These shoes were instantly comfortable, but wearing them for a few hours tired me out. I think they are just too heavy. I prefer the lighter NB running shoes. I returned these shoes.

These are good looking shoes. I have a really wide foot and a narrow heal and they fit great. Unfortunately, when I walked the heal felt big, clunky and unresponsive. Too bad I can't just stand still with these on! What a bummer! I have to send them back.

I have super flat feet with over-pronation, and these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. This is my second pair.

I started buying 990v4 (now v5) years ago at the advice of my podiatrist/foot surgeon. Every year, he buys a pair of every new New Balance men's shoe (and competing brands such as Adidas) to see if anything superior to the NB 990 gets released. Still, even now, he prescribes the 990. If anyone has foot-ankle-knee-leg-hip issues, buy these. I continually buy new 990s; run in them, squat-deadlift-workout in them; I wear one pair indoors (versus slippers, mocs, etc.) and one pair for everything outdoors. I tear out the thin liner in the footbed and insert my custom-made orthotics: combined with the shoe's cushioning, I never ever had another issue. Before I had the orthotics made, my issue (completely flat feet, fallen arches) got resolved by the New Balance 990s. The orthotics only make it even better. No pain. The fit is true to size, true to width.

these sneakers are perfect for my problem feet. wide toe box accommodates my bunions. good fit accommodates my narrow heel, and arch support is perfect. Also, my custom orthotics fit comfortably in these sneakers.

The inner sole felt hard and had little to no arch support.

Ordered New Balance because they were the only sneaker available in narrow. Still much too wide! Length felt correct.

I wear a 9 wide or 9.5 wide in most running shoes. This one I tried a 9.5 medium on the recommendation of Zappos customer service. They were correct in that the length was perfect, and the medium was roomier than most of New Balance's models, almost but not quite as wide as a 9.5 wide would be in other new balance models. However, I have a slight pronation on my left foot, normal arches, and a narrow heel, with bunions make me take a wide in most shoes. The 940 had a nice roomy toe box, but the arch support was too pronounced for my left foot leaving it aching after only a few minutes of walking (never had that problem in any other athletic shoe before). Also, for a stability shoe that is supposed to help correct pronation, it seemed to make both feet including my 'good' right foot roll slightly inward. I find the stability Rubix model by new balance much more comfortable, however they run narrow and long - so the 9 wide Rubix fits more like a 9.5 medium and going up to a 9.5 wide Rubix for width results in a very long shoe but with appropriate width. Also, the Rubix is more stylish and less 'stiff' feeling, though the 940 looks smaller on the foot. If your pronation is slight, I recommend the new balance 840 for just an all around comfortable walking shoe.

My wife purchased March 10, 2022. Walks 4 miles/day, has regular pedicures and wears athletic socks. Already has a hole in one toe, with the other starting. Very disappointed.

I require a size 11 narrow shoe and these fit perfectly. They are also very comfortable. I put them on the first day and walked my usual 5 miles without any problems.

This is my 'go to' running shoe! I wear a very hard-to-find size: 9.5 AA and I run 30-40 miles a week. I mostly do 10K to 30K races. I also have a high arch & my feet are also 'low volume' in addition to being narrow. I do swap out the included insole for my favorite high-arch running specific insole but I do this with every single shoe I own; if you don't have a high arch or if you do less milage, the included insoles may be perfectly fine for you. I have gone through probably 4-5 pairs of these running shoes & I am SO happy with them. Besides offering me great support for my runs, the uppers really have been great because I can cinch things up tight enough to support my feet but the softness of the upper doesn't bother the bone spur on one of my big toes (which I just had removed last month). All in all, I LOVE these running shoes from New Balance! And Zappos' service is the BEST!

Felt delicious, as expected. Had a pair that I wore daily for some time, and finally they did not feel supportive. Looking forward to many comfortable-feet days in these new ones.

Love the look and supporting this shoe. I wear a AA in Vaneli. It is very hard to find narrow shoes that are ACTUALLY NARROW. These fit my narrow, flat feet perfectly

I returned another pair of New Balance because they were a little tight. I ordered these in a half size larger and I shouldn’t have. They run more accurate

Love love love these shoes! I don't need the extra inserts for my over pronation. They are so comfortable!! I'm very happy with my purchase.

I had ankle surgery 3 months ago and needed a double wide sneaker. Very comfortable, great support and the width was great.

They feel good but there is not much arch support.
