Most comfortable shoes my daughter has ever worn. Looking to purchase another pair soon for a little variety. The extra room in the front and the added width make this shoe the best. We purchased them at the recommendation of her orthopedic doctor.

This is my first Altra. I was skeptical it did not look like my typical sport shoes when I found them on zappos. But according to reviews I ordered it. These shoes meets my all ''have tos'' The toe box has enough room, the width, the most important is how they feel. I usually like little elevation at my hill. These shoes don't have elevation and yet it is so reliving, no pressure on foot ball at all. I am considering wearing them for work as well.

Wow this shoe changed my perception of running. All these years I've unknowingly suffered from pronated feet and injured my knee because of it. This shoe and the innovarch is the best technology for this specific problem. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LEAVE THIS SHOE AS IS!! Don't take away the support, laces, anything. This shoe fixes my pronation and allows me to run in line without my foot rolling. Amazing shoe if you have arch issues. Don't get this shoe if you don't, easy enough!

I sized down a half size from my normal Altra shoes and the shoes were great. My ankles are shot and my arches collapse. But the artificial arch in most running shoes aggravates my knees and throws everything off. This is a great fix. The lace system adding the arch support from the side feels good and no knee problems for me. If you have a situation like mine you will want to buy a few pairs. 5 stars for ingenuity.

These are the most comfortable supportive shoes I’ve ever owned. I have narrow feet and falling arches, and the Innovarch lacing system provides cradle-like support. So much more comfortable than the traditional rigid arch structure in most stability shoes. I can imagine these might not work for everyone but I am thrilled.
I'd also recommend:

These shoes felt big in the toe box but after wearing them a bit, they feel just right!

Perfect shoes for my feet. I suffer from neuropathy in my feet after a bout of cancer and chemo. Your shoes so help my feet with their support and wide toe width.

In the past I have always spent $350 for custom inserts in my athletic shoes. Never again! Don't need them with the Provision 4. Truly amazing! Incredibly comfortable shoes!

After spending 44 years on my feet as a flight attendant, my feet are a problem. This is a good all around shoe for me. I wear the shoes for long walks (ten miles) and running errands. The toe box is very roomy which helps my Morton's toe and my Morton's neuroma. The heels are comfortable for the bumps on the back of my heels. The sides above the ankle dip which is great because I have protruding ankle bones. No other shoe covers these three issues. I have high arches, so I have traded out the cushioned soles for my own orthotics. I am very happy and would highly recommend this shoe, although my daughters make fun of me because of the wide toe box. Comfort over fashion. However, I think they look just fine.

These are my second pair of these shoes. I cannot say enough good things about them! I put about 500 miles on them in 4 months. They have held up well and my feet and legs feel amazing. I no longer ache after runs! I love the toe box, I love the minimal yet very cushiony feel, I love the arch support intertwined with the laces, I love the stability of these. I'm more of a forefoot runner and these help me achieve a more mid foot strike. I will buy these over and over! Thank you, Altra!!!

I love these Altra's. I've run in these for years and the new upgrades are fabulous! I have tried other zero drop shoes and never get the same comfort and performance! I recommend these to all my clients Ans friends.

Lovely color. In terms of the design for Provision 4 women, make no mistake that the toe box is a wide toe box. However, the height of the toe box seems 0.05 inch (1 mm ) shorter than some of the other Altra styles (Some reviewers have commented that it was not as deep as they would like). The top of the shoe front portion, including the toe box , is more net like. The most noteworthy part of this Provision 4 design is the lace section, the middle section of the sneaker. It has something that is like the comb-over hair style. Most sneakers that i have seen have left and right sides symmetrical for laces. Not with Provision 4. One side of the lacing holes sit on an outgrowth of the bottom sole, extended from the arch part of the insole, basically. Maybe it would work for you. For me, though, it creates an imbalance of some sort when walking that i cannot fix. The sole for Provision feels firm. But i should add that i take out the in sole for all the road styles, except for the trail types. All in all, Provision 4 is an admirable effort on the design team.

I injured my foot a couple years ago in a way that subluxated my calcaneus and talus. Since, a neutral shoe has felt sloppy like my foot has to make an effort to keep it on. I switched to the provision when the sales associate at fleet feet saw a pronation tendency on that foot and it has been GAME CHANGER. I love these and am so happy I could find a pair of Altras that would work for me again! Always get fitted the the right shoe. I don't recommend this to everyone. But I love this shoe for my current foot situation!

Although these shoes are overbuilt for me, i love the escalates, my daughter and my mom love them. My daughters ankles would crash in as she run but not in these shoes. So consider buying these if you need that extra support

Everyone's foot and gait deviations are different. This shoe has been great for me. I'd love some other darker color options (I play in the woods and dirt) and a more durable upper mesh over the toe, but otherwise have nothing but good things to say about this model.

Very comfortable. Plenty of toe room for my duck shaped feet. Love them but makes me look pidgin toed. Still will take comfort over style

This shoe was a big change from my previous Asics recommended to me at a running shoes store. I was having knee tracking issues and wanted to lessen the drop of the shoes I was wearing. Zero drop definitely feels different at first and my Achilles and calves needed to get used to working more, but since that these shoes have been a blessing! Super light weight and with enough cushion my pace has increased and my feet feel one with the shoe! The arch bar on the instep is great for my overpronation as well. Knee issues gone and running faster than ever!

I've been wearing Altras for three years after wearing Brooks for over a decade and loved the Provision 3. I was excited to read about the InnovArch and it's been a game changer for me. I can feel my foot muscles being activated when I wear these shoes and believe they're more responsive than the Provision 3s. Try a half size up from your regular Altra size. I found the toe box way too narrow/the length too short in my regular size, but the half size up solved that. I would re-lace the sneakers before you first take them out. Additionally the tongue doesn't really stick it - it operate best when it lays completely flush against the foot and the edge aligning with the collar. All in all, I'm excited to log some miles in these!

After years of backpacking and lots of walking, my feet have flattened and developed some issues. This shoe (with toe socks) allows my toes to spread and keeps my heels stable. I like the supportive lacing system and it worked great for me. I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot, and these shoes seem to help a little with that - it's just going to take time and patience in that department. These shoes have held up well to daily miles and repeated washing. I am going to buy two more pairs. My only wish is that there were some different colors, but other than that I definitely recommend.

The arch support feels great, have not run in them a whole bunch yet but initial impressions are good. More cushioned than I thought they'd be but not in a bad way. Very flat narrow foot here, overpronator to the max. The rail and arch thing noticeably puts me more in the middle of the shoe without putting a hard piece of plastic in the arch which I really like.

I am someone who used to run in Saucony Mirage and I LOVED the shoe. After they stopped making them I spent 2-3 years trying to find the right shoe to run in, especially as I was increasing my distances. Since then, with different shoes, I have developed lower back pain on my right side. It's a very small muscle in my back, and it will flare up periodically. I've also found that narrower shoes were beginning to rub my feet wrong in certain areas. I decided to try these, as I was looking for a fairly flat shoe, with good support and a wide toe box. This is the shoe. I've had these for just under a week now and the shoe fits like a dream and feels great while I run. I was told I was always a hard heel striker, but I think that come from wearing running shoes with a very cushioned heel. I found that now I land mid-foot to the ball of my foot and my foot reacts faster on the pavement. The movement doesn't feel so harsh on my heel and back. I'm looking forward to training in them for the next few weeks to see how they do!

Unfortunately the 10.5 was a bit shorter than expected so they had to go back. Fortunately I ordered another Altra style that fit perfectly. Nice fit otherwise.

I decided to try the Provision 4 as a back-up for my Altra Torins. I needed just a little bit more support than I had in the Torin. Mostly I'm a neutral runner with few mechanical problems with knees and feet, with the exception of an old injury that needs some shoring up. For me, the Provision 4 is the answer to that problem. I went for a 7+ mile run in them, today, right out of the box. I still get the benefit of the zero drop, while having just enough support to keep feeling great on longer runs. I would definitely recommend these to Altra fans, or anyone else.
