I'm at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic and I wear these as a base layer when going out on hikes. They are great at wicking away the moisture and keeping me warm. I'm very happy with this purchase.

My sister bought these for her mid-twenties son and told me how awesome they were. Her guys absolutely loves his, so I bought a pair for my mid-twenties son, Andy. We live in Nor Az and it can get cold. Andy has circulation trouble and gets cold easily! I actually am handing his pair of smart wool long Johns to him as a surprise when he gets here for Thanksgiving! Can't wait. They are so thin and soft, yet will be so warm and cozy! I love how soft they are! Great product!

Nice, but long. Got a small and they still are saggy at the bottom. Tightness is good though

Very soft and comfortable. Fit is very snug in legs but stretchy. Looking forward to staying double-warm this winter.

I love how well these regulate my body temperature! I can wear them under thin hiking pants like my Prana Brion when it's in the 20-30's F and feel comfortable. Then when I go inside my house where it's 72 F I forget I have them on. I don't feel like I'm burning up and have to take them off immediately. I'm really impressed with the versatility. These will come with me on every backpacking or ski trip from now on.

So good as a base layer under pants, also good for running when it's cold out, and also just as slim sweats around the house. Super soft and well made. I wear a small on most things but a medium on these.

Bought these for skiing in VT so I got the 250. Wore it skiing the first time (~15 - 20 deg F) with a performance long sleeve, lightweight fleece pullover and shell and was almost too warm! I probably could have gone with the 150. Very soft and comfortable, and machine washable! Doesn't seem to stretch out of shape while wearing. I've had capilene for years and won't miss the stinkilene, no captured scents with the wool. Will be buying the 150's as well for when it gets a little warmer.

Bought this heavier weight version for downhill skiing. I own a pair in the lighter weight that I use for crosscountry skiing.

I am a pro-patroller at our local ski mountain. I am skiing about 4 days a week from November through April on average. These wool bottoms are a perfect base layer 90% of the time. I wear them under a lightly insulated ski pant and am just fine. In very cold (-10F or less) weather I slip a pair of fleece bottoms over these and then top off with my normal ski pants and am fine. They transfer moisture well, do not bag out like some wool base layers I have had in the past do. Also, they are easy to care for. They fit true to size. I have not negative comments whatso ever about these base layer bottoms.

Wear these daily throughout the cold season. Very comfortable and do a great job of keeping me warm even when riding my Harley. They finally fixed the issue with the elastic waist band which I experienced with an earlier version a couple of years ago. Couldn't be happier with the new version they just sent me. Be sure to keep your receipt in case you have any issues down the road as Smart Wool bends over backwards to honor their warranty on their merchandise, but you must be able to provide your receipt showing when and where you bought your item.

I have bought bought merino baselayers from other vendors. This pair is the best fit and the quality makes it worth every penny. The waistband isn't just some elastic band sewn inside a pocket. The fit is snug but not restricting. I highly recommend this baselayer. I work in SE Pennsylvania and the weight is perfect for the climate.

Great product for a New Mexico winter! The only problem is that the moths eat this Smartwool up. Gotta protect it.

There can't possibly be a better Merino 250 Wool product on the market... both the base layer bottoms and tops. You can just live in them all winter long!

My old Smartwool has battled many years and endured great wear but is wearing thin after 12 years. Got a new set for my son and I for an upcoming trout fishing trip. 25 degree wind chill didn't keep us from catching fish. We fished in it , slept in it, from freezing cold to moderately warm. It kept us comfortable the whole time. Great products
