People at work have been raving about Hokas and that they are comfortable and prevent fatigue. My boss gave me a gift card to buy a pair and so I did. I got the Stinson because it was recycled material. They feel and look good. I do think they have some extra cushion in the heal to help prevent fatigue. But they are good. One downside is they are terribly "squeeky " on wet floors.

They take a bit of getting used to...they are like walking on air...:) Loves the roll and cushion! I have to add orthodics. Seem okay so far! Little pricey, ya get what ya pay for. So far so good!

Though a bit on the heavy side, the Hoka Stinson ATR is an excellent all-terrain running shoe and has been my go-to choice since 2014. My complaints with this shoe are: 1) The outside rear corner sole wears excessively fast, 2) I really wish HOKA would produce this shoe in an E width like they do with the Bondi, Speedgoat and Challenger ATR and 3) HOKA should put a loop between the laces and toe to accommodate gaiter hooks. As for the sole wear, though it does bother me, I still am getting nearly 500 miles on average and currently have a pair in my rotation with 600+ miles. I'm 185 pounds and wear a men's size 14 US. As with all HOKA models, you should size up 1/2 size.

Really like the shoes, foot feels secure inside, very comfortable as are all the Hoka's I have had. If i had to pick out one minor flaw, when I lace them up and double tie them, the lace are a bit long. They need to be tucked in the shoes to protect them. Perhaps making them about 3-4 shorter might be better?

This shoe great on dirt roads & trails that are not to steep or rocky. They are way more stable than I thought they would be. Put them on out of the box to go for quick 3 mile run, ended up doing 4 they run so nice. Ran in some rocky terrain & they have a tendency to roll if land on a rock on the inside of your foot. Love the fit & shoe it just has its place.

I love the cushion and that I can run with them on road when there are gaps in the trails, like here in SF. I should say I wear an 11 wide Speedgoat and a 12 Stinson ATR 6 and both fit just right.

They're comfortable. Thick sole takes a little getting used to. Almost tripped going dow the stairs, but I suppose the think sole is what makes them comfortable to walk in.

I like the product ,however I bought a new pair because my old pair had holes in the big toe area after only a few months , I sent the old pair back to Hoka and haven't heard a word about what there plan is to keep me as a happy customer .

I had some ankle soreness after my first week. Also a small issue with wider than typical sole allowed for slight blistering. I like the shoe but as stated by others it's a tool shoe to use with others in a rotation

I bought these since a Hoka rep recommended them as a trail version that is close to my Bondi7 sz 9 wide women's shoes. Stinsons seem to have more volume + width. Men's 8 slipped a little in heel + slightly too narrow. Women's 9 fit pretty well. I planned to keep these vs women's Speedgoat sz 9w. But, about an hour from leaving for TN backpacking trip the lateral border of my left foot became sore. From the exterior of the shoe, I couldn't see why I would have the discomfort. Feeling inside the shoe I discovered that there are straps that attach the tongue to the bottom of the shoe. In theory, a great idea to keep the tongue centered. However, one of the straps was starting to roll over on itself and created a pressure area against my foot. At the last minute, I decided to keep the Speed Goat, and I was so happy that I could comfortably, even with my problem right foot, hike over all of the rocky terrain very comfortably without a shoe break-in time needed! That being said, I still like the Stinsons, and if Hoka can tell me I can cut off the straps holding the tongue without any other problems occurring, I will probably pick up a pair of them as well. I don't have a lot of padding to my feet and this causes more problems than the average person. I do recommend the Stinsons! Women's Stinsons (sz 9.5 fit me) seemed to run a little smaller but a little wider with nice volume. This is in comparison to my sz 9w Bondi 7 and sz 9w Speed Goat, both women's shoes.

I'm not giving 5 stars yet since it is taking time for me to get used to the fit. But I really like these shoes. The ideas behind the design make sense to me. They appear to be well-engineered and made with quality materials and workmanship. So far they have been mostly very comfortable. They are also very durable.

The Stinson is a great shoe. Don't get me wrong. I recommend it. But I have a complaint or two. The ATR 4 had a much more comfortable upper. What did you do? The upper was more flexible and breathable in the ATR4. And what about these colors!!!??? They are getting uglier and uglier. Are you trying to make people stop buying them? Where are all the bright pretty colors with whites and yellows and bright blues? The very first Stinsons were pretty. They are geting uglier. And I like seeing the big word HOKA on the shoe. The original HOKAs had a big HOKA on the shoe. But I like bright colors. White is a great shoe color. I may go to a Bondi to get a prettier shoe. buy HOKA everyone. they are great shoes. the Stinson is great and supportive. But, for some reason shoe engineers often make shoes worse instead of better. I just don't get it.

It is very comfy on walking or standing but I wish they Cary wide sizes because it is little tight on the sides.

I've juxtaposed the ATR 6 with the very first Stinson. Yup, as with the Bondi B and the Clifton 1, I've been with Hoka since Day 1. Been running for more than 3 decades. Did the 800/1500 double back in college, and continue to enjoy this wonderful activity to this day. I can do anything from 100m repeats to an Ultra on the Stinsons, even on concrete. If they're still soaked in sweat the next day, I'll reach out for the Bondi 6. Hoka does it like no other. The stack height, cushioning, wide footprint and the bucket seat design - all trademarks of a trailblazing ethos that, a decade on, remains unparalleled. Just one thing...stick to this lacing design...no need for twisted laces like in the Gaviota 3.

Only 2 weeks into wear. Nice fit, very bouncy. Seeing some wear on the lugs even though only worn on paved streets.

My wife and I treated ourselves at Christmas with some new Hokas. I'm currently running around the yard or taking walks with the dogs in these shoes. I'm really not exerting myself yet in these shoes. I owned a pair of Stinson's about 2 years ago which I loved and if I recall correctly were super - breathable. I believe they had tiny vents or pockets in the (arch) soles for your feet to breath. These shoes so far are not the same. My feet sweat in these shoes when just walking around in them. I'm unsure if its the amount of cushion in the soles combined with my feet perspiring. It kind of feels like my feet are swimming/sloshing. Maybe I need to break them in more? Just my opinion so far. I can always come back and revise this if things change. They are comfortable and I still believe Hoka is one of the best shoe brands around.

Excellent stability and grip so far, both on level and inclined surfaces. Lacing system helps the shoe to conform to your foot and moves the foot back into the heel. Grip on wet surfaces could be drastically improved. When I went to run the stairs at my local high school football stadium, any standing water on the steps was a serious safety hazard. Also, any snow (even unpacked snow, which generally isn't slick) on a mountain trail I ran, was another hazard.

I received these as a gift. I ran over 600 miles in the previous version, Stinson 5, so I know that these shoes can go the distance. However, after less than 50 miles of moderate trail running, the rubber overlay around the sides of the shoe started to peel away from the fabric. It looks like the manufacturing process was to simply iron the overlay onto the shoe, no glue at all. I'm sending them back, since there's a nice warranty. But I'm conflicted with getting these again.
