My 7 year old loves the pattern and the fact that is what he considers a "big kid' backpack. I am like that it has so many pockets and he can fit in his books, lunch, ski pants and jacket and his water bottle, Perfect backpack for ski town kids.

I gifted this product to my boyfriend and he uses it for literally everything. Super comfortable for school, hiking, and just packing clothes in to travel. Amazing quality.

I use this every day for school and it works great! however, the slot for a computer is too small to fit mine. other than that it's a great bag! (my computer is 9 and 3/4 in. long)

I like the new front w/o that pocket at bottom that only collected debris. Also, the big, centered logo is nice. Other than that, NF should bring back last season's version. With this year's, the zippers and too slippery, the H20 bottle pockets need to be elasicized like last year's, and that 2nd handle is unnecessary and gets in the way of the main zipper. I'll keep it 'till next year hoping they make these changes or I'll give it away and get something else.

Quality is terrible on this bag, feels cheap and not like the old North Face jester bags. Zippers open easily and the back cover keeping the form easily gets bended. Terrible bag if possible buy the more expensive model if there at least higher quality

I bought it for my boyfriend and he loves it! We both bring back packs when we go on hikes with the dogs. This is large enough to fit all our essentials for the day but not too bulky.

Excellent purchase at a fair price. HS senior replacing similar model from three years ago following an all season, 90 minute, each way, metropolitan commute on multiple forms of transportation. Interior pockets perfect for safe storage of a laptop & expensive calculator plus books & supplies. Exterior pockets easily hold bottles of water & snacks. Very durable & easy to clean. Highly recommend!

Seems like a good pack, fairly similar to last season's. I like the new look and removal of interior velcro pocket. Also the flat front is good because it doesn't allow for dirt/ debris to collect in bottom. This said, I'm not certain the non- eleasticized H2O compartments will hold Nalgene bottle securely. Also, though I like the easy zippers but hoping they don't open on their own.

I bought three of these for my kids to use as backpacks for elem and middle school. They have always used Jansport Right Packs. There are some major practical problems with the Jasper. It is top heavy because the smaller outside zip pocket is at the top of the pack, not the bottom. Thus it tips over when the main zip is opened. There is no skid resistance on the bottom (the Right Pack as suede) so it topples forward onto it's front. This is especially noticeable when I put the kids' lunchboxes in - once the main zip is open, the top smaller/front pocket tips the pack forward and it slip slides while I'm working the lunch in. Jasper is also narrower inside than the Right Pack, so when notebooks, lunch boxes, pencil pouches are packed, it becomes very tight (it's a true rectangle, no extra wiggle room at the base) - and even the exterior mesh pockets are difficult to use. The silicone boots on my kids Hydroflasks pull off when they take their water bottles out of the mesh pockets. In all, Jasper is a backpack that tips over, won't stand up on it's own, and is too tight inside to be practical for school use.

use it for school. I only need an iPad and a notebook but it could easily hold 3-4 well sized textbooks. only complaint is that on my old vault there were 2 individual compartments in the small back part and this only has 1

I got this backpack for my daughter who started high school a few weeks ago. She loves it! Loves the color and all the compartments. She can fit her lunch, laptop and notebooks perfectly plus a big water bottle on the side. The rest of the family has had North Face backpacks for years and love this. This is her first one and she won't go back.
