It is very different than previous version. It has a much better fit. The uppers seem to be much better. Stiffer feel in the heel. I wish the laces were improved but they are about the same.

When I first see the weight on website, it really freak me out! But when I got it in hand, its not that heavy. Really comfortable! 10 out of 10. Need more colarway.

This is the 3rd pair of Saucony's that I've bought in a years time, & all 3 pairs within a month have had the inside heel area wear out from use! I walk 4-5 miles a day, & my socks rub against the heel area & the CHEAP Material that ur using is CHEAP!!! Change the material, I'm walking not running, Get With It Saucony!

Ordered the largest size they had 15. Second pair . First fit perfect . Second was 1/2 smaller. Return for a 15 wide and that fit better. Wish they had a size 16. I'm 6'4 " 225 and where a 15 regular in all other shoes. Shoe is great !

I'm a very heavy person who has a very fat, flat foot. I've worn Asics for the past 10 years or so, typically their Nimbus models. After being disappointed with how the gel breaks down, or rather, how I break the gel down, I wanted to find a shoe that was more structurally sound, but still comfortable, as I had issues previously with other "structure" shoes like the Asics Gel Fortify. I think the Echelon strikes that balance well for me. They're not a very elegant shoe, not in the extra wide width, atleast, but they fit my foot extremely well. My toes don't feel squished, and my very minimal arch feels supported. My first day wearing them I did about 3 miles combined of walking and light jogging and they broke in well. I now have about 25 miles or so on them and are holding up. We'll see how long they are able to withstand the demands my weight puts them to, but for now they are a winner.

I'm obsessed! These shoes are the most comfortable things I've ever had on my feet! I have Planter Fasciitis, bone spurs and Degenerative disc disease from Scoliosis. If you have back pain and or foot pain, you need these shoes!

As some others have pointed out, the extra wide is no longer extra wide - the toebox is much narrower than the Echelon 7. Also, the heel is a little more rounded, curving into your heel. Hopefully they listen to the customers and make the Echelon 9 when it comes out more like the Echelon 7. I bought a shoe widener so hopefully I can squeeze a little more room out of them, I thought they would stretch more after two months.

I buy Saucony shoes because they are comfortable and they look cool. I am 74, with arthritic knees- my running days are long over.

I am really enjoying the fit of this shoe. It is truly made for flat-footed runners who do not over-pronate. I am loving this so far.

I have had other Saucony shoe models but at age 64 felt I needed something with a bit more support and comfort. Have had them 150 miles (3 wks x 50 mi/wk) and they're definitely one of the best running shoes I've ever owned. And at their price point, one of the best values.

I have run in this model for many years. The fit is consistent and the shoe provides great cushioning without being heavy and clunky. The wider toe box is a perfect fit for my foot.

The inside back of heel material tears up way to early!

I bought these for my husband and he said "give them 5 stars because they're really comfortable."

First pair of the Echelon 7 in a 14m. Found in time that it was actually to big, so I then ordered a pair of Echelon 13M. they are really comfortable shoes. More recently I had another issue with my left foot and I was told by the Podiatrist that we would be changing orthotics again and thought that the 13W would be better suited. I recently received those and as soon as my foot heals, I hope to get the new orthotics and the Echelon 8's and put them to the test. I really like the Echelon with the additional room, and find it to be the most comfortable I've worn. I highly recommend if you have or anticipate orthotics now or in the future. The larger toe box is veryy accomodating as well. The recent order was in black, and if they do as well as I anticipate, I will order another color. I do hope in time that Saucony will intro some additional colors

Still too narrow for a wide width. Bunion was poking out. Had to return it. Will order extra wide. Cushioning is great. Looks nice.

Great shoes, but they don't last well - heel wear is significant after only a few weeks. Probably my 5th pair in ~2 years, but they are the most comfortable run I've had.

Fits well with my son's AFOs. I wish they came in more colors.....
