I have bilateral Morgans neuroma and have spent thousands of dollars in inserts and shoes types. These are by far the best shoes yet. have two pairs, purchasing a third when the Red returns. great buy.

In my experience with this shoe (completed one 50 miler run/walk in it plus training runs/walks), it is ideal for someone who wants to feel grounded and have versatility in their movements. The wide toebox is meant to give your toes versatility as you land, and the shape of the shoe and lacking cushion gives you a similar feeling to barefoot. These are not barefoot shoes, but a good mix between real and barefoot running.

I have worn Altras since they started. My last pair was a disappointment, as the tongue was fixed and put a lot of pressure on the top of my foot. This model has a regular tongue, thank heaven, and it fits fine. I went up a half size as I started wearing orthotics for a painful joint, and they are light, dry fast, and feel good. These are the best of the cushioned zero drop shoes, but I would love to work my way back to wearing all my no padding shoes a few days a week like I used to.

This is my first pair of big-toebox shoes, and I'm really pleased. I'm 71 and my toes are starting to overlap. I got a set of toe separators and these shoes to accommodate them, which they do, nicely. But even aside from that, they're as comfortable as any shoes I've ever had. I've been wearing them to walk the dog, jog on park trails, and around the house. I'm pretty much wearing them all day (with and without the toe separators). Very pleased.

I have used other running shoes (shall remain nameless) for 15 years and never thought I'd find better. Boy was I wrong. Light, cushioned yet responsive, comfortable on longer runs but not sluggish on the track, light and breathable and comfy in subtropical temps. I couldn't believe it but it's true, my new favorite shoe

In less than a month they've seen more miles than my previous pair, and I credit the comfort and overall feel. Loving these shoes on the road.

As a runner coming from Brooks, I wanted to try 0-drop shoes. I'm so happy I did as my running has improved and my IT band issues have been relieved! The Torin 4.5 Plushes have proven a great way to transition, as they still have much of the cushioning. Very well made, love the dialed-in feel on my foot!

best fitting shoes. Sometimes don't notice I'm wearing shoes.
Disappointed the price went up 50% since the last time I bought the similar shoe.

I used to have toe pain in my right big toe, come to find out this was because of wearing shoes w/ narrow toe boxes, you can guess which brands those are. This shoe has rid me of my toe pain and I have noticed significantly less snapping in my left ankle. I have always heard non-painful snapping in my left ankle and never thought much of it as a problem, 3 weeks of running in these and I don't hear a lot of snapping in my left ankle.
I can spread my toes, they are not bunched up in the shoe. After research in evolution of the human body I came to the conclusion that barefoot running is key. These shoes are perhaps the best substitution for barefoot running in streets where barefoot running is not a smart option (glass, splinters, etc.). The thickness from foot to sole is constant throughout the shoe, not what you typically see in running shoes where the heel is thicker than the toe part. I find this to be a game changer in the torin 4.5 plush because when barefoot running you don't have the extra cushion in the heel. A lot of heel strikers may not like this shoe at first, it is a big adjustment to make for heel strikers, but I believe this shoe will improve any runners form. I myself am a middle-distance runner so I'm usually toe striking or mid-foot striking. I've noticed more speed as my average 400m pace has decreased by 3 seconds in just 3 weeks of training in these shoes. Strongly considering buying a lifetime supply.

Felt too tight on top of foot for first couple of runs /20mi. Re-laced and have felt great since. My Preferred long/recovery run shoe.

I've been running in Altra's for a while now. Loved the first few pair of Torin's I had. Then they seemed to be getting more narrow. So I tried another brand. Didn't like them at all. So I got a pair of the 4.5's. So glad I did. The most comfortable pair of Altra's so far. The tongue took a few miles to break in, still feels better with a little taller socks. But other than that, ready to go right out of the box. Sure hope they don't change these. I'm going to get another pair to have ready for when I wear these out.

The best shoe I have used since the first ASICS gel was released in 1986. I notice the substantial padding in the forefoot with every step. As a speed walker averaging 7 miles per day at a 5 mph rate, cushioning is paramount. Blisters have been a significant problem with all of my previous shoes. The wide toe box has alleviated the blister issue. The one downside, in my opinion, is that the shoe seems to breakdown sooner than most shoes I have tried. Overall, my experience with Altra has been excellent. I am currently enjoying my third pair. I could sell this brand with enthusiasm and conviction.

Second pair only because I like them so much. I bought another color. I am afraid Altra is going to change them someway and will not be the same so I bought another pair. Only thing is I wish they were just slightly more cushioned. Certainly they are more cushion than other Altras, but I could still use a bit more cushion. I am 64 years old and still love to run, however, my feet simply needs more cushion. I likes em though!!!

I love what these shoes do for me. It's like shock absorbers for my knees and hips. They are a bit odd and I had to get used to the lower heel, now that I have, it's like walking on clouds. I wear them all day and never want to take them off, I bought two pairs and will add a third. Great product!

Love this shoe. I'm a (somewhat) older runner with fairly severe arthritis in my right knee and log approx. 15 miles/week on asphalt. Average foot shape and arch, mild over-pronator. Have been running in Altra's for a few years (Escalante, Impact, Torin, VIHO, Lone Peak) and dig the Altra fit (for the most part) and overall design, but the Torin Plush is perfect for me. Cushioned yet responsive. Great on my joints! Really nice feel. And... I'm at least 30 seconds/mile quicker in these shoes! (Not that 9-minutes/mile is quick : ) And I appreciate the fit and feel of the knit upper. Haven't logged enough miles to comment on durability, but my other Altra's have held up pretty well. Thanks Altra! Don't futz with these!

I've done a lot of running in the various Torin models, and I really like the foot shape and zero drop. The 4.5 has fine-tuned a lot of the details. Great road shoe.

I've been struggling to find a shoe that works for me. I have wider and taller than average feet and this is the first shoe that provides the perfect shape and support. I've had them for a few weeks and am absolutely delighted after a number of runs.

I like the shoe overall. It is a more cushioned shoe, so if you're looking for a more minimal feel this isn't it. I have a few pair of Altra's and I replaced this insole with a thinner one for a slightly firmer feel. I would say my foot is on the wider end of D(M) and this fits fine. If you normally buy Wide sizes this may be a little tight for you (minus the toe box). I don't run much, maybe 10 miles a week, I can see this shoe lasting me a long time. I think this shoe could be improved with the addition of an extra eyelet.
