Have been looking for this style of easy on Merrills and glad I found them. The toe box is less flexible than the previous style which was why I didn't give 5 stars.

I got these shoes to wear for hiking/water adventures. They are comfortable and dry quickly. However, they run large. I normally wear an 8-8.5 depending on the shoe. I ordered an 8.5 and feel certain I could have gotten away with a 7.5. They also run a bit wide.

my feet are on the narrow side so i was a bit worried these might be too wide. sadly they were even wider than i expected- i can barely keep them on my feet!
the length is pretty true to size. i'm a 7 or 7.5, and a 7 in these were about right length-wise. they seem well made and the soles seem very sturdy! i'm sad to have to return them.

I like these alot but will have to exchange for a half size down. I have wide feet- it's rare that my size 9 1/2 to be too large. Brindle color is nice.

These DO run LARGE!! This Merrell Mary Jane sandal MIGHT be really good for local walks. Also good WITH socks for when you want your foot to be more covered (especially IF you have lots of deer walking though your neighborhood). I was hoping that the next 1/2 Size down (arriving in 2 days) MIGHT work for me. These are wide enough for my Wide Toe area and the mesh is flexible enough for my "Tall" Big Toe. There is enough room to Swap out the Factory Insole for an Insole with More Arch Support. Unfortunately, my Left foot started to hurt (Morton's Neuroma) after a few minutes (& I was already wearing an Oval Gel Pad for that problem). I had checked the sole to make sure the sole was FIRM enough & held shoe to see if it had lateral support. Then I REMEMBERED a Zappos Review I read: A Zappos Shopper was SO excited to find this Mary Jane & showed them to her Podiatrist. Then her Podiatrist demonstrated how FLEXIBLE THE SOLE WAS under the Toes. My own Podiatrist has shown me how to GENTLY flex the ball of boot area to Make Sure that I ONLY wear shoes that have a FIRM Sole (so NOT to aggravate my Morton's Neuroma). So.....sadly....I am returning them. Maybe Next Year Merrell will make a NEW Summer Sandal!

Had Merrell water shoes before so pretty much what was expected.
The foot bed is a little different and the holes seem more noticeable when walking a lot in then. Not a deal breaker and will probably get better as they're worn

There are few cute summer shoes that provide good ventilation and accommodate my orthodics. These are great, and look good with shorts or casual/sporty skirts/dresses.

I bought these in summer 2022 and have used them many times. Great shoes with one flaw - the strap is quite long. This would work well for somebody with a wide or thick foot, but on my average foot it means the Velcro on the end of the strap (the loop side) isn't grasping enough of the hook side to stay on securely. I am going to try and sew on some additional Velcro to make these work because otherwise they're really useful. I use them to walk to and from the beach and also wear them in the water if it's particularly rocky.
If Merrell added slightly longer lengths of Velcro (and shortened strap a little perhaps) they'd be perfect

Fits large so recommend size down :(
Also a lot of blisters so not working well for water/wet wear as have to wear socks.

I don't have wide feet but this fit is odd. Size 7 is too small but 7.5 is too big so I wear socks with them and live with it. I could not return the size 7 since I wore them ugh an expensive mistake!

I bought these to wear as an alternative to my Merrell Moab hiking shoes (so comfortable) when walking the dog during the warmer summer months. We take an hour-long walk after work during the week and then more on the weekends along a paved nature trail behind our subdivision.
My first impression when I tried them on was 'wow, these are comfortable right out of the box'. And they are. The heel cup fits well and is supportive and provides good shock absorption. Where I find that they lack is in the support/cushion under the ball of the foot. My feet hurt at the end of a one-hour walk. The only other criticism that I have relates to the material that the sole of the shoe is made of. My intent was to wear these shoes without socks, however, I find the material to be abrasive, causing the soles of my feet to feel like they're burning due to the friction against the material. A perforated, non-woven material would be better IMO. So, for now I wear them with a thin cotton sock and hope that the sole will soften/wear a little over time so that I can go without them.

These shoes are very comfortable and very good for hiking, walking, gym, etc. However, they are truly ugly, nothing pretty about the mesh view of one's toes. Socks or not.

Merrells are stiffer than they used to be. Less flexible. Recycled materials? Cheaper materials? Not sure. Like the ones from 10 years ago better.

This shoe scratches the feet on the inside. It should be a soft material against your foot. That makes it uncomfortable. Otherwise it's great.

Shoes seem fine, but I really don't like the fact that the top is "see through" over the toes. Wish that part was lined as the mesh does not feel good to my toes.

I had only worn my new WaterPro Pandi 2 shoes to the dog beach.....not rugged terrain. I had them for just one month and they sprung a hole between the mesh and the stitching. One month. Sadly, I am not impressed.

I really wanted to love this waterproof slip-on Mary Jane sneaker. It's almost exactly what I've been looking for for some time. It's a cute design, has a great non-slip tread, the ability to adjust the strap to many different foot types (even my high instep), is waterproof, ventilated, and has a rugged tread for all terrain. However, the fit is frumpy, the shoe lacks shape to the foot in the middle of the shoe without the strap.
It is awkward to walk in, almost as if it were clown shoes, the design is not quite right. Merrill made slip-on Mary Jane sneakers in the past that had a great fit, a good tread, with elastic straps. They were nearly perfect, too, but the strap was way too short for my instep, and in that case, an adjustable strap would have made them perfect. Merrill, go back to that style and then the shoe would be perfect.

The inside fabric is very rough, it started rubbing my feet right away, it is a very unpleasant feeling. I can't imagine waking in them at all.

Strange situation. I ordered a size 8, tried them on and they were WAY TOO SMALL. So I exchanged them for an 81/2 that were WAY TOO BIG. My next option was to reorder another size 8 since I didn't think there could be that much of a difference in 1/2 size. So the 2nd size 8 was still a little large but I kept them and they're ok. Probably could have used a 7 1/2. My guess is that the first pair I ordered were not an 8 (maybe a 6.5 or 7) but were in a box labeled size 8. Didn't check the size on the shoe. Live and learn.

The fit was good and they look great but very hard shell that rubbed against bony part of my foot and I imagine if a grain of sand got in there I would have blisters. Unfortunately I had to return for this reason.
