I was contacted by Brooks a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would test run a pair of the new Adrenaline GTS 21 free of charge in exchange for an honest review. In regards to my running background, I consider myself a casual runner who runs 3 to 4 miles three times per week with occasional increases in mileage when training for spring/fall 10k/quarter marathon races. Due to COVID-19, my socially distanced test runs took place on my treadmill. Due to flat feet and overpronation, I was fitted for former versions of the Adrenaline GTS at a local running store. Of note, the sizing for this model appears comparable to that of the last model I purchased (Adrenaline GTS 19). To aid in my review, I did side-by-side comparisons of this new shoe with the Adrenaline GTS 19 that I was currently running in. This new version is noticeably lighter and has a more streamlined tongue integrated into the mesh upper decreasing bulk under the laces and creating a more secure fit. When wearing the shoe, I could feel the arch support (issue with the guide rail?) of the left shoe pushing into my foot and it felt as if my left toes had no support (maybe an issue with the extended DNA LOFT?). As my foot and the shoe warmed up, these issues resolved, but after running 2 miles, it felt like my toes were stuck in melting butter. The cushioning, that I initially thought was great, felt squishy/mushy the longer I ran and my feet felt sweatier despite the improved breathability of the shoe. The guiderail support system appeared to be similar or unchanged from what I am used to as I developed no new knee/hip aches or pains. Fortunately, I have several pairs of the Adrenaline GTS 19 stockpiled; however, if I had to purchase a pair of the Adrenaline GTS 21, my test run experience would not deter me. My first impression is in no way a gamechanger for a brand and shoe that I have loved for years. Thanks again, Brooks!

This shoe is way too wide in the forefoot ? the ball of my foot has too much room to slide left and right. Please make this shoe more NARROW. Otherwise it has all the great benefits of Adrenaline.

Nice looking shoes, felt comfy trying them in and walking around the house but after a couple 12 hour shifts in the hospital, my feet were killing me after each. I even done the fit finder etc and got the ones it recommended. I will be returning sadly.

When I read positive reviews about these shoes and plantar fasciitis, I was hoping Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 would help alleviate pain when walking. They didn't. I'm went back to Brooks Ghost which has been my go-to shoe for years. The cushioning in the Ghosts is very helpful when dealing with foot pain. Plus -- A shout out to Zappos. Without the 30 day runlimited guarantee, I would not have known how uncomfortable these shoes were for me. Thank you Zappos.
I'd also recommend:

I've been a fan of this shoe model for many years and currently have 4 pairs that I wear (2 GTS 2019 and 2 GTS 2020). The GTS 21 has a narrower tongue which doesn't work for me. Haven't checked out the GTS 2022 but hope it's been corrected.

It's a very disappointing sneaker, especially for Brooks. Not supportive or comfortable. And the laces are horrible.

I am a loyal Brooks customer but this pair was a bit narrow for me, even though I have two other pairs of the same model and size. Very unusual to experience inconsistency in the fit, which is typically perfect.

It?s just okay I don?t feel any cushion Hope these shoes will last at least 6-8 mo I mean people keep saying that the latest models are not that great so I don?t understand what are you improving I mean it?s definitely worse than 19 and 20

I was looking for a replacement for the Brooks Addiction as they have changed the style (sadly). The Adrenaline fit to size perfectly but the arch support was not a match for me. I could easily feel the support around the perimeter of my foot but the midline/arch was VERY unsupported and after wearing in the house for only 15 minutes I could feel my feet pronate and arch began to ache. Back to trying to find a replacement for the prior style!

I unfortunately have to return them. After walking around my apartment for the evening to get a feel for them I realized the side walls on the inner back were knocking into my ankle bone (medial malleolus) with every step and it was starting to hurt. They are reinforced with some stiff material so there was no give to them when I walked.

I'll start by saying, I have never found a sneaker I loved as much as the old Brooks Ghost 10. After the Ghost I had to take along break from Brooks after that because none of the following designs quite measured up. Recently, I thought I would give Brooks another try with this Adrenaline. Unfortunately, these sneakers did not work for me. Color was nice. Heel cushion seemed decent. Not so much under the ball of foot. I started to have knee pain, which I have not had in years. So, these were not a good match for me.

These were nothing special. Not uncomfortable, but not at all like putting on new comfy cushy sneakers. Bought for a 2 mile walking commute. I really liked the light colors for summer, but that was all. I returned.

The sizing is correct. However, I do have swollen feet on occasion and I don't like the attached tongue. Also the achilles area of the shoe is not firm enough. I have to use a shoe horn now because it has collapsed too many times when I am putting my foot in the shoe. The Adrenaline GTS 19 had the long tongue and the back of the shoe was much stronger. Please add those features again. Once I can get the shoe on, then it is very comfy. Thank you

These were my first set of Adrenaline's, and they really feel too tight in the toe box. I normally buy Ghosts, but after seeing some of the gripes, and feeling a little less stable (getting older), a friend talked me into a pair just to try. They are incredibly cute, and feel pretty stable, but I could tell after a few runs that my feet were sore. They are either not wide enough, or were "too stable" for my foot to move around in properly. I will most likely be trading them in for a new pair of Ghosts.
