I love these shirts! I have 3 that I cycle through all fall through spring, washing maybe once a month because they don't stink. I sit at a desk most of the day and used to get chilly, but I layer these with a t-shirt under and sweater over and I'm cozy. I've been using the same 3 for 3-4 years and they've kept their shape, don't pill, and don't itch. They even block the itchiness of other sweaters. I came to the site thinking I might buy more, but didn't really need to (instead, I got some of the leggings after being itchy with other brands).

Soft, comfy, warm, and colorful! I'm 5'8" 170 lbs and the size L fits perfectly (even with my long arms and torso). It's practical for a base layer but pretty enough to be a main layer

Very comfortable and fits well. Thought it would be scratchy to wear but definitely not the case here. Very nice. We will see how it lasts this winter

Perfect weight to wear alone or will be a good later piece when it's gets cooler. I wish the arm length was a little longer.

Fit and feel is true, cozy. We are planning a trip overseas with cooler weather and I want to be prepared for anything. This layer does the job. Looks beautiful on it own but will be great under a sweater or jacket.

A FB travel group recommended merino wool for travel because it packs well and can be worn multiple times. I purchased three brands and the Smartwool tops fit best, great weight. They were used on a 10-day land and train trip, no wrinkles, no odor. I plan to purchase more.

wow - do I LOVE this shirt! It's the perfect warm layer that can be worn alone or under another layer. I will be purchasing multiples! I bought an XL for some looseness - the "appropriate" size would have been skin tight.

The garment was thinner than I'd expected but helped in keeping me warm while diving in Iceland. I was wearing another thermal layer on top of the wool, but the thin layer ended up being very useful for maneuverability and was fast drying when I got slightly damp.

Love this shirt! It was my favorite piece of clothing during 8 months of traveling. It can be layered over or under. Its comfy and I love the color (dark teal-ish). It can be dressed up or down. Can't recommend it enough!

I've been wearing these for years and years. The recent redesign is stellar - SO glad the arms became longer! Thank you for this change! The new side-seam design is very flattering. I live in these shirts - they are my daily morale boost. But please PLEASE bring back the Pewter Blue color! And also make Pewter Blue in the all-season weight... that is the best blue I've seen offered here the entire time I've worn Smartwool. And more classic rich alpine and royal blues as well :) It's nice to have options between super-light and super-dark and super-bright.

I purchased this shirt in Massachusetts on our Appalachian Trail thru-hike in 2023. I wore it everyday until we summited Kathadin. It kept its nice color, and most of all in spite of many washings and rough terrain, it has no holes. I had 2 merino wool shirts from icebreaker and they had holes after 2-3 wears, and those were worn for regular days. I am planning to wear this to our next thru-hike but probably going to get a different color too. Very impressed with this shirt!

These base layers are well-made and the fabric isn't cheap. I've been wearing them for years. I live at 7600 and it's cold here for most of the year. the colors are really pretty too.

This top is amazing. Not only is it soft and warm, seeing me happy in cool weather, but it is also very chic and I can wear it as a fashionable top to work. I feel terrific wearing this shirt and now own two of the exact same since too good to be true!

I have had the same smartwool layer for years and finally replaced them with a new set. They are consistently comfortable, smooth, they don't bunch, they're thin but so warm and so smooth on your skin.

Beautiful, soft and quality base layer. The pattern is pretty to wear out and about also. I love this crew. It fits perfectly. I got XL because I want to wear this out and also hiking. It has nice sleeve length and shirt length and it's flattering.
