When you say something is waterproof it should be exactly that waterproof. These Boots are very comfortable I've had several pair and love them for that fact, but these boots cannot handle any type of deep water a little rain won't hurt them but if you step in a deep puddle or a stream your socks will get wet.

I love the fit of the Moab shoes. They are my go to shoes for just about everything thing I do. I bought the mid waterproof for my fall raining day walks thinking they would keep my feet dry. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. I would describe them as water resistant, not waterproof. If you are going to be walking in very damp conditions these aren't the shoes you want to be wearing.

Too snug. I ordered the same size as I have in the past 6 Merrill's. This pair is too small. I had to wear them though.

Well the Moab 2 is a dud! They definitely took the original Moab hiker with an Nike Air hiking sole and tried to make a lightweight hiker. Definitely not impressed with the quality of the Hiking shoe. Fits true to size but the quality of the construction has been downgraded. Sole is clued footbed is plastic and foam.

I have had these for 2 months now and the waterproof did not last. About a month after wearing them regularly through wet grass, my feet would be soaked. They are super comfortable and great if you are going to stay in the dry but definitely not waterproof. I would look elsewhere if you are wanting waterproof.

After 2 miles of hiking a major blister formed underneath my right big toe. I never had blisters before. I was wearing winter wool socks. This never happened with my Moab low cut waterproof hiking boots

I've had these a year now but really only used them for two weeks. I wear these for deer season. We hunt in a rugged, hilly area with plenty of steep inclines and little streams. The boots fit well, are very rugged, and function flawlessly. They are one of the better hiking boots I've used. However, I'm not certain whether the advertising is wrong or I have a faulty pair, but they are not waterproof. After wadng through a stream a couple inches deep my feet were soaked for the rest of my multi-hour hunt. I was a bit disappointed. I understand they aren't made for deep water, but they shouldn't leak from walking in a puddle.

Sizing is all over the map. I have Merrell's at 10.5W that are an excellent fit bought in 2019, a pair of 10.5W bought in 2021 that are huge. A pair of 9.5W that are too wide and a 9.5 pair too narrow both bought in 2022.

The shoes are average, neither good neither bad. I felt they are slightly overweight.

These boots were purchased as a replacement to the original Moab w/Gore-Tex...and they were definitely lower quality. They were not waterproof and almost immediately after purchasing them I noticed my feet getting soaked in just wet grass, let alone full submersion into water. They are comfortable though and hold up well on the trail, I just think they should remove the "Waterproof" label, because it's pretty misleading.

Little stiff. Feet sweat a bit, but to be fair, it was Congaree National Park in July. I'd say they sweat less than expected. Only real complaint is my left Achilles started to feel like the boot was putting a lot of pressure on it at the top around Mile 3-4. It's enough for me to send these back.

Comfortable shoe, good arch support. Wish the soles would last longer, but I do put a lot of miles on them. Not very good waterproofing.

To be fair I gave 3 stars because I have not been able to really go test them. I have plantars faciaitis and have to break in any new shoe very careful with right insoles. So far I like them, but im not a fair review as my feet are messed up. I do like there build an they are wider then most which I need cause of my duck feet. Euro hiker boots run alot narrower it seems.

Bought my boots four months ago. Not daily worn. The top nylon eyelet came out. Now what? Can't repair it. Disappointed. Have only worn Merrels for years. This may be my last ones.

The tongue on the right boot is poorly constructed, doesn't fold properly, is hard and digs in to the top of my foot. The left boot does not have this problem because the tongue is ample, soft and well made. The Merrell boots that these replace are wearing out and have been the best boots I have ever owned. Pity.

Very disappointed with how heavy these shoes are. Would not recommend and would have returned them if allowed. I still wanted to give them a chance and went for a 3 mile hike. All I could think was how heavy they felt. Again, very dissatisfied.

Had multiple other Merrell shoes - usually stretch Chameleon. Worn nearly every day and lasted several years. Had these about a year and both shoes are coming apart at seams. Also, they say they are waterproof and this definitely is not true. Water resistant, maybe. Even morning dew soaked through.

I have worn these boots now for over a year. Very comfortable right out of the box. The support is excellent considering the light weight. Having now worn them for 4 seasons including in snowy, icy conditions there are no issues with traction or grip. Only disappointment is that they are NOT waterproof as advertised.

I've had the boot for a couple of years now. It's been pretty comfortable and will keep your feet warm in colder weather. I generally wear these with Smartwool socks that are full or medium cushion. My only complaints with the boot are that the insoles are super cheap, and I feel like the heel portion is raised just enough to be noticeable and it sometimes flairs up my plantar fasciitis. I've got a few other pairs of Merrel shoes and don't have that issue with those. Just this pair of boots. I haven't had the chance to try other boots from merrel, but looking forward to trying more in the future. Also the waterproof feature is definitely a plus.

Most comfortable hiking boot I've ever worn. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on and remain so after over 100 miles of hiking - and still look and feel like new.

Bought these back in September or October. They should definitely be listed as water RESISTANT and not waterPROOF. At first, I thought maybe water was just coming over the top of the boot, but after more testing, I figured out it was soaking in from the toes. If you step in a puddle that goes over the toe your feet will get wet! They shed most snow and water fairly well though. On the plus side, they are very comfortable out of the box and super stable on hikes.

Bought my 1st pair about 2 1/2 yrs. ago. Within 2 weeks, had a tear in the top toe area. I didn't do anything other than basic hiking. I'm assuming they tore from a small branch or something? I brought them back to the store, they were replaced. Then it happened again roughly about 2 years later. I unfortunately won't buy another pair, they need to make this area of the boot tougher, I feel. I've worn other boots, & put them through way worse for longer w/o any damage.

I purchased a pair of the Moab 2 Mid Waterproof hiking boots at a Merrell store in November 2020, and my shoes also came apart at the sole (see picture). I can only guess this was a "bad batch" as I have owned and worn several pairs of Merrell Moabs over the years (both in the Waterproof and Ventilator styles, and in the Low-rise and Mid-rise) and this was the first pair that split like this after minimal wear. I contacted the Customer Service department via telephone (and email), completed their defective product form online, and was advised this would be covered under Merrell's warranty. I understand they will be sending me a new replacement pair in the near future. I hope this is an isolated incident and will continue to purchase and wear Merrells - unless this becomes a recurring quality control issue. Jeff S. Arizona
