter in many years, this jacket has proven to be a wonderful addition to my outerwear arsenal. The side panels are great for releasing body heat when you're trudging through snow or exerting oneself. My favorite design feature is when it is fully zipped up, the chin area is "roomy", and allows for easy coverage of my face when the wind picks up. Can't wait to add more Arcteryx pieces to my collection. Great product-great brand!

I have used this brilliant jacket for over 3 years now, and have used it in every season from summer nights to cold winter days. Pair it with a nice phase top and it works as a stand alone outer layer, never too hot thanks to the side panels. Used it as a mid layer for skiing, winter mountaineering and it kept me toasty warm. It is my go to jacket for any activity.

Firstly, let me start by saying I bought this amazing jacket 1 year ago. I got it on sale but I would buy it full price in a second now that I have tried it. Please watch my video for full review and to see the sizing. It is a size large and I am 6 feet and 185lbs. Purpose: this jacket is meant to be a lightly insulated spring/fall jacket, or to be used in high output cold weather activities. I have used it in both situations and it excels in each. Insulation/warmth: the 60 grade coreloft is warm for it's weight. They say that it retains heat even when wet, but I have yet to test this as I usually pair it with my Theta SV if there is a chance of showers. This jacket will not keep you warm in temperatures below 0 degrees celcius if you are just using it for casual wear. When you pair it with a fleece and baselayer, you can get by at 0 C. Breathability: highly breathable. The panels on the sides of the torso and armpits allows you to dump excess heat in high output activities. This feature can work against you if you are using it for casual activities and the wind picks up, as the wind will blow right through this material. Cuffs: these are perfect. They are tight around your wrist, but made with such a soft, and stretchy material that they are super comfortable. They make it easy to use this under a hardshell, as well as using gloves that slide overtop. Hood: this hood will keep you warm when you need it. It could be improved by making some draw strings to synch it down. If the wind is in your face, it will fill up. Fit: I bought the size Large. I was on the fence between a large and medium but went with the large so I can layer with it. The hip draw strings allow me to synch it at the bottom so it doesn't look too big at all. Pockets: great, fleece lined pockets. 1 inside pocket. Water resistance: the DWR on my jacket wore off quickly. Other than light drizzle, I would not wear this in rain. I usually have a hardshell with me so not a problem, but don't buy this jacket with expectations that it will keep you dry in wet weather.
