This might be a comparable shoe to the Brooks Adrenaline, but this shoe has no bounce and is hard as a rock. For the price it was not a good buy for me.

I've been buying ASICS for decades, and the gel kayano for the last 5-6 years. The Gel Kayano 26 fit perfectly. I ordered the 27 and I'm disappointed. While the overall construction is still fantastic, they've narrowed the toes significantly. I'm wearing a size 10 with a 4E width and my toes are pinched.
When you compare them to the 26 model, the difference is clear. The toes almost come to a point in this model.

Shhh, it's a Christmas gift. We'll let you know in January!
Butmy husband has loved his gel-kayanos in the past, so this is likely to be a winner.

I wanted to love these shoes since I'm a big fan of Asics in general, but after running with them for 6 months almost exclusively on a tread mill, I had to get a different pair of running shoes since the Asics were giving me constant shin splints, which might not be the case for everyone, but they really didn't work for me.

These shoes were not for me. As soon as I put them on they caused pain in my heels. They also suffered the same dimpling everyone has commented on about them around the front toe. Asics missed the boat on this model.

Cushioning is outstanding, but they definitely are a wide fit if you have narrower feet. Overall they run a bit on the large side for me.

I was in love with them at first but the first day I wore them I started noticing the crumpling everyone is complaining about in the toe box. You'll get them somewhere around 11:00 or 1:00 depending on how you walk & they just are there & will not go away once the dents & crumples show up.
Depending on how you walk or run it will either rub against your toe & annoy you or hurt. But either way it's unsightly on an expensive pair of shoes to have this happen right away. I'm honestly just tired of feeling it rubbing against my big toe on my right foot. It's completely obnoxious.
Otherwise the shoes feel good although they seem to run a little odd. They fit like gloves from the front of my arch back to the heel but in the toe box although I like them roomy like it is it seems a little bit too long which I think adds to the crumpling issues.
I'd stay away from this shoe and honestly any other from this brand or any other brand where the front of the shoe does not have some type of a toe guard that is stronger than the material behind it since there's no way to keep this from happening with this weak material being all the way around the front of the shoe. There's just simply no way that it won't have these creases, dents and crumples because it's too weak of a material.

The shoes are great and are very comfortable. However, as others have mentioned, there is a weird indent in the front by the toes. There are two little pieces of rubber behind the sides and above the toe. There's a gap between these two pieces, presumably to let the shoe flex in the front. But when it does, the fabric indents.
So far, it hasn't been a problem, but I could see it wearing out and ripping over time. If that does happen, I hope Asics stands behind the product. I've never had any other running shoes do this, and if I were to buy again, I'd probably buy another model. For $110, though, they aren't a bad deal.

These shoes make my feet sore. I have owned, or own, at least 12 pairs of Kayanos starting with version 22, these are the first pair to hurt my arches and the outside of my feet. I did notice that the arch support plastic changed from the 26 to the 27 and I am curious if this could be the cause. As I have worn the shoes I will say the pain is getting better with break in but I have never had this issue with the Kayano in the past, usually they are amazing right out of the box. Curious if asics would respond to the change of Space Trussic Design and if others have had this same issue.
I have been a lifelong Asics user, I am a huge supporter of their products. However, this shoe hits different and would like to know if the change in design could be the culprit.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

The Kayano 27 has some differences from the 26 that I am not a fan of. The material of the shoes seems to be cheaper than on the 26 and does not seem like it will hold up as well. The shoe laces where changed and I can't stand the material they used for them.

Very comfortable shoe. I just ran five miles in them and my legs don’t feel like I did at all. Unfortunately I will be retuning them for a structural issue at the tip of both shoes.

I ordered a 4E but it feels more like a 2E. I also ordered these shoes thinking it was going to support my overpronated feet but it doesn’t have the support I was expecting. I’m going to keep it wearing it here and there but I’m going to stick with Brooks going forward.

Very good product overall. Comfortable, yet giving decent support. The major problem is the material over the big toe shreds easily and leaves a gaping hole. This has been a problem with my last three pair of ASICS shoes. You may ask why I still buy them? Except for the hole in the material they are a very comfortable shoe. It's not a good look for the Asics brand when folks have a toe sticking out of an expensive shoe.

This my third pair of Gel-Kayano, all size 14 standard width.
The first pair was a 24 and fit perfectly. The second pair was a 25 and was a little more narrow. This 27 is a little longer and as narrow as the 25. Very inconsistent sizing.

I have extreme difficulty finding properly fitting non-basketball shoes with a size 16 foot. I found these and loved them ... very comfortable and propertly fitted on all sides. The one big downside is that the tread was entirely worn off in about 2 months. I've never head a pair of shoes burn through tread that quickly. Admittedly I did wear them on two trips to hot climates (Orlando and DC) ... so maybe the tread is super soft and susceptible to excessive wear on hot pavement? I dunno. Like I said I've never had a pair of shoes wear through that quickly before ... for a $120 pair of sneakers to only give me 2 months of usage I'm pretty disappointed for shoes that have only worn for everyday walking (no running, treadmills, etc). I am hoping the other two models I purchased hold up better but we shall see.

Not as much cushion as I hoped. Comfortable space in the toes and good support in the heel of the shoe. Definitely upgrade the insole as with most running shoes.
Already thinking about my replacement of these sneakers because I can tell they won't last. They look good though.

For me, a big guy, was this a comfortable big guy running shoe? No. I could be wrong, but for my flat feet, my
feet hurt some. Everyone told me to get it, and I did, but will I buy it again? No. It is a minimalist running shoe
with tons of support, but my feet hurt somewhat when I'm wearing them.

I bought these shoes because I traditionally have a good history with Asics. I needed a running shoe for an overpronator and this is a recommended fit. However on my first and only run in these shoes I started feeling shin splints. This is a sign that I'm not getting the support I need. I usually go with 1000s or 2000s but I thought I'd try this fit. Oh well.

Consistently through the years Asics has NOT constructed the shoe with enough resilience in the toe box of the shoe. After 6 months my toes begin to wear through the toe box prematurely. Other than that the fit and comfort are great.

Great shoe, probably. I had to send them back because they were too narrow for my son, even though his last pair of standard width Asics fit fine.

I've been wearing Kayano's (plus shoe insert for years). This version feels narrow in width in the toe box area. Also, the laces are definitely shorter than previous versions as I can't tie these shoes using the "heel lock" method.
