Very stubborn button on one of the releases that allows footwear to be loosened/tightened. Otherwise, love the feel.

I wore these 2X so far. I wear them with "Swiftwick Aspire One" socks and they look and feel great. Combo of sox and sandals makes a great combo even when the they get wet and/or extra sweaty. Feels like they were meant to go together.

I almost always wear a 9 but had to return it for a 9.5 due to difficulty in getting the shoes on. I really like the open design without shoelaces. However, the cloth over the instep is too tight to get the 9 shoes on. Even with the rapid lace adjustments all the way out, I was limited by the cloth instep piece. The 9.5 is marginally easier to get on! I would recommend this shoe to a friend as long as they try it on first.

These Hoparas are my 10th pair of Hokas. Bought to replace my chacos, which I like but hurt my surgically-repaired foot. These Hoparas are probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever had on my foot. Not as cushy as my Bondis but for kayaking and how I will use them they literally could not be better.

These are great: well build, comfortable, water proof. My on,y complaint is that the lace elastic won't pull toght enough for me. I have a significantly narrower heel than my forefoot.

This sandal seems to have a bit more support than my Keen water sandal. It seems like a heavy duty sandal. My only criticism is that it lacks ventilation . My feet get quite hot while wearing them.

I bought these a week before a trip to Greece, looking for something I could wear in different conditions. So, little/No time to "break in", but, none really needed. Never used socks..no problem. wore on flight from Lax to Athens18+ hrs. , quite comfortable, shoes were light, and breathed well. wore next day on walk from hotel to to Acropolisagain , worked well. wore on modest bike ride on Mykonos to the sea, where We jumped off rock cliff into the Aegean sea. Swam with them. My Hoparas never left my feet that daythey really helped on climb out of water over lava rock! Worked well walking beaches too. easy on/off even when wet. Comfortable even with bunions Only minor/trivial knock was they took up a bit more room in small luggage than say thongs or sandals

I like the open sandal and the traction is great. They very strong shoes and I expect them to last a long time. I have some concerns as my little toe on one foot is getting a hot spot and I am worried it may break through over long distance walking which is what i bought them for.

Bought these for my Maui trip to do hiking. Brought these everywhere from water fall hikes, to walking on lava rocks to shopping and walking in Lahaina. Very comfy, great quality and fits well However, after the second day, I notice blisters because of my feet rubbing against the inside of the shoe. I had to wear socks with the sandals which defeats the purpose of walking in shallow water. Not sure if it's suppose to be like this.

My feet have felt great after wearing Cliftons so I tried the sandals to see if it's also good. It's much better than Skechers, Teva equivalents. But it's not a Clifton. The cushion is harder and my feet get tired more quickly. Still, it's more comfortable than competitors and it feels sturdy

there is a severe shortage of quality water/hiking shoes that come in wide. At one point i would always purchase your competition brand similar to this style, but they changed and now they do not have a wide toe box. I was hoping my favorite company (Hoka) would continue with their successful model of fitting wide feet but this did not the case. So close to a wonderful shoe but unlike most of your shoes it was too narrow. Most shoes do not fit the average foot well and folks squeeze into them doing damage to their feet and weakening the shoe. Please make this in a wide
I'd also recommend:
Keen, Clark, Teva

I've always bought Keen sandals, but wanted to try something new. The things I like better in the Hoka is that they have a nice arch support and they appear to be better made than Keens, but I'll need a lot more time to prove that. Tthey are a bit small (I usually wear a 10 1/2 and that is what I orderd, but these are tight, so I should have ordered an 11. Also, these seem to be a lot hotter than the Keen sandals.

So I have the Arahi 6 and Ora slides and they are the best things ever to be on my feet. I have worn Keen Newport H2's since they hit the market, so I figured this would be the best of both, Hoka feel with closed toed sandal. Well, almost. These do not have the cushion of the shoes or slide, but they are more cushiony and have better arch support than the Newport H2. The Hopara's are MUCH more closed in than the Newports, which do make them hotter to wear. The heel piece that attaches to the ankel strap takes a little getting used to, but does cut down on the flip-flop action of the heel making them fairly quiet. Where the outer attaches to the footbed by the arch, feels a bit too inboard and took some getting used to. The Hoka logo is cut a bit too deep into the heel of the footbed, and took alot of getting used to. Now that I have broken them/my feet in, they are comfy, and I can wear them all day with no foot/leg fatigue. I would reccomend these, but with the caveate that you may need to break them in. Do not expect to get them and just go on a long hike, or a day at an amusement park. A few tweeks, and these could be killer sanadals.

Very comfortable with just the right amount of cushioning and support. The foot surface is a little too tacky for my liking when barefoot, but other than that, I love them.

Heel is difficult to slip on. Pull tab on heel should maybe be oriented side to side like some lace up Hokas.

The closed toe sandal works great, fits excellent, is comfortable, and supportive. The only negative is the closure mechanism works but the "laces" are too flexible for a tight/snug fit.

I bought two pairs of these because I loved them so much. I wear them to do just about everything. They only con I have is the pull tab on the back is not reinforced well enough and all four shoes have a tear in the same area.
