look no further for the best 'big' cushy shoe. The Stinson is the best of its kind! I've had at least 5 pairs of Stinson shoes, from various generations. I've also have lots of Hoka Challenger and some shoes from Brooks to round off my trail shoe quiver. I keep coming back for more. There are two reasons someone would own this shoe: (1) they run on extremely lumpy trails, or (2) to avoid body aches. I am with the body ache group. The Stinson is a comfortable, nice, cushy and flowy ride. You sacrifice speed and efficiency to get that kind of comfort and cushion. For example: Running intervals with my peers, I find that I am with my group (or ahead) with Hoka Challenger. With Stinson, keeping up with the same group is impossible. On long runs, I can't go as far or as fast with Stinson because they are slow. I choose other shoes when I run with my friends, so I don't have to work so hard to keep up with them. And, I find that I do not stride (gait cycle) as long with the Stinson, probably because I am not running at my full speed. Also, the rubber is thin and tends to wear out quickly. Yet, I am a committed Stinson fan because I am a big person. I am 6'1" and weigh 198lbs, I am 47 years old, and training everyday is easier when I do it on a big cushy shoe (running 30+ miles per wk). I am former marathon runner, who never fully mastered efficient running technique. But, I never have body aches with this shoe. The shoe is very well made, much higher quality overall than the Brooks shoes that I have worn. I usually have three pairs of shoes in my quiver: light, medium, and heavy. The Stinson is the heavy shoe, which I wear about 50% of the time. The Challenger is my medium shoe, about 45% of the time. The light shoe is for races shorter than 5k and track workouts. I think it's important to have a shoe that's lighter than Stinson in your quiver, so you can occasionally run at high speeds and use that full stride gait.

I haven't been able to find a truly comfortable sneaker in years. I'm on my feet a lot & these shoes get me through the day without sore feet.

I have purchased more than a dozen Hocus and this is their best product for trails and all around comfort and stability. I find it runs big. I am usually a size 10 but I twisted my ankle too many times and switched to a 9.5 and it's perfect

I see many reviews complain that the new edition of any given model is worse than the originalthis shoe breaks that trend. It is softer cushioned and lighter than my last pair. I love this shoe for Rocky, rooty, muddy slope trail runs in Washington DC. Nike and Adidas completely fail to meet my needs.

On my 5th pair of Stinson ATR 6. They provide me with the max cushioning I need, are extremely durable (usually get around 500 mi./pair), and have served me well for races of all distances up to 100-milers.

Been running in the Stinson ATR for years. I would not be running trails today without HOKA products, especially the Stinson ATR. The cush that this shoe provides is like no other shoe on the market. Thank you HOKA for continuing to innovate, and bring the best products possible to the market

These are amazing shoes - fabulous comfort and fit… I was looking for a womens size 8.5 in these and they were sold out. Needed them for an upcoming hiking trip as my feet have some issues apparently from years of long distance running… most regular hiking shoes don’t work for me… don’t provide enough cushioning … I used Stinson ATR when I hiked part of the camino de Santiago and am so glad Hoka is still making these… I was so happy to find these in mens size 7…. (Womens size converted to mens size is usually 1.5 sizes lower) I learned about this trick years ago when I first started running… mens shoes sometimes feel and fit better than the womens as long as you can find them in a lower size… anyway these Hoka felt great right out of the box and the tread is fantastic…. I plan on buying more when they are back in stock. Love Zappos for one day shipping and free returns…. They have always been reliable and prompt. An online company that is trustworthy is a great thing!

Love this shoe, and it may be my all-time favorite. Initially bought this 2 or so years ago to address plantar fasciitis while running and while working in my garage. Plus, it started to feel like my feet were taking a beating in other shoes while running. Once upon a time I ran in the 5 finger shoes. This shoe plus a running insert took care the PF within a few weeks, and it got better and better as time passed. I wear these everywhere: trail running 4-5x week, hiking, walking, and working around the house. I have multiple colors and about 7 pair in total. I keep buying them because at some point they will discontinue the shoe and undoubtedly mess with the design. If you are looking for running comfort and enjoyment this is highly recommended. Just want something to walk in and work around the house, perfect. I typically trail run in a pair until the tread mostly wears down, then I use that pair for around the house and switch to a new pair for running. It is a great recycling program and have yet to throw a single pair away, the comfort and function just keep on going.

I've never written a review for something I wear before, but these shoes are something else. I didn't know shoes could be as comfortable and intuitive. I'm going to be a long time customer for sure!

These are , mercifully, wider than last years model. Thank you!! Maybe a little longer as well. Lasted about 350 miles of Arizona Trail NOBO and another 100 miles of training hikes until soles started wearing too thin. Tops still looked brand new.

I love these shoes Hoka was introduced to me by my trainer. They are now my go to running shoes. They feel great, true to size, does not slip or rub my feet. I run typically 2-3 miles every other day. Not too tight and feet feel great during the run and after. Lots of support for my arches and ball of my foot.

I've had a couple pairs of HOKA Bondi shoes for several years and found them to be excellent. And then tried Stinson 6 this year and found those to be even better. Lighter than Bondi and more bounce in the step. Already bought a second pair.

I purchased the Hoka Stinson ATR 6 because I was looking for a shoe that was both durable and comfortable when hiking long distances (15-17 miles) on trails made of packed earth and gravel. After comparing the Hoka Stinson with other trail runners, I settled on the Stinson because it's super comfortable and light weight (I've never had a blister, hot spot, or other problem) and sufficiently rugged. I love the stack-height too (37/32mm) as it cushions the journey. This spring, I plan to hike the Camino de Santiago with my Stinsons.
