Went in snowy weather, and my feet were freezing! Also not very lightweight. Wouldn't buy again

At first I loved them. But only about 3 weeks after wearing them they started falling apart. I've had to super glue them multiple times now.

Great if you are just out shoveling the sidewalk. But after about 3 hrs of walking in the snow feet are soaked

I had to send the boots back because they were too small. If you are going to order these boots you will need to get one size larger. I where a 12 and should have order a 13. Other then the sizing the boot seem fairly functional in the elements.

I purchased these boots a few years ago. And honestly I loved them.. Then one day while I was taking them off, the lower rubber decided to crack apart and literally explode. The rubber is still soft and ply-able, I reached out to north face knowing they were no longer under warranty to ask if this was normal. I was told to mail them back and that I couldn't send pictures for an opinion. I want to buy another pair, but not until I get some real answers on what happened. The boots were in great condition, tons of sole left, but the rubber/plastic just seems very very inferior. You can see in the pictures. My other North Face products seem great, even a very old Ibex (1980's) bag I have from my father.

Was disappointed today to find my boots had ripped down the sides in the rubber and also where the leather meets the rubber. I have only had them a few years and they only see light wear, such as shoveling and wearing around town. I had originally set out to purchase a quality boot that would last for some time, but I was hoping for at least 5 years. Doesn't seem like an unrealistic request, but these boots were not made to last. This is where I will part ways with North Face for any footwear.

Agree with many others - poor quality. Too bad, boot is warm and comfortable. Wear is great, after a few years boots/soles look new. Unfortunately rubber parts just crack and blow out.

I liked the boot, but sizing is way off...which is disappointing.
Besides being very small, the boot felt bulky and probably only useful in the most extreme winter conditions.
I returned them and bought a different North Face boot which fit perfectly.

I've worn North Face boots and shoes for 12 years and I'm a size 11. I ordered a pair of these boots in size 11 and they felt like a size 9 on me. I returned them to a North Face store where the associate told me that they've had a ton of returns due to sizing issues on these boots (which is not pointed out on the website). I tried on a full size larger and it still didn't fit. Total bummer that a quality company like this can't get shoe sizing right.

Boots look great. However, you need to buy at least two sizes larger. My husband is a size 13 and I bought size 14. Way too small !!! No larger sizes so I'm giving up :(

I wear size 12. I read the reviews so I ordered size 13. I returned the 13s for size 14. I have now returned the size 14. they still are to small.
They look and feel like great boats, if you can get them to fit.

Wear size 12 in every shoe, but couldn't get foot all the way in this boot without toes curled. No way would going one size larger fit. Would need at least 2.

These boots run real small.I would suggest ordering 11/2 to 2 sizes larger than you normally wear.North Face was great about my return but I won't purchase a replacement pair until I get to go in a store and try them on.

Wore these for 1 and a half winters and they both ripped in the exact same place on the seam where the fabric meets the rubber.

Avoid these boots - worst quality product I have ever purchased. Why? My boots literally fell to pieces after minimal use (see the pictures). I really could not believe it when this happened. I had used them only a few times in the snow one winter, and they fell apart the next winter when I wore them around the house. They never even got dirty. Unfortunately, North Face's shoe warranty is only for 1-year. I strongly suggest avoiding these boots and going with a better quality brand that backs their shoes with a good warranty.
Disappointed,

Not waterproof as advertised. Nice looking boot if you don't mind getting your feet wet. I returned them and bought different northface boots that are waterproof.

I hope these are better than the Baltero 400 model (I know they are discontinued but they look very much the same) Rubber dried out, split, crumbled when I put them on for the first time this winter.

I bought these at REI and used them about 5 days per winter for 2 years. In the second year the outsole on one of the boots started coming off and the rubber on the rest of that boot started cracking. This was bizarre and clearly a manufacturing issue because only the right boot is affected and the left boot is pristine. I tried to return them to REI but they said their "lifetime materials and workmanship" warranty is only as long as the manufacturer warranty, which is only one year. I tried to get them replaced via North Face but they said they're only warrantied for a year. So apparently expecting 10 uses out of these boots is considered normal.

I bought these boots because I love my Chilkat III's and wanted to make sure I always had a pair even if these were to get discontinued. These were horrible. They fit about a full size small, there seemed to be less than half the insulation as the previous model, they were very uncomfortable, and overall just seemed rather cheaply made. Highly recommend the Chilkat 3. Do not recommend these.

Only a few initial hours in the cold made the plastic so brittle that on both sides the plastic lower half separated along the stitching. Also vertical splits in the plastic. Same poor north face customer service. They use an offshore call center. And they simply read from a script. No warranty help as I bought them over a year ago but with no snow in Texas did not get a chance to wear for the first time till two weeks ago. Stay away from north face boots.
