Love to layer underneath a sweater for maximum warmth!

A great base layer for skiing or a casual lightweight sweater.

Perfect to wear as a shirt or as a layer. Even if it gets wet from water or sweat it still feels comfortable and warm.

This is a great layering piece and is great on it's own. My husband owns it in several colors.

Went on a ride with my E-bike and was amazed how warm I was when the temperature was in the 30's and cloudy.

I work outdoors frequently and have been looking for a base layer that actually keeps me warm. Smartwool products excel at this whereas I found synthetic base layers lacking in the warmth department.

This shirt saved my last trip to New York! The base layer is stylish enough that can be used as the main shirt and it protects you really well from the elements! It's also great to use while inside an airplane. Not too hot, not cold at all just right!

For light hiking these are supremely versatile. Perfect for the Shikoku pilgrimage. Two shirts, one pair tights, one beenie, three pairs socks- all merino wool. Combined with water and windproof layers I was comfortable in late winter/early spring conditions, 40 to 65 degrees for the seven weeks I walked with a 30L backpack. I am thoroughly pleased with the performance, styling and construction of Smartwool garments.

I recently went on a backpacking trip in freezing temperatures while in the snow I used this clothing for my under layer and it kept me nice and toasty throughout the trip. I would definitely wear this again.

Nice warm underlayer. But also looks nice enough to wear as a surface layer.

Overall I like it, I did order one size up because I don't like form fitting clothing and it's still a bit tight but not so much that I wanted to send it back.

I purchased because I wanted a wool base layer, so this item fir the bill. My original order came and both the bottom and the crew neck were way too big. If was not a contoured fit (slightly tight). The large was also a bit big, but a medium would likely be too small for my mid section... Customer service was great when I reached out about exchange/ return. Received new sizes before ski trip!

There is only one Merino base layer choice for me during the winter months in North Lake Tahoe's majestic Donner Lake community of Truckee, California. Be it skiing, dog walking or a rewarding day at work - I am always comfortable in my Smartwool.

Best garment purchase in 20 years! Slim sized, so I sized up. Wool might shrink a little with wash.

I love the fit and feel of the Merino wool against my skin! Such an improvement over the cheap plastic fiber base layers. The size Medium fit my 5'11" frame perfectly with room to move around. Very happy with my purchase.

Not my first review on the Classic top. But I like them so much another positive comment is warranted. Soft, comfortable and a great layering top for colder days. I only take this top in 3-4 colors when traveling and it provides lots of options.

First I have had a thermal base layer. I usually go lighter weight for all season use. Loving this piece. Fits great and is easy to layer over. This, a short sleeve light weight, and my shell are all I need for skinning and some more adventurous snowshoeing.
