Mine are not the brand new V8, but the previous version, so I don't know if my concern has been since addressed, but going off some of the other reviews, it doesn't appear so. I've been wearing the XA PRO 3D for years now and I have noticed a serious delcine in the length of use I get out of them over the last few versions. The tread wears out long before enything else on the shoe does, even the quicklace lock or goretex. In the photo, the pair on the right is at least 6 or 7 years old and they were worn on every hike or run I did for a year and have been since retired into an "everyday" shoe role. The other pair is about 6 months old and is already showing serious wear on the tread. I'm not sure, but I'd guess that Salomon has switched to a softer compund to increase grip, but this has come at the expense of longevity. Everything else about the shoe is great, but it is disappointing to be getting much less use out of each pair, even as the price goes up every year.

Like many other Salomon people, I've been wearing various models of XA Pro for about seven years or more. The newest version has issues with the heel cup padding. The right shoe had a little less padding than the left, making my heel lift up considerably whilst the left shoe was fine. The laces make squeaky noises and cut into the toe top creating a huge crease and are unusable. Wish I could work for the company to fix this for them because the shoes are otherwise great if they don't fall apart in some other way. These used to be so much better. Salomon shoes are a right

C'est Supercool! Like the drink, the colorway of this V8 provides the nutrition your style demands on the trail or out on the town. Stay ready for pandemics, terrorist attacks and every adventure in between with these fashionably ugly rugged trail running foot vessels.

These shoes fit my feet well, have adequate support and a comfortable fit. I also appreciate the single pull lace tightening system! Thank you.

Rock plate is nice for hiking on uneven terrain, shoes aren't heavy so you don't feel like your walking with 5lbs on your feet. And finally they have a size for my smaller feet which is nice

I love Salomon shoes and boots. I have multiple pairs and I will continue to buy them, but with these current xa pro I have only worn the 5 or 6 times and one of the eyelets for the laces has already broken. Now I'll admit I wear them to work, but I'm typically in an office. This is the second pair that I've had issues with the speed laces. Not sure if it's a quality control issue or workmanship but I'm not too happy about it. I will continue to buy Salomon products for the wear and comfort but I may get away from anything with the speed lace feature for a while.

Best fitting shoes I ever owned. They also last longer than most. But 2 weeks to ship is just crazy!

This is I think my 10th pair of Salomon's, mostly this style. Salomon's are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Styling is very cool, and I get many compliments from all sorts of people.

This is my favorite golf shoe and it is good for hiking (XA Pro 3D). I have owned about 10 pairs of Solomon shoes because they match my foot shape, but half of them are this model because it does everything well for me

These are my go-to shoes. I am on the 7th or 8th generation of these, have walked the Camino de Santiago with them, and many hundreds of miles on other trails. I just purchased two more pair for the Camino next season and will walk over 800 miles total. They are durable, sturdy in all terrain, and soft enough for long walks on hard surfaces. I use both Gore-Tex and non-Gore-Tex versions. To use Gore-Tex or not becomes a personal choice. One caveat...I do replace the factory insole with Sole inserts. I use the medium cushion, red ones. The combination of these inserts and the XA Pro shoes are perfect for my feet! I will continue to buy these shoes as long as they make them!

I have been wearing Solomon's since the Raid model came out more than 20 years ago. They have been my go to hiking, backpacking, outdoor, and casual, and even work shoes since then. I have worn multiple XA Pro models over the years, as well as a few other shoes in their line, and they are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I continue to buy them for their comfort, quality, and style. Salomon continues to produce great shoes and the XA Pro 3D v8 is a great version of the line's continuing evolution. I hike on dirt and rock trails in them on a weekly basis throughout the year in Southern California in both mountain and desert terrain.

I bought these shoes a month ago to wear to work on a daily basis in lieu of traditional work boots and wish I would have made the change years ago. They have helped reduce my Achilles tendonitis and I hardly notice I am wearing anything on my feet. Purchasing a second pair of them today for a collateral assignment at work!

These shoes are super versatile and supportive. Whether hiking. Working out or just walking around town they've been great. Even my podiatrist told me they are a great choice to avoid past foot issues.
