On my 4th generation of Cascadias. Really liking this version. Seems a bit more solid and not noticing my foot moving around in the shoe during longer runs. Definitely a great reliable shoe for lots of miles on pavement and trails.

Great overall trail shoe. Effective in trail running and pack scrambling. Super light and responsive!

Perfect for Alaska trail running. Comfortable, but the sole is beefy and stable to absorb rocks etc...and with great traction for heading up and down.

The price to quality ratio is more than fair. I usually go trail running in terrains with a lot of loose rocks/brush. It handles mud and loose ground fairly well. The stock laces slip so make sure to double knot or replace them. I wish it had just a little bit more ankle support, but I have not had any incidents relating to that. The hard toe is a huge plus, especially if you are running anywhere with a lot of roots and rocks coming out of the ground; it absorbs those kind of impacts well. After a few months of weekly use, it still maintains a fresh/new look which is nice.

My husband reports these as being 'only average' on comfort. He's new to trying a trail shoe. We both prefer a trail running sort of style over hiking boots or hiking shoes with boot-like soles. He says they are nothing special enough to pay this kind of money for LOL He is a huge fan of Brooks and has worn their Ghost style literally for as long as I can remember. I personally looked at the shoe myself and the soles are stiff as a board. I have no idea how anyone would like these but I prefer my Merrell Trail Glove 6 so I am not the best person to talk to about rigid soles as I despise them. I can hardly flex this sneaker at all. The color choices were 'meh'. I don't blame him for his return. We appreciate how easy Zappos is to deal with and always come here first to try and find what we need! Happy hiking ;)

i'm looking for a shoe thats for training. something with a more durable upper. this shoe is very comfortable. and will work. however the material looks like several other shoes that rip out on the sides. check with me in a month.

The shoe would probably have been fine had I ordered the correct size. I should have ordered a 1/2 smaller. But that's a common problem I have between differing brands, sometimes 9.5 works and sometimes 10. I would have just exchanged it for the correct size but Zappos doesn't offer exchange so I just returned for a refund. I did like the looks of the tread pattern better than what is in the Cantamount and the old Pure Grit and the rubber compound used seemed grippier but since I couldn't exchange I went with a different company and different shoe. I will say the return process is super easy at Zappos.

Like the light weight -soles are very good wish I could get a 1/2 size larger on one shoe only. Guess my feet are uneven. I would recommend them to others. Noticed they are not made in the normal country.

FIt feels sloppy in the forefoot. Maybe I need to figure out how to lace it over the instep. The silver color is actually shiny, which is not to my taste. A few miles in the dirt will fix that :)

Have a narrow foot, these seem to be a bit wider than Cascadia's from a few years ago. Still comfortable and stable.

Good, not great. Is it just me, or are the cascadias an every-other year shoe? 14s= best ever. 13s= yuck. 12s= still wear them to work and felt fine for an unplanned lunch run with friends last week. Anyway, hoping they will be back on point for the 16s.

I normally wear a size 9. These will be used for multi-day hiking trips carrying a full pack, wearing liner socks under thin wool socks. I replaced the original insoles with Superfeet Trailblazer insoles. To allow for the socks, insoles, and swelling from long days on rough, hot trails, I ordered a size 10. On a shakedown hike they seemed perfect.

Good stability and protection on rocky and rooty trails. A little loose in the ankle fit.

Great shoes. Went on a 10k in the Canadian Rockies in snow, mud and ice. Great grip, run lite, good foot protection over rocks and roots.

Again, too early to tell for sure. But, definitely too much room in the shoe. Need to wear two pairs of socks.

I came back to Brooks after about 8 years with other brands (Adidas Terrex Swift and a few pairs of Hoka Clifton and Speedgoat, all good in thier own way) My favorite is the Ghost, and I have two pair of 12s. I now have about 50 total miles on the Cascadia. I'm slow and out of shape. They are fine, but I think I need more padding and more drop than I did when I was more active. Traction so far has been fine when wet and muddy, but I wouldn't use these outside of established trails. Fit is typical, trustworthy Brooks. I went half size up since these are for longer distances in warm to hot weather. Lacing is great and easy to adjust during first outing with the shoe. I will be comparing these with a more padded shoe in the Altra Olympus in May. Don't skimp on your shoes and try until you get something that feels right!

Had to return, because they were too narrow for my husband. He doesn't have wide feet.
