Forefoot too narrow. The attached tongue put to much pressure on the side of my foot. The shoe looks good and is well made.

Something changed between version 6 and 7. I was really disappointed in my purchase of Hoka 7 and pray the company will bring out an equivalent of Clinton 6.

This would be an extremely comfortable shoe if it was wide enough. Even though I ordered it extra wide my foot is just too wide to allow these to be comfy

I am an RN and Hoka is Great for working on Hard floors all day! Bondi has been my go to for several years now but the colors weren't right for me this go round so I tried Clifton. Long Story Short.I have an ugly pair of Bondis on!

I gave my boyfriend his pair of Hoka shoes. Was excited for him but turned out size 12 was not confortable.
Returned and changed to size 12W but still painful around the arch of his feet.

Too narrow. I bought these along side the Bondi 7 and there is a definite difference in their fit. Both of them are medium width. These Clifton feel much tighter and also longer. I wear orthodics and with then in, the Clifton are very uncomfortable.

I used to have the HOKA Clifton Edge which I wore out. The Clifton 7 feels much harder under my feet, and I think because of that my knees are more sore after a run

I have bought 3 pairs of these shoes. Mostly for walking the dogs and general daily use due to their comfort. But I can never get more than a year out of them. They seem to fail around 7-8 months of light use as I generally wear boots for work. I started running again and it I got about 5 miles before the side of this shoe completely blow out near the toe box. Previous Cliftons had the same issues. I want to love this shoe, but not worth buying a new pair every 8 months.

This is the 2nd pair I purchased was from a runners store. I love the first pair and continue to wear it every day for work. I stand 10 hours a day. They are the best and have totally changed my world. However the 2nd pair I bought online and I wore for the first day, they turned out feeling very hard and hurt my feet. I returned them with no problem. I will go to the same store again to try them on personally this time. Maybe even look at different models. These are great shoes.

Great shoe, I can feel the support and comfort. The only downside is that they are way too small width wise. I use a size wide for every shoe, their version of wide would be comparable to a normal shoe size for me. Also, the variety of colors is VERY limited for those with wide feet, even more so for X-Wide.

The heel cup isn't very good. I have fat heels and even mine won't stay firmly in the shoe. The width and length are fine. The slipping causes me to have to grip and therefore my feet go numb.

I have never purchased wide shoes due to having narrow feet. These shoes in the regular fit squeezed my feet enough to be very uncomfortable. I also found the webbing that holds the tongue in place uncomfortably up the left side of my right foot. I have tried different socks with different thicknesses to no avail. I purchased these to help with heel pain, which they did, but there are about three pressure points that make the shoes unwearable to me.

To tight in the toe bed....And I do not have wide feet. In fact, one side is tighter than the other. They felt great at first, but after a long run, not the case. However, for as big as they are, sole-wise, they are surprisingly light. A bit bummed with the purchase as I don't see me running with these after 2 runs.

I am a super fan of the Bondi 7 and purchased the Clifton hoping for more of the same. Unfortunately, the Clifton features a tongue that is attached to the sole via two straps - one on each side. I understand this is called 'sock-fit'. I think it is for people who don't tie their shoes properly!
In addition, the arch support is different between these two shoes and the Clifton does not fit my foot the same 'hand in glove' way the Bondi does.

Hard plastic in the heel is not cushioned at all and causes a good deal of pain when wearing, even for walking! Disappointing given once the 30 days are expired you own, good or bad. Don't wear shoes in the house and as a result did not find out until too late. Still cooped up!

I am a 9 wide, so I purchased the 9 EE. The shoes were so tight I could barely get my foot into them. My toes were crunched and the width felt very narrow. The shoe itself is very attractive, just way too small and narrow. I would recommend Brooks Dyad instead. The 9 EE is perfect, like walking on a cloud.

My Cliftons began ripping at the seams near the ball of the foot within 6 months. Too bad because these are a nice square toe design and comfy. Also, the insert is way too thick for the shoe making it difficult with thick socks.

I switched from other running shoes to Hokas a few years ago for the cushioning (due to shin issues on long runs), and have had (and loved) multiple pairs of each of the past few models. I was very excited to get my 7's.
However, upon trying them on, I immediately was turned off by the new tongue gusset, which is barely mentioned in the product description. This ~2 inch strip of mesh connects each side of the tongue to the interior sole of the shoe (below the removable insole) and is extremely restrictive. I cannot run in them as is - this is extremely uncomfortable and is likely to cause blisters or worse on long runs.
I am extremely disappointed and will either return the shoes or cut the gusset out myself. The only reason I am not making this review a 1 star is because the rest of the shoe seems similar to the 6 - so if the gusset doesn't bother you, they might be acceptable.
I've never been compelled to write an online product review until this one. Extremely disappointed.

Size generally OK (as per my previous pair), but the toe box area felt narrow immediately despite loosening the laces and wearing a few times. Wearable but not comfortable. Disappointed, as I liked my previous pair very much, even though the inside of the heel area wore out and resulted in a hole on both shoes after about a year resulting in occasional scratchy feeling in heeling and sometimes small blister. These are not a suitable replacement and I am switching back to Saucony.
