overall a great flip flop. but for me the width was to narrow. great texture on the foot bed and great traction for the sole. just not comfortable on these wide feets.

Sandals straps were tied, making the foot to slide all the way in, leaving to much space in the front and almost no space in the heel.

I wear flip flops year round, and I wear them all of the time. Overall, these flip flops are ok. They are not as tight or snug feeling, as I prefer higher-end flip flops to be. However, I like the lugs, the Vibram bottoms, and they are comfortable.

Love the fact Merrel is making a flipflop with Vibram now that Chaco has gone to China and cheap, but the straps on this flip are way to loose to confidently walk in let alone do a river trip with them.

I had a pair of Merrell flip flops from 10 years ago - they were great and lasted a long time. The Breakwater design is poor & far less comfortable. They're like a cheep pair you'd get at a kiosk. Sorry to see Merrell has lowered their standards.

I ordered Breakwater Flip and Nova 2 (both in size 8).
Nova 2 fits well but Breakwater Flip is too small. Exchanged for size 9 and is it still a bit small. I never had any shoes size 10 of any brand.
My Merrell shoes were always 8.5
I can only exchange once. Now have to pay $ to return the item. Something is not right here.

These look great in the photos and spec department but as others have said they run extremely small. The sandals are hard with no cushioning at all although I didn't mind the strap the arch and footbed are just really really strange and slippery. These almost feel like a mistake or something. Returning mine.

Way more narrow than any sandles I've ever bought.. Slippery foot bed... The sole looks nice like it would grip well but wouldn't know

I have a very similar experience to a different reviewer. After wearing them for a few months last season the toe strap stretched out so far that the left flip-flop is unwearable. It was surprising given the experience I have had with Merrill shoes and boots.

good fit, initially. the left flip flop nylon has stretched and no longer feels secure on my foot as the bit of strapping between your toe has elongated from the sole. It seems like the glue didn't securely capture the nylon and allowed it to pull out a bit.
Otherwise, I love the durability of the sole and overall look and fit of the flip flop.

The strap is pulling the flippers towards the outside of the foot and the foot surface is a bit slippery so as a results
every step i take half of my foot is outisde of the flippers by the time my foot hits the ground again, makes it very uncomfortable to walk with.
Super dissapointed!!!

Really wanted to like these because of the footbed and tread. Unfortunately, they're too small and fit crooked on my feet so my heels hang over the inside. Also, they should make the straps a little wider.

The first pair of flip flops to cause blisters on the top of my feet from the strap. The strap is not soft...so any movement will eventually erode your skin.

The webbing is rough and causes abrasive blisters. The toe loops are also misaligned so the flips sit crooked on your feet.
