This shoe felt really good to walk on but seemed a little tight on my foot. I was afraid I would not wear it in the long run if I kept it. Thus, I returned it to NB.

While this particular shoe is comfortable for everyday wear, I would not recommend for running. And I didn’t buy it for running. Not sure about these fresh foam shoes as to support and doubt whether they can take the beating from running. Nevertheless, they look great and are good for walking and workouts at the gym.
I'd also recommend:
None. Have been a NB customer long before they were even available through stores.

I run regularly and have used the New Balance Fresh Foam Zante (V1 on) for years -- going through a pair roughly every 6 weeks. I bought these Fresh Foam Tempo as a hopeful replacement for the Zante. They do not work for me -- the Tempo seem to have a stiffer and a higher heel cup and heel cuff/collar. They also seem to have more overall drop and are noticeably thinner under my toes. I did a trial on the treadmill half walking (fast) and half jogging and have deep red rub/crush spots on the backs of my heels and on the outset under my ankle ball. If I had been going at a normal faster pace and for longer, this would have been even worse. Sadly, they're going back and the search continues.

Shoe runs way short compared to the Pursuit and Solas. Could have used a half size or maybe a full size larger!

Ok. Nothing special. I have owned almost every Zante and this isn't as good from a fit or responsiveness angle. Seems like they are going for cushioning too much.

After a few months of wearing these for walking and running, averaging about 20 miles per week, I am giving up on them.
They seemed a bit narrow, and not enough side support, but I through I would try them.
giving up on these and upgrading to the 990V5. Hoping those work better.
Maybe this model just down't work well for a wider foot. I wished I had gone with my intuition and returned them back when they were new

I only buy New Balance. all the ones I've purchased in the past have been great.

I really wanted to like these. My outings are typically 6-8 miles at a time on roads - hills, flats, and everything in between. The shoes always felt a half size too small (I wear a 10.5 and ordered a 10.5). Previously had two pairs of Zante 3s and one Zante 4. Most recently I was running in the Zante Pursuit (which was a DREAM) but the Fresh Foam midsole on those has lost their kick and my knees were screaming after an easy 6. Needless to say, I was looking for added cushion onto a Zante frame. This ain't it, regretfully. Toes pinched in the toe box every run, blisters formed each run. The upper left my foot feeling constricted and lifted in the clunky heel. Honestly it the Tempo feels like a shoe with an immense heel stack height. NB has lost me, for now, after being a long time advocate.

It's light and soft shoe. Feels good for long runs but upper is not ventilating well. Feet got very hot quickly, not that good for summer.

I wear 8 in the trail running version but would almost need a 9 in this style. Wish there was more consistency.

I usually wear a 14 but wear a 15 in NB running shoes. The styling looks great and the cushion is great. Unfortunately the toe box is wider than my foot. When fully laced tight it causes the toe box material to bunch up and looks terrible. It caused the material on top of my toes to either bunch up, or push down and put pressure on the top of my feet The lace hole design is odd and should be re-engineered. Overall looks good, but on a size 15 just laces up bad.

The fit was nice on my wide, size 13 feet but this "fresh foam" footbed crushed under my heels after less than a full day of walking at work. To be fair I weigh 260# but I've not had this trouble with any other shoe. In my experience the quality just is not there.

I love NB shoes. Normally they are supportive and fit my flat wide feet. These did not! They were small and just did not feel supportive for me! Back they go!

The sizes on NB shoes are all out of whack. The newer 12 wide sizes are super boxy and too wide in the heel. The 12 wide is so small it hurt my feet but the 12.5 wide is so boxy my heels are not at all secure. I've always used NB because they had great wide shoes but these are unwearable. After so many years I need to look for another brand.

Good looking shoe, but I didn't like the sole...there isn't much traction and I could see these nubs wearing down to nothing pretty quickly.

Wasn't a fan. Fell apart within 6 days of just walking. Inside materials tore and I tried to fix(tape with padding) them but they just continued to fall apart. Used different insoles because the ones that came with them were ultra thin and flimsy. Feet started hurting while wearing them. Won't be getting these again.

Not even close to the right size. I went up a full size from my normal 12 to a 13 and still too small. Also, because of the tongue construction almost impossible to get my foot into the shoe because of my high arches.

This is the first of this model I bought. I usually buy the 860, but I thought I would try this for hanging out. I got wide but it was still way too narrow. Otherwise the shoe looked good but not as well made as the 860

I feel like I am running on stilts while a python tries to strangle my feet.
They are a fine shoe, but they are not the Zante replacement they were meant to be. The Zantes had a wider toe box and a more flexible upper to allow the foot to flex more. The Zante also had a thinner sole with just the right amount of cushion.
The sole on these is way too thick and unnecessarily overly cushioned. I'm just waiting to roll an ankle running around on these stilts.

I have run in every version of the Zante and loved those shoes. These shoes somehow feel less soft at lower speeds AND less responsive when you pick up the pace. The Zante felt like it fit snugly and cushioned your foot just the right amount while allowing you to run naturally. New balance added several things, like the plastic heel piece, that just make this shoe feel bulky and less natural to run in. If you're looking for an inexpensive, basic, light running shoe these are probably fine. If you're a Zante lover looking for a replacement, look elsewhere (and let me know if you find a good alternative).

My son has been wearing a 14 W, for a couple of years, and I just ordered him these, and they are smaller when placed beside his last two pair. So I'm now exchanging these and since the toe seems to be slimmer in the current models, I'm going to try a 15 extra wide. Otherwise this shoe seems nice, and my son like the colors of the red, yellow and grey.

Didn't end up running in these, as I didn't like the fit out of the box, but just wearing them around the house for a bit I didn't find these comfortable. No arch support to speak of and a pretty firm feel. Will be returning ASAP.
