I have had at least 4 pairs, with GoreTex for the winter and not for a cooler summer sneaker. Got to say, I love 'em and don't consider anything else for my feet.

After a month hiking on fairly rugged trails, I think this is the perfect trail shoe. I knew the foot bed would be right because I love my Salomon Quest 4s for challenging terrain and long days. The XA PRO 3D v8 gives me solid support and good feel for terrain. It's very comfortable and fits just snug enough to hold my foot firmlyso I've had no blisters, even on 12K rocky trails. Also comfortable and good around town. I'm not a fan of elastic laces, but these seem to work well and seem to be durable.

I bought this shoe for more than its intended purpose which is supposed to be trail running. I did want a shoe I could trail run in but I also wanted something more and I've definitely abused these shoes, wearing them daily while travelling for over a month and putting lots of kms on city sidewalks as well as on trails. They've generally been great and as promised for a trail shoe. No point in repeating Salomon's descriptors, they're pretty accurate and reasonable. The few things I might add are: - I like a shoe with no seams in the heel cup. Check. And the inner material in the heel cup has proven durable, and not worn through. - The synthetic material in the uppers (NON-Goretex model) is non-absorbent but fast drying. In rain and through puddles, the uppers did not absorb any moisture, Instead my socks got wet, but on the other hand both socks and uppers all dried very quickly! - I was a bit hesitant about the thin wiry laces and tightening system, and whether lace pressure would be distributed evenly over the top of the foot and stay tight. I was pleasantly surprised. It works. The shoes have also been pretty good as a general use shoe. The downside has been that the soft grippy soles, indeed good on trails, are quite soft for pavement and have worn down very rapidly in spots, in turn affecting the comfort. But that's mainly my abuse, not misrepresentation of the shoe. The soles are definitely ok for regular dirt, but not really suited for pavement or sidewalks. It's a bit less clear how they wear when used regularly on rocky surfaces.

I wanted an all black shoe and I had experience with these in another color. The earlier ones were the same size as I get in speed cross (10 Men). They definitely felt and fit bigger. I bought these a half size smaller (9 1/2 Men) and the fit is fantastic. Only worn them a few times for not very long, so not much to say about durability, but my old pair (which I gave to my son) is still going strong!

Good looking and versatile. Wears well with just about anything. Built tough and durable with an aggressive tread that doesn't hold and track in debris. Nothing bad to say about these shoes.

Love the support, especially how the lacing system keeps my foot stable both while running downhill and on rough terrane. These shoes are not the lightest, and didn't feel comfortable when I first put them on, but after a day on the trail they're the MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I have ever owned,. My feet feel great! This is my 4th pair of XA PRO 3D and as long as Solomon makes these shoes I will buy them. Also these shoes are durable. I replace them when the tread on the soles wear out. Imagine that the shoes last so long that the first thing that wears out are the soles! The last pair athletic shoes I had were that durable were leather Adidas tennis shoes I wore in the early 1980s!

The shoe fit perfectly with some wool socks. They do need a small break in period. The quick lace is amazing. And the weight of this shoe is just right.

I love this shoe. I have Cerebral Palsy and I purchase this mshoe so much because I wear the tread out unevenly which cause a higher degree of pronation. However, the shoe is great and easy to put on and off with easy laces

I have always loved the XA line from Salomon! They fit my feet great, I love the speed lacing system, and the non-Gor-Tex edition are very breathable. Supportive and great traction! They fit true to size as well.

I have been wearing a version of this shoe, in black or grey, for 13 years straight. The only flaw in all those years was last year when the string was too long. I love it for numerous reasons, but obviously not changing it too much is one reason I remain loyal.

All good - tried another model, just in case my feet fell out of love with there, and it just wasn't the same. Light feel, comfy - fit great, feel great, look great - awesome traction, what more can I ask for? You guessed it nothing. I'm happy.

I bought for hiking and just walking streets, but these have become my daily shoes. They are very comfortable and look nice always. I bought these to replace a pair I wore out. Very nice shoe, definitely my go to.

So glad this shoe comes in wide again. It is comfortable and gives good traction. This is my 3rd pair. Have used them hiking in Alaska and on trails in Michigan.

This is my 3rd pair 15 years. They wear well. I'm not a runner but wear them for hiking and anything casual. I wear a 13b in work boots, and these fit like a glove. An excellent shoe!

I've been wearing XA Pro 3Ds for over ten years. I climb Camelback Mountain, Phoenix, AZ, USA, every day. It is a steep, rocky trail rated one step short of technical. Every step is a sharp granite rock ranging from the size of a microwave to a dinner table. The support in the toe, heel, and arch on this shoe are the best of any shoe I've worn. Most of the regular hikers wear them. I've trashed 3-4 pairs a year and found nothing as long lasting, comfortable, and sticky-on-the-rocks as these. For easier trails (smoother footing), like the Grand Canyon, Sedona, or Mt Humphrey, I love the Sense Ride 4. It's lighter, more comfortable and just as sticky--But they don't hold up on the tough trails like Camelback.

I purchased these about a month ago and have had them on since then. They have been exactly what I hope they were and a great shoe for hiking dirt trails. I bought the Wides, so I have plenty of room for my big flat Flintstone feet. I have been very impressed with the arch support and the ruggedness of the lugs.

I've own several pair of these through the years. Salomon really hit the market on them. They're versatile, durable and most importantly they seem to get more comfortable as you wear them. This maybe the perfect shoe

Unlike most other Salomon shoes I've purchased these are Indestructible. I love the heavily reinforced toe box for technical trails. The wide fit is excellent.
