I have several pairs of the Kayano 27. Given I liked the others, I bought a black pair. Well, I am not pleased with the black pair. The material is different from the other colors I purchased and they are wider for reason. I feel like the black pair is a completely different shoe from the others. I also think Asics should provide better colors for women's shoes. Not all women like pastel colors.

Quality construction, however it would seem that not all shoes are made the same. My left shoe is much tighter than the right therefore making it very uncomfortable!!!!

Purchased as a gift for Father's Day. A Great shoe, love the fact that it's wide fit. Finding a shoe that gives great support and is wide enough to bring comfort ability. My only disappointment comes in that the shoes were shipped in their original box, and then placed into a shipping bag. This allowed for the box to become damaged and torn in arriving to its destination.

They would have been very comfortable, however I have wide feet (I am a woman) and thought I would try the men's 4E since none of the women's shoes are wide enough. This was not wide enough either.

I have 2 pairs of Gel Kayano 25's. I like them much better. The 27's are tighter in the middle and thus hard to get on and off. They are not narrow size and are same size as my 25's, i just notice a big difference in the two.

Hard to get the right size as stores does not seem to have the 4E and after ordering online and using the shoes a few times I definitely should have selected 1/2 a size down. This although my old kayano was the exact same size.

almost perfect. I was going for a Nike free last shape but with deeper toe box and more cushioning. I ordered the wide based on reviews runs a little small (I don’t wear wide) these just had too narrow a toe box at the very end. with my toe problems ingrown toenails on big toes and hammer toes these didn’t quit fit the bill. so if you want a shoe with barefoot feel but with more cushioning order the wide and see if it works for you.

compared to my beloved (but ugly) Kayano 25s, these are lighter, narrower, and have inferior construction, support, and cushioning. The toe box started collapsing immediately, and what arch support they do have collapsed within months. Narrow in the middle, so inserting orthotics is a chore. they are more attractive, streamlined, and less boxy in the heel than the 25s.

They are not made like they used to be. Seem to break down quickly and the cost is going up. But still comfortable.

very disappointed. long time Gel Kayano wearer, back to pre Kayano 17. Just not the same fit. Quality control is awful. Bunched up lining in heel and creases in toe box. Not enough padding under toes. They need to return to Korean manufacturing.

I was not buying this shoe for anything other than a good, everyday wearer. I am a steady 11.5 with a standard width. The 11.5 in this shoe was too small with my toes hitting the end of the toe box. It was also quite tight (narrow) in the toe box. I went up to the size 12 and had a good fit in the length but still uncomfortably tight. To be fair, I do come across shoes from time to time that I do need to go wide in; so that is a thing that happens about 15% of the time for me. I would say take a walk around the house in these to get a feel for the length and make sure you are not jammed up. And then leave them on for dinner or watching TV to be sure that the width does not give you problems. Its pretty easy to tell if a shoe is too short but it may take 30-45 min to realize that if they are too tight. These would have been my first pair of Asics so I don't know if all of their shoes tend to be a bit narrower and shorter or if it was just this specific line. Just pay close attention to the fit as, for me at least, they were different than the majority of other shoes.
I'd also recommend:
Altra, New Balance, Ecco, Sperry, Keen, Johnston & Murphy

Shoe is good, didn't feel much different from the Nimbus only complaint is the right shoe feels a bit different than the left on my foot but that may just be my build.

I purchased the Gel-Kayano 25 a year ago. They were excellent. I purchased the Gel Kayano 27 a week ago. Same price as the 25. $160.00. I wore the 27 for a few days. No comparison to the to the 25. They are not as comfortable. They don’t provide good support. I’m disappointed. I thought these were an upgrade but not so. I will not buy again.

These shoes lasted 8 months being used 3-5 times a week. The front inside upper plastic was not wide enough, and the light fabric was easily cut allowing pinky toe to protrude. Still not a hot shoe and comfortable. Price was kind of high for amount of use.

The crease on the right shoe near the right big toe rubbed the toe and never got any better. The left shoes crease was not as deep and defined. I could not get the right crease to release.

You have to have changes the design of the gel sole.....this sneaker is half as comfortable as they used to be....As a nurse, I am on my feet constantly and an Anesthesiologist and 2 other RNs agree that the 27s are not as comfortable as its predecessors

I bought these shoes for my daily walk. They look and fit great, but I was surprised how quickly the soles wore down. I have had other Asics and used them in the same manner, but never had the soles been like this.

I like the room in the toe box and the cushioning is just right. However the material used inside lining the heal area is too clingy and snags the cloth off my socks and builds up with balls of cloth. Ultimately this usually leads to the material ripping and making the shoe prematurely wear. I do not have this issue with other brands.

Great looking shoe, but it hurts the outside of my right foot after about 5 minutes of being on my feet. Bought as a running shoe, but will just use as a casual shoe.
