Hands down, the most comfortable running shoe I have ever worn.
Although super plush, I would not recommend for gym training.
They're too soft for weightlifting, and the rubber on the sole is very thin, making it susceptible to separation, which occurred to me during a circuit of burpees and running on pavement.

i like the support and look, i ordered a 10.5 2E wide and it feels tight on the width! i can feel the seam between the bottom sole and side. The length is right i don't move foot stays secure but after an 8 hour day or less im happy to kick them off!

The worst thing about the Clifton 7 is the new mesh gusset to prevent "tongue migration." The upper itself seems narrower than previous versions of the Clifton, and the mesh gusset only exacerbates that feeling to the point that my feet started to tingle. It strikes me as a "solution" in search of a problem; I've been running for 30 years and never noticed that "tongue migration" was an issue.
It's not a deal breaker--I spent 15 minutes unlacing the shoes, very carefully cutting out the stupid mesh gussets, and then relacing them. But it just seems stupid that I have to do that to a brand new pair of shoes just to keep my feet from falling asleep. Other than feeling narrower, these run true to size and they still have the nice feel of earlier versions of the Clifton. If you have a higher instep or wider feet, the Bondi might work better for you.

I purchased the Clifton 7 wide, size 10. Overall the shoe is ok, this is only my second pair of HOKA shoes I have purchased, and this time I used the online "Shoe Finder" tool to select my shoe type. I selected the underpronation and plush cushioning. I tend to run outside and sometimes I do use the treadmill. I had previously purchased the Marahi 4 and fell in love with the shoe! It made me a HOKA shoe lover! The Clifton 7 rides lower and it does seem to be less comfortable then my previous shoe. I didn't return them with in the 30 days since I really wanted to like them and thought that maybe they just needed to be broken in. I definitely won't buy this model again and I probably will go back to the Marahi. This shoe is still more comfortable then most other brands out there.

Had the Clifton 3s for a couple years and they were amazing. These are nowhere near the same feel.

Love the look and lightness; decent cushioning for my 200 lb frame. However, the pair I received are narrower then other 11.5 2E Hoka's I've purchased.

They were not wide enough for my husband so we had to return it. It was free return and payment was in my account quick. He will need to try it on. We will go to a nearby store to try them on.

These shoes feel amazing! I have flat feet & sensitive joints and the Clifton makes a huge difference. Definitely the most comfortable sneakers I own!
My only complaint is that the soft marshmallowy foam used for the midsole is also used for much of the outsole (instead of a more durable high-abrasion rubber).
The outsole has very small and very thin placements of high-abrasion rubber only at the heel and forefoot. The end result is that the outsole also has the durability of a marshmallow. It seems to me this shoe's outsole was purposely designed to wear out quickly.
With a more durable outsole and more colors available in wide sizing, I'd give this shoe 5 stars.

My aging knees demanded I start running in a highly cushioned running shoe, so I purchased my first pair of Hokas. The Clifton is definitely a stacked shoe and it takes a bit getting used to the soft landing. But that IS what I was looking for. Since the foot strike is so different, I had some foot soreness, but I think this will resolve as I get used to the soft foot strike. I normally purchase a regular width shoe, but after reading a number of reviews claiming the Clifton 7 regular is a bit narrow, I decided to go with the wide version. Glad I did as the wide version fit me fine. I did experience one one problem. The side wall collar of the shoe by my outside ankle bone, right foot, rubs against the bottom of my ankle bone. After 5 miles or so this rubbing resulted in major irritation. I've had this problem with a few other brands and only with my right foot, so it must be my right foot bone geometry. I had to insert a foam heel shim under the footbed, raising my heel to compensate and that solved the problem. Back to the reason I bought these...there was a noticeable reduction in my knee pain when running in the Clifton. So overall these delivered what I was looking for in a highly cushioned shoe.

The arches are too close to the heel and are uncomfortable. I am a surgeon and was told that this shoe was recommended by nurses who are on their feet a lot, but I find them uncomfortable.

I feel very limited in that the extra wide comes only in Bondi 7 gray and black. I took a chance on the Clifton 7 wide and although I like having a color, I really have challenged my feet to fit into the wide.

The sizes was good, but the width of the shoes was too small. I usually buy Altra but i wanted to try a different brand and Hokas came up as a box toe shoe. I went with Hokas because they had a WW and thought that it would fit perfect, but it was a disappointment when i received the shoes.

I walk 5 miles a day, I was hoping they would be more comfortable than other shoes I bought in the past, but they aren't.

I have several pairs of HOKA's. My favorite pair are the Clifton's 6. But the Clifton 7's I just bought are not as comfortable and now have some elastic band connecting the shoe and the tongue. Not very comfortable. Why did you mess up a good shoe?

The clifton 7 is lightweight but did not have enought support. Exchanged these for the gaviata leather support shoes and payed for its shipping cost.

Here is the thing this shoes shoes feel like you are running on clouds and as long that is all you want then you will love them but i need a bit more responsiveness from my shoes. today i went on my first run with them a very slow 4 mile run around 9min por mile but although the shoes felt incredibly cushioning to the point i couldnt even feel the road at all they have no responsiveness, the felt mute. i was starting to feel tired because nothing push me forward. hopefully the make the 8 a bit more responsive.

Overall, I find the shoes supportive and very cushioned. I'm about 10 miles in and that's been walking and light jogging as my knee has been bothering me recently. Hence the new and super cushioned Clifton 7. So I haven't really put them to my normal everyday 3-5 mile run.
I will say that I used the Hoka.com sizing guide. I noted that I wear/wore a size 13 in two different Nike models and a size 13 Clifton was recommended. But when I received them, they were way too big. I returned them for a size 12 which fit way better. However, I have really flat feet and the Cliftons hurt the outsides of my feet just behind my pinkie toes. It's getting better, probably due to some breaking in. I hope it continues to improve as I put in a few more miles. Otherwise, I'll be utilizing the 30 day return policy.

I love the new design, however the sizing doesn't match that of my Clifton 5s or Clifton 6s. The Clifton 7 is longer than earlier versions. Also, I wish the sole of the Clifton was more durable. I love the shoe, but wish the sole didn't wear out as fast.

I run with Brooks ghost since 2012 and have run 12 marathons along with all the training in them. I've never had a problem with them. But with the Hokas the left shoe has very little arch support compared to the right one period. This is probably a quality control issue at the production site. I like how light and airy the shoes feel when running period.

I bought these shoes to see if they would be a better shoe to walk in than my other brands. This shoe will take some getting use to being that it has more heel/cushion than my normal shoes. They feel good but again being the sole is thicker, I have to remember to pick up my feet a little higher when wearing them.
