Extremely comfortable, I found the fit to be perfect for me who doesn't like anything to feel restrictive to movement. A big plus to the zip-neck is being able to put it on without touching any sunscreen applied to your face or messing up your hair.

You know how there is always one person in a group that is always too cold? Well, that is my husband. He.is.always.COLD. That is, until now. Our son gifted him the Men's Intraknit Thermal Max Merino Base Layer 1/4" zip before our trip to Alaska and we fell in love with this product. I just gifted him the Men's Classic Thermal Merino and he says this is perfect when you want "just a little bit less warmth" than the Thermal Max. He wears these every day. I just wish both of these products would come in dark gray, light gray, midnight blue and medium brown, too.

I am a ski instructor, and just replaced my previous one after 10 years. One of the best on the market.

We travel 6x at least a year. Last trips to Tasmania, Norway and Finland. My classic weight merino crew or zip tops are my only choice when temps are 55 and below. Also look great alone. I found I like the 1/4 zip when temp is lower since they provide a mock turtle fit. Soft and comfortable but a little more substantial than the year round version. They also make great sleep tops.

I use the top and bottom as a base layer for my winter backpacking sleep system and time around the fire. Temps range from 12-30 F. Reliably warm and comfortable! I don't use them during activity because they are actually too warm for intense activity. Amazing product. 100% pleased with Smartwool. I also use Smartwool socks. Won't use any other brand for my base layers.

The weather has been incredibly cold in VA recently so I decided to finally purchase some base layers to keep me warm. I'm so glad I went with the SmartWool Merino Base Layer. It's very comfortable and warm and it fits perfect! Definitely something I would recommend. Very satisfied with my purchase!

In winter, I'm basically always in the classic Marino base layer. Feels soft. Comfortable all day and night. I just took a walk in zero degree wind chill, with nothing but Marino socks, bottoms and top underneath jeans and and a mid weight jacket, and knit hat and gloves. I never got cold as the wind ripped by me. Saves on the hearing bill big time too.

I absolutely love this product. I got one for my husband, and my girls got me one. I got 5 out of 7 grandkids smartwool base layers. It was a Smartwool Christmas. Living in Chicago, Smartwool are a staple.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas as his other one needed replacement after 7 years- tore as it caught on a sharp object, no fault of smartwool. We have a variety of the 150 and 250s and use the lighter ones as summer sun shirts or as a mid layer and the 250s as mid layer during cold hikes/skiing and even as a light jacket during shoulder seasons. We even wear them casually around town Wore it for many days doing Machu Picchu and then the Mont Blanc trek and it held no odors. I was able to pack a very small suitcase as it was full of Smartwool layers that could be worn over and over. I have tried other company's wool products but they always seem itchy and do not have the comfort of Smartwool. We will keep coming back for more and have encouraged our trekking friends to do the same.

My husband has two of these and loves wearing them as a base layer or over a t-shirt. He appreciates the softness and temperature regulation of the material. They have quickly become his favorite tops for the winter.

This is my second of this design. It is the most comfortable and warm base layer! I wear it as a base layer and just as a comfortable shirt around the house.

I wear this for running almost everyday now and it stays odor free and moisture wicking even though I sweat a lot in it. The shirt has also survived the wash several times. Plus it's very attractive, so I even wear it casually. Smartwool strikes again! Would highly recommend.
