Long distance running

I've put 40 miles on in 2 weeks and they fell great. Good cushion and no toe irritation. I will buy another.

I run a lot of half marathons and marathons. I have full closet of different varieties of shoes. I have Saucony,Nike,Brooks,ASICS. However, since finding this shoe I have started selling the other shoes on Facebook marketplace. As I have got older I have a fallen arch on one of my feet and I now need some stability. I love this shoe. I know they say it heavy shoe, however when running in it this is not noticeable. This is my new marathon and half marathon shoe. I did take time getting adapted to the zero drop and now it all I want to run in. When I am running shorter distances I user the Altra Torin 4.5 it is amazing also. Thanks Altra I think with these shoes it will extend my running for many more years.

Helps alleviate foot pain

The best version of the paradigm 5! I feel like it has better stability and cushioning than previous models. I also think it is more responsive too. I like the improved cushioning in the heal and tongue portions of the shoe. Great shoe for me.

Use this shoe for running in all weather conditions! Gives me the support I need. Get very good traction on wet roads and performs very well on trails to.The wide natural toe box allows my toes to move as they should. Will recommend this running shoe to everyone!

I use these almost everyday and they are great the back wears out after a while but I really do recommend these to anyone

I've walked many miles in these shoes. They are very comfortable: good fit and cushion. They have a wide toe box which I appreciate since I have wide feet.

I have a balance disorder and a bad ankle. Altras are the only shoe that I can wear comfortably.

Been wearing my first pair ever day for almost a year now. My wife and mother also love them. Maybe just our foot shape but these are most comfortable shoes ever. I used to wear arch supports but haven't needed them since this shoe. I ordered a couple more pairs in fear they might discontinue or change someday. Wish Altra would make their hikers with the same cushion and ergonomics. I'd buy them too. Caution not all Altra shoes are as comfortable as the paradigm. Wish they were.

I love this shoe! Very comfortable, as I am 250lbs. I've tried different brands for working out and running. These are the most comfortable shoes I've had so far as I have wide feet. Paired with a insole it feels good. Most comfortable shoes I've owned! Running in them is nice. Altra is da bomb

I walk about 10 miles daily and this shoe has been easily the most comfortable at the tail end of my day. I have approximately 15 pairs of Altra shoes and I'm so glad I took the chance on their most premium, and pricey street model! I will not be going back. Paradigm for roads, Olympus for trails, no contest!

One of the most confortable shoes available

My husband has very wide and pretty flat feet (he's Hawaiian) and has always struggled with shoes fitting properly. These were recommended by a friend who is a fitness trainer and they are amazing. First time he's ever felt his feet can breathe, and what a difference they've made in the work out. He loves them and wants to wear all the time so we'll have to get another pair!

First pair of Altra. Love them with one annoying problem. I've worn hundreds and hundreds of pairs of athletic shoes over the years but never had a pair with shoelaces that kept coming untied...and I refuse to double-knot them. Might want to rethink different materials or desigs.

I work on concrete, and these shoes make me forget I have them on. Seriously, and I'm 250 lbs. My old ones are worn pretty good, but that's after 8-9 months of almost daily wear. Looking forward to the new ones.

I use this shoe as trainer for long temp and long runs (10-15 miles). I run about 6:20-6:25 pace in a mostly urban environment. This shoe is great for when I need to get work done and helps me avoid niggles and unnecessary load on my legs. The ego midsole is terrific! Even though the shoe is heavy, it offers supportive cushion and responsiveness that lets you enjoy the run. Go a half size small and you will okay. The overall fit and lockdown is great as well.

I am a shoe addict, always have been. Right now I have like 7-8 shoes in rotation (I know this is overkill like none other). Shoes from Brooks, Hoka, Merrell, and Altra. But these... these were the ones. Once I slipped these on for the first time I felt whatever materialistic hole in my heart fill up. I went on a easy 5k but then couldn't stop running! I came home, cold and tired 10 miles later, and my legs felt great. Such a great balance between plushness and responsiveness. I bought two pairs with the intention of returning one (long story), but they're never getting returned now. Now I have the problem of neglecting the other shoes in my rotation.

I cannot fully compare this shoe to a fresh pair of Paradigm 4.5s as I do not have any but it feels fresh and springy in each bounce. They feel the same since I have first received them and I have put 70 miles on them. The room in the shoe feels the same as how the Paradigm 4.5 felt in regards to room around the foot and space for your toes. It does not feel as tight as the Provision 4 (which still feels great) but the Paradigm 5 feels better in terms of space. Overall amazing shoe and I love the new upper compared to what the Paradigm 4.5 was as well, it 'looks better' IMO. :)
