Good looking shoe but it was tight in the toe for me.

This shoe is very stiff and would make a great trail shoe. I need a softer shoe with good support and room for my orthotics.

These run slightly small and more narrow than I expected. Perhaps a wide width would work?

Just tried these on with medium weight hiking socks… What the heck?! I ordered 8W, but they’re too small all around! I wear 7.5W in pretty much all the brands that carry wides (for my bunions), but I typically wore 8 in Merrell before my bunions got too big and then 8.5 to fit my bunions. So I figured 8W would be perfect! (Sigh) I will try 8.5W and 9W, because I think that the overall fit and feel should be good for work where I do a ton of walking outside.

I ordered two new pairs to replace the ones I've worn and loved for 5 years and ordered the exact same size; 8.5 and they are obviously NOT the same size. I knew immediately when I put one on that it felt smaller so I checked the size thinking I must have been sent the wrong size, but no it says they are 8.5. So now I have to go through the lovely friggen process of repacking and returning to wait all over again for a larger size.

The color is not well represented in the advertising or I did not perceive them as they actually appear. They are actually green

I bought these as I am trying shoes for a 500 mile hike on the Camino de Santiago.
These were recommended so I bought them to see how they were.
I have wide feet and these aren't as wide as I would have liked. I bought a size up and still had to relaced them to help with the width but could use a tad more space. I think I would have to size up even more but then worry they would be too long. I do like the look.
I took these on a 12 day trip where I knew it would be raining and I would be walking a lot. While I loved the waterproof aspect, these were a little too hard, sole wise. I have plantar fasciitis and after a day of walking 10 miles, my feet were so sore, I was worried I would not be able to complete my trip. I had taken other shoes that I knew I could walk in without pain and wore those the rest of the trip. I will continue to use these on short distance walks hikes but no longer than 5 miles.
I also have to pay attention to the socks I wear. They need to be long enough to cover my heel so the back of the shoe doesn't rub and cause irritation.
I do not hate these shoes and glad I tried them but wonder if there is a better shoe to try for my journey.

Look better and are less clunky than a lot of shoes in this genre. These have some built-in arch support, but the sole is really chintzy and the ground feels very hard under the ball of your foot. Once I replaced the sole, they were much more comfortable. You definitely need to size up at least a half-size (I vary between 6 and 6.5 and needed a 7).

I received these Merrels after exchanging them- first pair was too small. The sizing is more like a sneaker rather than a shoe. I love the look of these and the rugged traction is awesome. The shoe fits my foot snugly, and I feel supported. HOWEVER, I’ve worn them twice in wet (not soaking)conditions, and both times the tops of my feet got wet, so I question that they’re waterproof. Moreover, I, sadly, recycled the packaging and now regret it because the sole of these shoes have no padding in them. You walk on the hard rubber sole which makes the bottom of my feet sore after a good trek. So sad.

I usually wear a 6.5. However I ordered both a 6.5 and 7.0. I found that the 6.5 was too short in the toes but fit fine in the arch. I switched to the size 7.0 which was slightly too long in the arch. But after wearing for a week, I find that there still is not enough length in the toe section of the shoe. (Plans are to wear with wool socks because of winter. They are ok with thin summer socks, but cold ankles make that option undesirable.)

Liked the look of this light hiker. My other Merrells are 8.5 - I ordered 8.5 and 9, even the 9 was too short for me. The width was good for my narrowish foot but back they go - Thanks Zappos for easy returns.

I love the appearance and really wanted these to work, but they were just too stiff everywhere. No cushioning underneath, the sole is so inflexible and firm it is hard to feel the terrain underfoot. The tread is very grippy, at least. They also felt a half-size smaller than other brands. These feel very protective, but at the sacrifice of comfort.

I mostly like the fit, but there’s something weird about the heel - it feels less cushioned than the rest of the shoe. Also the bottom of the shoe in general just feels thinner like I will feel every bump and pebble. Maybe I’m just spoiled by my old Keens and their thicker bottoms.

Brindle color more of an olive green, but in a good way. I had to go up a half size, because the wide width was not wide enough. Comfortable, with good arch support, but lacks much sole padding...feels hard like a boot sole, not springy like an athletic shoe. Not sure how comfortable they'll be after a long hike.

I tried this model of the siren after I destroyed a pair of waterproof siren edge shoes after 2 weeks of hiking in Utah. These have held up better than the siren edge, but I've found them to be less comfortable. For about 8 years, I bought the original waterproof siren sport model, one per year to use as my everything shoe, before they discontinued them. While the old model would fit me perfectly out of the box, I've found this new version gives me blisters on the balls of my feet. It also causes me muscle pains in my toes. I wish they would make the original siren sport again!

These say they are wide. But, they are still too narrow. Why not design a show with adequate space for the toes? I normally wear a wide with no problem. I don't recommend these for people with wide feet.

I have a wide foot, and this shoes didn't make it for me. I liked the gore Tex, vibrant soles and appearance, but if you have a wide foot like mine, they will wear out quickly.

I was really surprised at how small these shoes were on me. I could barely get my feet in them, though I ordered my normal size. They looked nice, but I had to return.

Really like Vibram soles for hiking. But, this shoe (in W width) is too narrow.
