I have sudden onset Planters Fasciitis and Neuropathy, and with the extreme pain found the ONLY shoe I could wear was Olympus 4 Altra's! I had previously owned several pair, so I knew the support quality the shoe gave, but with the ailment, this was the one and only shoe I could function with! Still, 5 months later, I am wearing the black (all purpose) Altra. As soon as I wake in the morning, the shoe goes on until I return to bed at night!. Thankful for Altra to build a shoe that works for me!

I like it as my neuroma foot does not get numb. The negative heel, wide toe box and orthotics with a metatarsal pads help.

I did an ultra marathon a few days ago with this shoe, majority of the course was sand, rocks and hills!! It was a mixture of running and climbing. We had many rocky areas with sharp angles. The grip of this shoe is wonderful! I put leukotape on my toes because I always get blisters for long distance runs but the mixture of the tape and the foot shape this shoe has helped me getting ZERO blisters after running 35 miles!! I also get minimal sands in my shoes as the course was full of sand and lots of runners had too much sand getting in their shoes. I wear nothing but my compression socks and the shoe and there was minimal to zero sand in my shoe at the end. I DO STRONGLY recommend this shoe. It's wonderful for ultra marathons on technical trails.

I left a previous review that I would like to redact. I wore my new Olympus 4 another day and now they feel perfect. I think they just needed a little time to break in. I'm back to loving them as much as my first pair. I do have the issue of the little spoilers on the back flipping rocks and debris into my shoes, but the the way these shoes ELIMINATE my severe chronic foot and ankle pain makes it worth it.

Please please please make them in a waterproof version! I need to wear these year-round.

Had an achilles tendon repair over a year ago and these shoes have been instrumental to getting me back to my outdoor running, walking, and trail workouts. feet feel completely secure in shoe and going up and down hills is an optimistic experience. getting another pair for sure!

Love this shoe especially for balance since I broke my ankle. Have trouble keeping them tied.

Most comfortable shoe ever. I have a running show also and have worn this brand for 3 year's. Great wide toe.

I would like to see this available in wide widths.Also more neutral colors.I love the slightly raised heel, and they feel well cushioned for standing all day.

I have bought multiple brands of shoes. Spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the best pair for my feet! These have not only made a difference in my feet but my back no longer hurts after a long day on my feet!! I found these at a random store in Branson, not crazy about the color though. These shoes have helped with keeping my more centered and not walking on the outside of my feet.

It is a very comfortable shoe and especially around the toes. I wear the shoes all day long .

If Altra ever discontinues this shoe I will be in big trouble. I have morton's neuroma (post surgery), plantar fasciitis and tendon issues in my arch. This shoe keeps me on the trail longer and more comfortably than any other shoe. I've done some long days solo backpacking with these in rugged terrain, and they made the hike better and my feet less sore at the end of the day. The only thing I would adjust is the density of the sole-- it is comfortable on moderate terrain, but when the rocks get sharp you can feel them through the cushy sole after a while. As someone who hikes on the AT a lot, which is quite rocky, I would love a slightly denser, more supportive sole that can better handle my weight and my pack on rocks. This is far from a dealbreaker for me though, and I hope this model of shoe sticks around for a long time. Some hikers need more cushion than the lone peaks give, and for those with foot issues like myself, it is a necessity!

I have very wide feet and a pronation on my right foot. I have searched for shoes for years. These are the best of of any shoe that I have tried. They are comfortable and don't pinch my toes. AMAZING SHOE

Comfort standing on your feet and moving all day. As well as support.

This is my second pair of Altra Olympus. I had the previous version. These are just as awesome if not better. I didn't think I'd like the new tongue on them but since I always wear crew length socks anyway it feels normal. My first run in these I wanted to share with everyone I saw outside about how amazing Altras are! I had issues with bunions until I started wearing Altras and haven't been in pain since! The Olympus are cushiony and comfy:)

This is my second pair of Olympus 4s. I am training for an Appalachian Trail thru hike. These are the trail runners I will be taking. I am impressed with the wide foot box and how incredibly comfortable they are. I hiked long miles and never got a blister. Altra don't change these shoes! The are perfect!

I am over the moon with these shoes!!! I am a female that wears 9.5 in ladies or 8 in mens. I purchased a red pair in ladies and black and white in mens. They fit exactly the same. I am in love!!! Lately, some of the brands I've worn for years are making the toe box very narrow. These shoes allow you to wiggle your toes which is a big perk for comfort. These are super cool. I want every color made!

I love these shoes. I have bunions and they were recommended by my podiatrist for the wide toe box. I wouldn't buy another brand of athletic shoe again. Olympus are the most comfortable for walking, running and standing on my feet at work all day.

I walk every day and they provide all the support I need. So comfortable

I was in an auto accident, broken knee, etc. PT, while professionally not able to recommend any brand, shared that he wears Altras and they are a preferred shoe on the Pacific Crest Trail. He made me a custom orthotic and I've been wearing Altras since. Life changing! 3 pairs of Altras later, I splurged and have my first pair of Olympus 4s: Heaven, worth every penny, no need for knee surgery at this time, taking no pain meds, feel like bedroom slippers and when I put them on, I just want to go outdoors and walk! So grateful!
