After reading the reviews about them running small, I was confused as to what size I needed to order. I went ahead and ordered my normal size 8 and I'm glad that I did. They fit just fine. I'm 5' 5'' and I weight 140. They are very light weight, cool and comfortable for a hot summer day.

I Would have given them a 5 star except the snaps are really hard to work.

First off, glad I listened about the size issue. They run small! Order one up. I did and they fit great. I like the mesh liners in the pockets- helps to dry faster. There are 3 pockets, one is hidden with a zipper in the back. My iPhone can fit in it, and I can zip it shut, but probably not good for sitting. I gave it 4 stars only because they could improve by making an iPhone friendly pocket on the outside of the thigh. They did that previously-not sure why the change. Everyone carries a phone these days...

I love these shorts. They are cool and comfy, but you need to order one size up. I wear size 8 in all of my other Columbia pants and shorts, but these were tight in the waist so I had to return for a 10.

The shorts are definitely comfortable, and I really like the elastic waistband. They do run really small though. I'm normally a size 4 in Loft and Banana Republic, but I'm a size 8 in these shorts! Might want to buy two sizes to be safe.

I would have given 5 stars...butt, pun intended, the fabric is thin so be careful of your undies because everyone will know what your wearing. They are comfortable and with the fabric I'm sure they will dry fast. I haven't worn them camping yet. So far so good in home use. I bought another pair in Navy and I haven't received them yet to compare. I'm 51, 5'4" and 160 lbs and purchased a size 12.

I love the style, fit and comfort of these shorts. I couldn't give them a full five stars because some of the colors are see through. I typically wear a size small in Columbia pants. I'm 5'6", 130lbs, 28" waist, 38" hips and 11" inseam. I ordered the 5" length and my thigh measures about 20-21" at that point and the legs fit nicely - not tight. I could get into a size 4 because the shorts are stretchy but the inseam was way too short and overall the shorts were too tight. I chose the size 6. For me there seemed to be a big jump between the size 4 and size 6 but the size 6 is fine and gives me a little wiggle room. Here is my rundown on the colors . . . I tried the Fossil and White and they were TOTALLY see through! The Stormy Blue and Red Lily weren't as transparent but you need to wear nude underwear otherwise it will show through. The Black and Collegiate Navy were not see through. I kept the Black and Collegiate Navy and Red Lily. I sent the Stormy Blue back because I didn't have a top to wear with them but the color was very pretty. I like these enough that I've ordered the Waterfall and hope it will be similar to the Red Lily (not too see through).

The shorts are very comfortable. I got the bright blue, a nice change from my usual neutral bottoms. Runs true to size. Just enough stretch.

I went with the suggestions and bought a size down. I can get them on but there are stretch marks towards the pockets that make them look awkward. Ordering my normal Columbia size!

Love the shorts but the white ones are see through and you see the pockets in front and back. Not a good look

I ordered these in black and Fossil. The black were great, but the fossil is see threw! Completely! You could see my thing and my tattoo on my right upper butt cheek. I returned the fossil color.

The reason for lower rating is they are thinner and shorter than I expected. They are see through and that is not what I wanted. I will wear them around the house but not on public.

I've now owned 8 or more pairs of this short, starting with the coral point II. I needed more for work and since I'd previously gotten the khaki "fossil" color and black I stuck with those. However I was VERY disappointed to find out my khaki one are SEE-THROUGH! None of the images of them in photos show them being even a bit see through. I plan to return them as I can't use them for work. The black ones are good, fabric is a bit stretchier than previous model, which I like.

My wife bought these in white and loves the way they fit and not so binding on the legs. The only complaint is that they are see through. She is thinking about buying others in different colors and maybe using the white ones for swimsuit coverup.

I had high hopes. Runs small compared to other shorts. Returned.

Fit as expected. Great color, light fabric and not that stiff feeling that some fabrics have. Very comfy! But I absolutely hate the buttons on this short, they are very hard to button/unbutton.

These shorts fit great but I returned them as the material is super sheer which is not practical for general use.

I ordered my usual shorts size. Should have ordered a size up.

Usually wear a size 6 short and had to get a size 10 for them not to be too tight. for a hot day these are very cool

Always looking for light material, but this product is too thin, see through, but like the light weight.

Fit small. I normally wear a size 8/medium. Ordered a medium but were too tight.

The material was rough and itchy on my skin. The fit and length were very nice. The only issue I had was the material wasn't very comfortable for me.

These run small! The fabric is terrific but they run too small.
