My favorite layering combination is the Delta LT jacket under either the Atom LT or Atom AR hoody, all covered by a shell under really nasty conditions. For anything short of a downpour, though, the Atom LT does amazingly well on its own. Extremely light, warm, durable, and packable for the size and weight. I consider the Atom LT and AR, along with the Delta LT, to be quintessential layering pieces and never leave home without them.

I absolutely love this Poseidon colour. It's always been a wish of mine that Arcteryx would make a women's Atom LT hoody in this kind of colour that is more often seen in the men's range and this season, that wish was granted. I seriously think my previous feedback on women's colours has been listened to - this jacket is perfect: I love this dark blue, the bright blue interior and zip complement the outer darker blue colour perfectly. Am so pleased there's not a hint of baby blue within the colour scheme of the jacket that often appears in the women's range. I am well aware the female market is hard to cater for: with women that want more feminine colours and those like me that actually much prefer the colour range the men have, so thank you so much for this! What's also changed is that there are several colours this season I would want to wear unlike past years when I would want to buy an Arcteryx jacket but did not like the colour range or colour combinations on the jackets. I'm absolutely delighted with this women's Poseidon coloured Atom LT hoody.
Aside the colour, I'm a huge fan of the Atom LT hoody. This jacket is always packed on my commute runs, worn for day to day wear, urban / outdoor walking and travelling. It's the perfect all round insulated jacket. Excellent warmth to weight ratio, solidly built - I have several Atom LT hoodies that I rotate over the year and they are all wearing very well indeed.

I have 2 of these and just ordered #3. This is my go to jacket for everything, I can be rough on gear and this jacket stands up to the abuse. Great for down to 30* if your moving. Being in the Cascades you get wet, I have been soaked and still warm, but the best part is how fast this jacket dries out and its super light. One is always in my pack. 5'10 190lb L fits with room for layering.
Buy 2, you'll end up wearing it so much you need a second color.

I have had my Atom LT for 5 years now and can't recommend it enough. As former Ski Patrol on the local North Shore mountains, this mid-layer saw almost daily use for 2 years under an Alpha model hardshell and has spent the last three years serving me on my daily commute to the office. The water repellent finish is enough to get you home in a light rain and has yet to fade on me.
Recently, I've been bringing it along for hikes in and around the Kananaskis and Canmore areas. It packs light and small and couples great with my Alpha LT to cut wind and stave off chills while taking lunch in the alpine.
If you're in the market for an all-around mid-layer this is your ticket to a happy outdoors adventure or a worry-free, comfortable commute. Highly recommended.

There is not a place I have been where I have not taken this jacket and not found a use for it - and that statement comes from a person who took it to island of Mauritius in the height of summer.
To list but a few of it's virtues: it is light, soft, flexible, tough, breathable, well made, well-thought-out and it has a good degree of warmth. I have used the jacket for everyday use in England, as a mid layer on colder ski days and it was even immensely handy in Mauritius when I got caught up in the tail ends of Cyclone BANSI - the breathability in the arms and fabrics kept my body well away from overheating in the 30 degree heat but protected me from the violent winds.
Lastly, I find it particularly useful on flights as it is very comfortable to wear, the perfect degree of warmth and you can easily throw it into your flight bag when needed - also, any creases just fall straight out.
If you are contemplating buying this jacket, buy it. It is well worth the money. And, I hope from the above I have demonstrated its amazing versatility and as such the fact that you will find a use for it somewhere at sometime!

Fits great, feels great, and the new version is softer than the previous ones. Great surprise. In winter I wear it under a light baselayer almost every day around Portland, Oregon. When it's really cold and wet I put my Fission SL over it and it's a smooth ride all the way. Love the new hood adjustment. The Atom LT is one of the great things in life.

Ho hum...same ol same ol....Just another super high quality jacket from our friends at Arcteryx. I'm 5'10 160lbs and the Medium fits perfect. I am a fly fishing guide and will be wearing this jacket all day everyday along with my Beta LT. Now if they would only make waders :)

This jacket is great lightweight synthetic insulated jacket. I was outside in snow to the high teens and it kept my warm. It dries really quick as well. Has your standard two pockets and an inner napolean pocket; sufficient and well made.

Everest Base Camp, 4-season backpacking, international travel, the kid's soccer games... This jacket goes everywhere with me. It is amazingly warm given it's light weight and compact size. It layers well, breathes great, is a little water resistant (it's not a rain coat, of course) and is sooooo comfortable. The newly-designed hood fits nicely and keeps out the wind & cold.
Rather than endlessly shower compliments, I'll just say I'm an avid hiker/backpacker and gear hound. I own over a dozen Arc'teryx items.
This, folks, is my favorite piece of gear.

I own several piece of gear from Arcteryx and the Atom LT is my favorite.
I love the weight/warmth ratio that i find better than the Atom AR.
It is less warm than the Atom AR but i love the fact that it covers a wider range of temperature (as the AR is way to warm for temperature around 5/10C). As it more more packable than the AR, i can easily wear the LT under my thorium jacket.

I'm 5'9 , 175 lbs and I wear a Medium. The jacket can probably accommodate a man up to 6 feet or so? I'm not fat but I'm not fit either so I'm guessing that if you're 15-20 pounds heavier than me, the Medium should still fit.
The thing I love about this jacket is how it's so compressible and light! I can pretty much stuff it into any of my bags (briefcase, work bags, backpacks) and I can barely tell that it's there! I also love the wrist cuffs as they're elastic and comfortable. The pockets are also lined with some sort of amazingly soft and warm fleece that I love.
The only negative thing I can think of is that I already found a small tear near the zipper, even though I've only been wearing the jacket for less than half a year, with minimal city use. I've never gone hiking nor snowboarding in this jacket yet so I'm not sure how the tear occured...

Absolutely love this jacket. I don't have the newer 2014 style, nor have I tried one on but I've always wanted another one so I just might have to.
This has always been my go-to layering piece, I bring it everywhere with me no matter the type of trip. It's the perfect active mid-layer and I also love it just wearing around town as an outer layer.
I want the Atom AR as well for colder days or even just slower activities in colder temps. I'm a huge fan of down but know that synthetic has it's purpose too. This is my first synthetic piece and I've been really happy with it.
I'm 6" and 145-150lbs and the Medium is perfect. I'm a medium in all Arc' jackets.
The material seems like it wouldn't be that strong but so far I haven't had any problems with it which is a plus!

This jacket has been with me for the past 4-5 years, It's survived 15 months in Afghanistan's Helmand province, countless military exercises, mountain biking, Ice climbing, and now as a foreign affairs journalist comes with me everywhere from Syria to the South Pacific.
It dries in 20 minutes, keeps you warm when it's completely soaked through. Every piece of outdoors kit I now buy is Arc'teryx based on my experience with this jacket alone.

I adore my Atom LT jacket. I have worn this as a stand alone outer shell for active hiking, backpacking, and mountaineering in temperatures down to 40 degrees. The balance between warmth and breathability is fantastic. Be aware though that those side fleece panels really do breathe - you'll get some nice air flow on your sides. When the activity level goes down or the temperature drops it also makes an amazing mid-layer under a hard shell. I have even been known to wear it around the house and to the gym as a snug wearable blanket - it insulates so much more than you would think!
I am also impressed with the durability heading into my second season. The soft feeling outer fabric washes well, handles an impressive amount of abrasion, and puts up with stuffing in the corners of the pack.
TLDR: Great jacket, warmer and more breathable than it appears, impressive durability. Get one.

This is the best jacket I've ever had the pleasure of owning, and it was definitely worth the investment. This jacket was my first ever Arc'teryx purchase and I'll certainly be a return customer. This jacket makes a great stand-alone in the milder climates of south Texas. I would recommend to anyone interested in a high quality lightweight jacket.
