I purchased this to add to one that I already own(for 12 years or so), as an extra. I haven't been able to try it out in cold weather. The sizing appears to be for a Junior High School model, in that it seems to be on the small side of the stated size (think Abercrombie or Hollister). The material seems a little thinner than the older version, and you can see where updates have been made to cut cost. I may try the next size up, but I'm afraid that would be too large.

This jacket is much lighter in weight than what I expected. This "new" design is a cheaper copy of the older, heavier weight design. Also, the logo's on this jacket are painted on, not embroidered like earlier versions, again, a cheaper feature. I thought mine was a fake when I first got it, but I saw one at a TNF store so I know it's legit. TNF has really cut corners on this jacket for the sake of increasing margin by keeping the price same as the older ones. I WOULD NOT recommend this jacket at the current price point. It's worth about 1/2 of what their charging.

This updated jacket replaced the last session defective version. I am always disappointed when a outdoor company takes out the technical aspects of a jacket and throws it out the window for fashion. In this case no longer having velcro cuffs on a windproof jacket. I guess this must be consider only an around town and not for the mountain. I am glad they didn't remove the zipper and use buttons down the front.

It was lighter than expected, not to be used during the coldest ny weather. But it is a good option for fall.

Fine jacket - nice material. Fits well. The logos are a bit much though - a bright one on the front, and another one on the back? Used to be less visible, now the logos are getting bigger and going on both sides. It's concerning. Wouldn't recommend this because of how big they are.

I weigh 228 pounds and stand 5' 11" tall. I wear extra large clothing and have for over 15 years. This jacket in extra large was very tight and uncomfortable. I returned it. I am reluctant to reorder XXL because I am worried about the sleeves being too long. The sleeves were perfect length on the one returned. This jacket is attractive and well made. THREE STARS ONLY AS A RESULT OF FIT.

Everything is pretty good, great as a windbreaker, great to block the wind & for lightweight & real warmth, great looks, great comfort, good back length to the waist. However, the sleeves are too too too long. Iam debating on having a tailor work on the sleeves, or just leave them folded in 3 inches.

I have purchased this in XS numerous times in the past and again just recently because I hate the new curvy fit of the women's apex bionic (I'm a 5'2" 115# female & new W apex fit doesn't accommodate layers). I was so excited to receive the jacket knowing it would have the straight fit both models used to have. I was super disappointed to notice that it no longer has the internal fleece cuff that it did years ago. Please bring back this much loved feature!! Overall, it is still a great jacket and has better functionality than the women's.

The Black looks like a grayish black. I have other TNF black clothing that look more black. Original Apex Bionic have a stronger feel in quality. This one feels thin and cheap.

This is a well made, stylish jacket. However, for me, I wanted it for layering. Unfortunately, the medium doesn't fit snug enough, it's too boxy. The small jams into my underarm. So, even though it's flexible, I'm not positive about keeping it. If you want a comfortable mid-weight jacket, this might work for you.

The jacket is nice in general -- warm and lightweight. The only issue is that the sleeves are way too long.

Bought the jacket for travel. The jacket looks great and feels great, but it's not warm at all. Was in normal, fall, 55-65 degree weather and was still shivering like crazy.

Great jacket but I'm 5'11 and ordered an XL but the sleeves are way too long, especially disappointing because the title said 'updated design', overall the fit seems a bit awkward.

Had one of these and it took a long time to wear it out, so not a bad value. This jacket can do some things others can't, but at the same time it poorly attempts to do some things it shouldn't. It takes about 20 minutes of solid rain to completely soak it through the untapped seams, which is very water repellent. Unfortunately waterproof membrane only allows the water to dry on one side at a time, so dry it off inside out. Having owned this thing, I decided this kind of jacket wasn't for me. It doesn't stretch as much as a regular fleece, and it isn't very warm without additional layers, but it takes a long time to dry out if/when it eventually gets wet through the un-taped seams. I think a stretchy fully waterproof shell that zips into a fleece when you need it, Or a more stretchy more breathable and better ventilated highly wind/water repellent shell that zips into a fleece and does not attempt to insulate and dries out super fast if it does get wet would hit the needs of this jackets users better. Bottom line they tried to make what people asked for, and used good construction practices, but this thing isn't really the right object.
