I can put aside the very doofy look, which I fully expected but disregarded since this purchase was “function over fashion.” I bought these for hiking by the river. They are okay for this purpose for a short time, but after a while the arch gets very uncomfortable. I can’t return these since I wore them already but I would not recommend.

Just like other reviews stated. They fell apart with only about ten days of use. Luckily they are within the return window. Zappos has granted a return for these sadly comfortable yet defective sandals.

Size and fit were spot on. They seemed to be made well. But the bottom of the sandal had a design to it that I felt on the bottom of my feet - and if on my feet all day would definitely become uncomfortable. I returned them. I want a pair of sandals that feel like a cloud under my feet, not something that will tear up the bottom of my feet as the day wears on.

These are okay. Heard alot of hype about them. They gave me blisters. I wear Keenes all the time. The Keenes are cheaper and feel more comfortable.

Sandals fit great with tons of cushioning and support. However, the deal breaker for me was the sticky insole while wearing sandals barefoot. Will be returning and sticking with my trusty Keens.

Light weight and comfortable shoe but strap rubs on inside of my foot .

I love these shoes sand wear them for everything, I would have given 5 stars but the elastic shoe ties and top tab broke within a year. Could have just been the pair I got!

I will preface this with the fact that I have feet that rarely see a beach or are not usually barefoot, so there is that. However, these shoes felt comfortable at home trying them out before heading off to Mexico. That's where things got different. One trip from the hot sand and then beach walk to the resort and The strap that hugs my heel had worn my heel raw. Although I wiped as much sand off getting off the beach, it only takes a little to have the rubber strap grind with each step. I hope to have a better experience at home where beaches and sand don't exist!

Got these for a recent two week trip through Europe: lots of walking, from cobblestone streets to fjord bridge tops. Comfort-wise they were awesome - Keen-killers (that don't stink) - and the neoprene inner is like it was made for transatlantic flights. My biggest complaint is that the blue came with a 2-tone sole, with light blue on the bottom and dark blue above, where the sole meets the upper. After 2 days, the thin layer of paint used to cover the upper portion of the sole started to wear away. This was on the rugged streets of Rome (only slightly sarcastic). After 2 weeks, the paint loss is noticeable from a distance. I'm now deciding whether I want to return them for a replacement (that might do the same thing - why paint in the age of injection molded foam?), or just sand off the rest of the paint. Not the type of problem I'd usually expect from a Hoka shoe.

They are nice looking, but I was expecting more cushioning and orthotic support. And when wearing for several hours the ridges in the footbed irritate the bottoms of my feet.

I really enjoyed the shoes and the colors are amazing. The problem was with taking them to places with dirt and sand. The tightening mechanism wouldn't loosen easily anymore and I struggled to take off the shoes. If they can fix the mechanism to handle dirt, sand and other debris, these would be perfect.

all your shoes are too narrow and these are too hot, but otherwise the soles are comfortable so i endure painful little toes

The fit and size were fine. What bothered me was the stitching on the back of the heel that rubbed up and down when I walked. It felt like it wouldn't take long to wear a blister in that area. I am returning them for that reason.

Everything I've purchased from HOKA has been size 11, with this sandal I could barely get 11 on my foot and it hurt to walk in. Am returning it for a 12.

I got a blister on the back of my left heel, first day I wore them. Used the shoe stretcher and feels a little better, but still tight.

The Hopara shoes are great but they need to be bigger sizes so those of us who have bigger feet can enjoy them. I have size 15 feet and the regular sneakers are great but these need to come in 15 and then they would be great.

First of all, I LOVE Hokas. I have several pairs and wear them every day. I was excited to see a sandal version, but I think it has a ways to go before it is a good fit for me. However, I need sandals for a trip I'm taking I've tried just about every other brand out there, and even left wanting, the Hokas are the best option for me. I'll keep them, and look forward to an improved version in the future. One issue is that the footbed is really wide, both physically and visually. Typically we wear sandals with shorts, and these are not very becoming. They really look clunky. Second, the bed doesn't have quite the cushion I was hoping for. Not bad, but not that spring that I love about Hokas. Finally, an issue I often have with shoes is that the cutout by my ankle doesn't drop low enough. This means that my ankle bone rubs against the shoe. Obviously this is my anatomy, and Hoka can't suit every body perfectly. Perhaps there is a way to have some flexibility in that area to accommodate different feet.

Incredible design and build quality, but the sizing is terrible. I've had 3 other Hokas and 10.5 is perfect for me, but these squish my toes way too much to wear at all. So I tried an 11 and it's way too big. A real shame, as these otherwise feel amazing and are a great design, but I had to send them back.

While I do love these sandals, somewhat disappointed about the durability. Have had them for just right at 1-year and the laces broke. Unfortunately these are not user replaceable, nor does Hoka offer any replacement options. I've initiated a warranty return (1-week past the 1-year warranty) so we will see if they honor the warranty. More to come.

I ended up returning because they were very very wide. Uppers are plastic I’m sure to make the water resistant but still had a cheap feel. A little bit of an arch but not what I would’ve expected from Hoka.

I suffer from forefoot pain and the Hoka sneakers are the only shoes that take the pressure off that area. The rolling motion of the shoe bypasses the forefoot pressure. I was excited when I seen Hoka offered the sandals. At first glance, I thought they would fit the same as the sneaker. That cushioning rolling motion. The sandals do not have the rolling, cushioning feel as the sneakers. It feels like I am walking on a hard surface. I had them on for about 15 minutes and had to take them off due to forefoot pain. I put my sneakers back on and was in ahhh. I really wanted these sandals to live up to my expectations.

Too hard to put on. String system is a joke. Thought this was a "sandal' for cooler wear, but these are 'hot" in mild weather.

Compared to my old pair of Hoka Rincon 3's there is NO comparison! If you really like any of the Hoka brand, stay away from the Hopara!!
