Love this shoe. I took these on a hiking weekend in Yosemite. Did ~30 miles of hiking over 2 days and these shoes where so comfortable. My feet normally get tore up on these longer hikes but not with the Stinson ATR 6. The only issues I had was part of the trend fell off. I was pretty rough with these over the two days but I would not think that would happen. Aside from that, loved the shoe.

They add a nice spring to your step but if you have a tendency to roll over the outside maybe not the best shoe, these didn't work for me for that reason. Found my foot liked to roll inside of the shoe itself if not walking on even surfaces.

I wouldn't buy this model again, the sole of the shoe is hard and unstable, I have another model and they are great, but this model is not so good

These are the only Hoka's I can wear, but I wouldn't buy it again. It is too soft, and it strains my ankles and feet. Yet, these were wide enough and allowed my feet room to sit without constraint from the sides or frames of the shoe.

The foot insert has square edges which causes a problem with foot pain on just my left foot. I normally put in 3rd party insert soles from Power Step, but for a day just decided to use the shoe as is. I think the square edge of the insoles can be removed and many other users may not see any discomfort then.... jmho

I just purchased my 6th pair of Stinsons, and finally decided it was time to leave a comment. I love the body of the shoe, its the only Hoka that really fits my foot the best(the Goat being a close second). However, as a touted trail running shoe(I spend many of my days doing just that), the rubber tabs on the souls peel off after several runs, almost on a comical regularity, and eventually over weeks, the foam on the bottom turns into a mushy hodge-podge with no grip. I'm not an aggressive runner, or scrambling through talus, or running on gravel, I'm not an overly brawny guy either. Really my only complaint with the shoe are the durability of the souls and I finally decided, maybe I should consider another brand? if you replaced the current design with the same Vibram soul of "The Goat" it would be one of the best trail running shoes on the planet!

Had my Stinson for a year. Like them a lot, the fitting was great and very comfortable. Decided to order a second pair a few weeks ago, but the lugs on the new pair came off after second use (total of ~10 miles trail run). Very disappointed. Hope it is uncommon.

Very comfortable and light, but not durable enough to be a trusty hybrid shoe. Already seeing wear and tear beyond what I expected for these. Can't say I'd buy again.

I lave this model of shoe (Stinson) and that's all I've previously bought (6 pairs over the years) but They seem to keep getting narrower and narrower in width. I had to return these and exchange them for another model (Stinson not available in wider widths).

I bought my first pair of Hokas (Clifton 8 --- Black --- 10.5 Medium) about a year ago. 5 Stars all around! Perfect fit! Still love them! I wanted to try this pair (Stinson ATR 6 --- 10.5 Medium) to have something different...plus, the reviews were great. The good...style, support, and stability. The bad...the toe box is WAY smaller than the Clifton 8 (I have loosened the strings, too) but, the MAIN reason I am returning these is a manufacturer's defect in the HEEL of the LEFT shoe (the CUSHIONING has delaminated [or simply was never attached] on the inside). Each time I put my foot into the UNSTRUNG shoe, the cushioning slides down to the bottom of my heel leaving all of the fabric at the top. I've never had a shoe do this. However, since I like everything else about it, I want to return this pair and try a pair of Size 11.

This is my fourth pair of the Stinson ATR, and I still like the overall shoe, however I do not like the new lacing system that has used some plastic parts, maybe just for appearance sake, instead of the normal system. They are hard to adjust in a uniform way, and can end up applying unequal pressure to the side of the foot that is painful. I will not buy them again unless this is changed.

Great fit, looks, and super great comfort- on level ground for the early life of the shoes. The substantial high cushioning quickly degrades collapsing the sole more on the side that takes most of the force of walking. My feet soon were pushing to the outside off the now sloping shoes. I have turned my ankle on a slight hill in the yard. Not suitable for rigorous rocky hikes due to height of sole. Love my Hokas, but these like others Hokas I have owned wear soles very quickly, these have been retired with much less use than is acceptable to me.

This is a review for a Hoka Stinson ATR6 (supposedly it's for their hiking and trail running). I know these are highly rated shoes BUT I have a normal foot (size 7 - B width). I walk on both sidewalks and dirt trails each morning -- despite the complex double lacing over the tongue of this shoe, it was very sloppy on my foot. Although I generally need a wider toe box, this toe box was very loose and long (as if it belonged to an 8 or larger size shoe). Honestly the inner sole was cushiony but there was no arch support at all so I cannot understand people saying that this shoe is good for someone with plantar fasciitis?? I could not wear them so I gave the shoes away to someone else who wanted to try them.
I'd also recommend:

I can see that people who really want a lot of cushioning would like these, but this comes with a very thick sole that made me feel like I was wearing platform sneakers. This also makes it feel like I’m not getting feedback from the ground. I got my normal size, for wearing with thicker socks, and they were a half to full size too big. I will try something with more moderate cushioning.

I work in a bldg with concrete floors, walking all day long. I try wearing different pair of shoes daily (rotate 3 times). I thought I would try a pair of 'running' shoes. Everyone has nothing but the best of comments about the Hokas. 5 of 7 co-workers wear them daily. I went for it and do regret it as I am used to wear 'hiking' style shoes, like the Merrells, Eccos, Danner and have added an insole so I can go the 8 hours in comfort. All those pair of shoes needed replacements so I got pair of Nikes (hard sole), another pair of Merrell chameleon and Hokas. When I add the insole they are much, much better but the front are still too cushy. Any suggestions? I do like the look

The walking on padding takes adjustment. No a big fan of the laces either - too small and narrow. Will not buy again although they are great walking over rocks.

The cushion feels great but the height takes getting used to. The width of the shoe is excellent for extra traction and comfort. The tread is not durable and doesn't grip well enough. Available color options are really focused towards road running and should have more earth tone colors when designed for the trail. I'm still looking for a better shoe.

I love these shoes but as stated in headline the heal center soft rubber wears out too quickly. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn and I have bought them for others as a gift.

started getting some muscular pains from the soles being so lofty. I dont feel like I was able to get a good solid landing on the shoe strike. always felt like I was floating . I know that sounds weird but def a little out of control.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?
