I really wanted to love these shoes and I did find them quite springy and fast, setting a few PR's in them.
I did notice early on that they didn't have much lateral stability, especially in the heel foam. After running in them a few times I developed a soreness in my left leg tibialis posterior / achilles tendon area. I assumed it was the transition from snowy trails to road or possibly training too fast too soon. I continued running in them and the pain increased, becoming present even when walking and resting. It was still just in one leg, so I checked to see if there was a difference in the feel of the foam between left and right shoes but t appeared similar.
I started wearing my other Sauconys for my road and speed work and all the pain has gone away.
As much as a I like the possibility of more PR's in the Speeds, I won't risk wearing them again.

Too much material on the upper. I have the endorphin pro and they fit perfectly. I don't understand why the speed are advertised as the trainer for the pro and the speed have much more material and fit differently. A lot of money to spend on a pair of shoes that aren't right

I am a long-time neutral Saucony runner (kinvaras, breakthroughts, Zealots **my favorite**). I am about 6'4 and 225 and typically run between 4-8 miles a day. For me, these shoes feel great; upper feels great, the bottoms hold up well, have adequate room in the toe box and most importantly, they feel fast. However, the midsole at the heel does not seem stable. When i walk/run it almost seems like the foam breaks down too much causing the ankle to role slightly; perhaps it is because of my frame. I have ran for about 4 months in this shoe, because i really want to like them. However, this is the only shoe that has constantly caused me knee pain.
If you're a larger runner, you may want to try on this shoe before buying (ie before shelling out the 160 bucks). Perhaps if Saucony made the midsole slightly wider (and maybe made the drop a little less), it would be perfect.

I'm surprised by all the great reviews of this shoe. The upper is definitely snug and comfy with a nice roomy toe box. The drop of this shoe is deceiving as I do a fair amount of hill repeats for speed with this shoe and it got my calves big time. The most surprising thing about the shoe is the tread. Wears down so fast, also, good luck running thru water on sidewalk. Like ice skates. It has no grip. Cushioning is fair, but for some reason I just don't feel the roll. Maybe it's me! I would not buy these again as I have some better shoes in my line up. Also, I don't see the need for this shoe. Won't race in it, also, to me it fits in the 6 mile range..which is not a range I fall into much. I'm a 16 minute 5k, 33 min. 10k and have a long stride, but mid to forefoot strike. Average about 30+ miles a week and run anything from 50k to 5ks.

First of all, I would like to state that I have been a long time Saucony fan.
I have been running in the Kinvara's (since ver7) and the Type A (since ver4). I PR'd my first sub-4hr marathon in Kinvaras and PR'd many shorter distance races in Type A's. I'm very partial to shoes with 4mm drops and can tolerate some 6mm drops depending on the geometry of the shoe.
There was so much hype and many rave reviews (YouTube, blogs, etc.) about the new Endorphin Speed and Pro, but more about the Speed, so I decided to try out the Speed. I was hesitant about the 8mm drop. I ran an 8-mile @tempo pace and a 14-miler marathon pace to test them out. On both runs something felt off, but I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. I'm not sure I just needed to learn how to run in a plated shoe, or if it was the geometry, or the Speed roll. I then ran a marathon and that's where I began to really take notice of the issues I had with the shoe. I also had a post-marathon 12-miler, just to give them one final shot.
The Speeds ended up hurting the balls of my feet, more on the right foot than the left, which I attribute to the nylon plate. The shoes caused increased fatigue in my calves and feet (the longer the distance past 10 miles) which I have not felt in the Kinvara's, Type A's or other shoes. I am a naturally flat-footed, neutral runner who is a mid-foot/forefoot striker. I'm not sure if it was the SpeedRoll geometry, or the 8mm drop, or a combination of both, however I felt as if the shoe was artificially attempting to keep me in forefoot strike. It did not feel natural at all. And as I got tired in the longer distance (19-26 miles) it felt as if my heel started to strike first which began to be painful for my glutes.
It's easy to determine these shoes were a fail for me and my running form, which was very disappointing especially due to all the rave reviews. The shoes do feel a bit narrower than the Kinvara's and Type A's, but the upper stretched out enough to feel comfortable. Midfoot and heel hold were excellent. The construction and materials of the shoe were excellent and the shoe was true-to-size for me. The highlight of the shoe is the PeBax based foam. Even though overall shoe design fatigued my feet and calves, the foam felt spectacular underfoot. The soles of my feet did not get that burning feeling after a marathon as they have from many other shoes.
I would take that exact PeBax foam, strip out the nylon plate and SpeedRoll geometry, trim it to a 30-26mm stack height with a 4mm drop and a true neutral geometry, widen the base by 2-4mm and call it the Kinvara Speed or just replace the existing Kinvara. Now that would be shoe I would buy.

I have run over a thousand miles on several pairs of the Freedom ISO. I never had any wear problems with that shoe. The Endorphin Speed felt great right out of the box, however after only ~80 miles the sole of the shoe has worn down to the PWRRUN. These soles wore out faster than some Hoka's I used to run on and complain about.

how should I start. The shoe I got, is either a floor demo (which could be best case scenario) or unwanted one from some heavy tryouts. The bottom is so dirty! Debris attached to the bottom of the shoe. That is not the only thing. The shoe box is some kind of generic carton box which you typically get from refurbished goods. I will never buy anything from Zappos. it is a total waste of my time.

I am an avid saucony user and was very disappointed with this overpriced shoe. Although the shoe is very light and does provide am excellent bounce, the construction of the shoe is weak and causes me to pronate. after running in this shoes for a few weeks, i developed knee pain and now need to purchase a different shoe. Wish the description of the shoe better explained the stability.

I run about 50 miles a week. I have three other saucony shoes, they all are good but these Endorphin Speed are too narrow, especially the right shoe, it hurts my foot really bad and I have narrow feet. I should get a half size bigger, I didn't return them because I thought I'd be able to make them work, now I regret it, waste money.
