Used as a under layer in the cold weather. I found this item to be thin, and flimsy with a loose fit. It feels more like a t-shirt. I compared it to an old one I purchased in 2013 and the old one is still thicker than the one I just purchased. I will be returning it.

Thin and not 100% wool. The Smartwool I have form 20 years ago is thicker and 100% wool. Quality of this new stuff is nothing compared to the older stuff.

Soft, warm, and like wearing a second skin !! I'm wearing it as a base layer and it's perfect. Not a bit scratchy.

I bought this five months ago. Only machine washed in cold water and dried flat. It is literally coming apart at the seams under both arms. I was told by customer service they would only give store credit. Why would I want to buy a product that falls apart again???

We've bought smartwool in the past and use our base layers year after year. It's only been two months since purchasing the merino 250 base layer crew and it looks worn and the coloring has faded so it's splotchy all over. Not sure if the material has changed but it's definitely not the same quality as the others I own.

The military olive green looks like a dirty, grease stained grey shirt. Also the sleeves are skin tight but also very long. The material is very nice, but the poor fit and awful color make this something I would not wear.
