I absolutely love these! Best water socks ever! Very stable sandal. Water drains right out when you out the water and doesn't track water in the house.

Bought the sandal for heel padding as I have Hoka running shoes that are well padded. These are doing ok but not like the shoes. Put powder in them as the plastic insole was kind of sticky when hit and sweaty. Getting better after a week. Also ok with light socks.

Tighter fit than same size Bondis. Not nearly enough cushioning. This shoe was great in concept but not as great upon delivery.

I wear my Hopara and trail runners for everyday use. I look forward to wearing both when I walk El Camino de Santiago Del Norte.

Extremely comfortable and great for a variety of uses - beach, hiking, washing the car and kayaking!
My first pair ripped after a couple months of use, but Hoka provided me with full refund.

I use this mainly for summer outings like going to the beach, amusement parks, anywhere with my kids. Very comfortable and perfect if I have to get my feet wet since they're washable and dry fast.

I chose the same size of Hopka as the Bondi 8's I bought last year, even though a wide size wasn't available. The width at this size is still adequate, and though I'd like to see wide and double wide in the Hopka, the way these sandals are working out leaves me thrilled.

The sandals are great! Best support you can have and they are very light. With that being said, I think they are a little over priced. A sandle shouldn't cost the same as a complete shoe. Overall they fit well and don't flop around or get rocks in them.

Very snug fit. Couldn't possibly wear socks with it (not planning to anyway). Hard to get on because of tight fit.

Mostly wanted to try these to help my leg & back pain. Comfortable, easy to put on and take off and look good but my feet get hot. Size runs small: normal size 10 had to be returned, 10.5 much better. Price seems very high. I'd only buy these again if there was a good sale.

i thought i would not. my wife has several pairs of hokas, but i wasn't sure. i thought i could wear my tennis shoes into the creek. but she bought them as a gift and i've been wearing. not only hiking to and in and swimming with them in the creek but here, there, everywhere. they've won me over!

The Kahana has been awesome on the trails in Crete and Santorini. Sand, small rock, boulders, concrete, this shoe is comfortable with it all. Supportive and aggressive tread. Comfy straight out of the box. Well done Hoka!

Bought these shoes before a trip to Hawaii hoping they would do double duty as water shoes and hiking shoes. They performed just fine on short "hikes" to waterfalls and rocky beaches but not so great on actual hikes.
I had good grip in the mud and on the tree roots as we made our way to each waterfall we went to. Kept my shoes on when I jumped in at each waterfall and these shoes did well. Stayed secured and dried out quick. I was able to climb all over jagged rocks at the rocky beaches we went to.
Then I went on a 4 mile hike in Volcano National Park and quickly realized that trail runners or hiking boots would have been a much better choice. I did not get blisters like other reviewers have mentioned but I did get dirt and pebbles between my toes multiple times. Had to stop and take my shoes off a couple times. As soon as my feet started sweating the insole became a little slippery and made an annoying squishing sound for the remainder of the hike. Diamondhead and multiple other trails confirmed that unless I was planning on going IN the water with my shoes on, these shoes were not the right tool for the job.
In summary: Good for short, wet "hikes." Good for cliff jumping. Good for protecting your feet and improving grip on rocky beaches. Not good for actually hiking. Unfortunately these ended up becoming an expensive pair of water shoes.

I have been wearing similar shoes from Keen and Teva for years! I must admit these fit and feel much better. We spend a lot of time on the beach and river and they are performing perfectly!

My feet seem to sweat, so I think that real leather inner soles would be better that using man-made materials. My feet would be cooler and breathe easier.

I walked about 5 hrs on the grass at the park. The heels feel good, but my the bottom of my two big toes are a bit in pain.
Am returning this order.

These seem like great sandals but I am forced to buy a size larger due to the Medium width. The arch makes them very uncomfortable.

Great HOKA quality. I'm sure they will hold up for a long time. A little on the big side. So I have to loosen they up to get them on and them retighten them to stop slippage. Once I get used to doing this routinely, I'm sure I will love them. I tried wearing sock legs with them but that's too much fuss.
