This jacket completely keeps me warm even in the most bitter of Chicago winters. I have never owned a jacket that cuts the wind off Lake Michigan quite like this one. It's one of the best purchases of my life

This is my second north face and it absolutely great!! Keeps the wind and rain off you very well! First day I got it, it was raining and threw it right on and fit near perfect! I probably won't buy another jacket for at least the next 5+ years

I'm very happy with this purchase. I bought it to replace a Denali Fleece jacket that was starting to look a little ratty after 14 years. I also hated how the wind went right through it during my walk to work. I the Apex Bionic on in the store but ordered online to get the size and color I wanted. Fits great and blocks the wind well to keep me warm, but is flexible and allows for ease of movement. It's also very lightweight.

The Apex Bionic jacket is by far the best jacket I have ever owned. It is just the right weight to keep me warm but not too warm. It is not bulky. And, I love the fact that the fabric is flexible and stretches with my movements. It is also water resistant which makes this the perfect jacket for every situation.

Best jacket I have ever owned. Was looking for a "Deal" on different web sites and stores, couldn't find anything that I wanted. Was sold when reading about the technology and design on "The North Face" web site. You got my attention with the lifetime warranty . That's when I realized that $149 from "The North Face" is a great deal I'm amazed that a jacket so thin can work so well. I have used it in 25 degree weather with a 10-15 miles per hour north wind for everything such as jogging, road biking and everyday use. The jacket has kept me warm but not too sweaty. I have never had a jacket fit as well as this one. The high collar is great and I love the strings in the pockets that allows me to pull the bottom of the jacket tight around the bottom to keep the cold air out.

This is a great, warm jacket. I live in Illinois so the winters can be cold and this is just as good as my Carhartt jacket! Plus, I think it will be even cool enough for the springs and falls here as well. So you get good use out of it. I have gotten so many compliments on this jacket too. The one thing I kind of dislike is the collar is pretty stiff. It get can get annoying when it rubs on the back of your head/hair but other than that I love it!

This coat is light, but keeps the wind out on the coldest days. It really runs small. I had to change and XL for a XXL and I have other TNF jackets that fit well as XL.

When I first heard about The Northface I wasn't convinced that it was a great product to have. I thought it was a jacket that people purchased just to look good. After I purchased my jacket I was not a skeptic anymore it is a great jacket. I live in Colorado so the weather changes quite frequently. After wearing my jacket in 15? weather I realize that it does hold up to its name. It keeps the wind and cold out. I like how I can adjust the sides at my waist to fit and not have it be baggy. The only thing I don't like about it is when I purchased it I paid for overnight delivery and I got my jacket four days later. Other than that I love my jacket and I look forward to having it for a long time and I also look forward to purchasing more products from The Northface.

The apex bionic jacket that I purchased is all and more than I expected. It fits the way I had hoped and feels and looks great.
I wear it on the cold and windy central New York days that we have
been having and it really keeps the wind out and keeps me warm.
I am very satisfied with this product and have recommended this jacket to my friends.

Perfect mid-weight jacket to wear just about all cold(er) seasons. Love the water repellent nature of the material...water just beads up. The fit is great and runs true to size. I'm 5'8" 150lb...size S. If I had to give one negative...I wish there was an inside pocket, but the front breast pocket sort of makes up for that. Love TNF!

I got the jacket for my grandson. He loves the lightweight feel with the warming it brings in very cold weather with layering. He loved it so much I went back and bought another one for my other grandson.

Had my eye on this jacket for a while. Finally caught a sale at a local retailer and got one. This is a well made, quality jacket. The break in period is quick and easy as I've only had this about 1-2 days but have had the chance to wear in in different temps/weather already. It's a bit snug at first but it'll stretch and move with your body quickly.
It's a pretty warm jacket and it holds up well against light sleet, snow, rain. The water beads on the surface similar to TNF rain jackets so it seems like it can tolerate a good amount of light to moderate rain/snow but note according to TNF this jacket isn't waterproof.
As for the biggest thing to consider: temperature ranges. I did the "t-shirt test" last night when it was about 32F out and slightly windy . Just a tshirt under it. It kept me warm but I was still a little chilly and it was a bit drafty. With a long sleeve dress shirt the next morning in 28-30F temps with some light sleet I was dry but could still feel a chill. Standing inside a room at room temp with this jacket and just a t shirt I was sweating within 2 minutes. I live in the Northeast and we've seen temps as low as 9F some days (with feel like temp below 0F). This jacket is not going to keep you warm below freezing temps unless you're layering. You'll need a waterproof outer layer in very wet conditions and you'll need a warm layer under for below 30F. Even in high 30s I was a bit chilly in my arms with a long sleeve dress shirt and t shirt under.
So all this said, I can say this jacket is probably best used alone (with a t shirt or long sleeve shirt) in temperatures of 40F and up. With layering (either a rain jacket or hard shell over it) you can probably take this jacket into wet, below 30F weather easily. With layering under it (fleece, hoodie, thermal long sleeve) I'm thinking it can be comfortably warm in dry weather down to 30F .
As others have said this jacket does best in the 40F and up chilly range, appears to be weather resistant, and blocks wind well when the cinches and velcro are adjusted correctly. You might notice it takes a bit for the fabric to "warm up" when you first go outside. This makes you feel a bit chilly at first before your body heat moves around the inside of the jacket.
This jacket also looks sleek and matches anything. When it's "hoodie weather" out but you want to look a bit classier, this jacket does it. It feels durable and feels high quality. Since it's thin and close fitting you can layer it well which adds to the versatility.
It won't keep you warm alone in below 40F, it'll hold off light to moderate rain/snow for a little bit, and it'll block wind as long as you adjust it properly.
I give this jacket 5 stars because overall it is a really great, versatile, and comfortable jacket. It's a good balance of weather resistance, warmth, and windblocking.

Very nice jacket, well made and good looking. Good for moderately cold temperatures as well as keeping the rain off. Only suggestion would be to consider offering tall sizes, as jacket length could be aprx 2-3 inches longer

My husband has one and loves it. It is warm and helps with the winds here in New Mexico. He rides a motor cycle so he experiences a lot of wind. We purchased this jacket for my husband's father and he is happy with it as well. Now i need to purchase one for myself.
Great product!
