So far, this shoe has been good to me. It is my first pair of Altras. I wanted to switch from my nikes to a shoe that offers more support and cushion. I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and this shoe offers great comfort. I am considering adding insoles so that I can get just a bit more support underneath my foot to help with my PF. This is one of those shoes that you put it on and it instantly feels amazing. Im really looking forward to putting on a couple hundred miles in these shoes.

i loved the paradigm 5 because my feet are wide but i have a high arch and i feel like they are true to the old style paradigm 3. the paradigm 4.5 seemed to tight on the width so i'm happy they went back to the old style.

Owner of at least various 15 pairs of Altra. I had two pairs of Altra 4.5 and I gave them four stars. There were some issues with the finish of the 4.5 product, not enough attention to detail (the shoelaces were too long). I had at least 150 miles on each. With Altra 5 Altra is hitting the stride again, so to speak. The updated design, the shoe feel, the detail, everything is perfect. The 4.5 wore out quickly. I hope they have updated that on this one as well. I still feel that the shoe could have more bounce and softness in stride (as it is in Nike Air) and last a bit longer. Maybe impossible to achieve. But to this Altra 5.0 I give five stars. Will revisit after I have had two of those, for now they seem perfect with that caveat.

Too much arch support. There is like a hump in the middle of the shoe, which stresses the nerves in my feet. The cushion on this shoe is excellent, but then there is this like hump in there which is over pronounced, stressing our my feet. I will need to return them.

The wide toe box has made all the difference on my long walks, but I'm disappointed with the holes in the fabric of both shoes after three months of wear.

Probably one of the best running shoes I've ever bought. However in 3 months the padding along the collar on the right shoe detached creating a hot spot. Will try another pair and see.

I have had many pairs of Timp that I have used for trail running and crosstraining. I also have a pair of Torin that I use exclusively indoors on treadmills. I bought this pair of Paradigm 5 to wear at work. I'm on my feet all day and needed a comfortable pair of shoes. I absolutely love the fit, feel, and function of Altra shoes. The only flaw in their shoes is the materials used in the uppers. The side walls, in the area where the toe box meets the missile, tend to wear out and yield too soon.

i WALK 1,200,000 TO 1.5 MILIOPON STEPS A MONTH. MY PARADIM 5 LASTED ABOUT 4.5 MILLION STEPS WALKING AND SHOWING SOME WEAR. IT DOES LET IN TO MUCH DUST AND DIRT SO I SPRAY THEM WITH SCOTCH GARD TO KEEP THE DIRT OUT. I DO TRAILS AND ROAD SERFACES AND HILLS . NOW IT IS TIME FOR A NEW PAIR 4 MONTHS LATER.iT CAN BE VARAFIED ON GARMIN CONNECT

Bought for my husband. He likes the extra toe room. They run a little large in the men's. He usually wears an 11. We bought the 10 and they fit just right

Love these shoes. 4th pair. Wish they lasted longer. I'm getting right at 250 miles a pair. I guess that's ok at 250 pounds. I'd give it 5 stars but I'm buying a pair every 6 weeks.

These are my favorite Altra shoes. Good cushioning and arch support, accept orthotics, and very much true to size.
I'd also recommend:
Only wear Altra due to having foot surgery

I had two pair of the previous version and loved the shoe but wore out the soles on both pair after 3 months. This model is at least a half size longer than the previous model and I'm hoping I can get more miles out of the soles. Sending them back today.

Just average shoes. I will say, that for the zero drop style, these are very cushioned and stable. But I don't think the zero drop is for me. The shape of the shoes is much different and although natural foot shaped, I have bad feet with a lot of pain and I need shoes that give me assistance in walking. These don't. If you're different from me and you like zero drop, these are probably going to be very good shoes for you. Zappos customer service is outstanding!

Walking- the lace system is not easy to adjust and does not hold the heel in like previous versions.

My first purchase was the Lone Peak 5 Wide, and I'm super happy about the width of that shoe and the toe box. I find this shoe too narrow, especially later in the day when my feet swell up.

length and width sizing were good. however, the depth was not enough to accommodate my naturally high instep with custom orthotics. otherwise, i liked the shoe and would have kept it had it been deep enough.

Got these not long ago, used to wear the Torin 3's, but the more recent models didn't have the best reviews. Decided to give these a shot and while I love the cushion and support under foot, the toe box feels great as always, my heels have a little bit of slippage. Tightening the shoe negates the slip from the heel, but then the tongue is cutting into the front of my ankle which doesn't feel too great. I've also got extremely flat feet, so the funky arch in the middle feels... Different. It isn't unpleasant, though I would prefer it to be just slightly wider. I don't mind the shoe, though I'll probably try another version after this pair is finished.

The plushness of the soul feels wonderful.
Left shoe bigger than right.
Both tongues quickly slip to the right.
Zero support around heel.
