Just finished a week of high passes in the Sierra (Kearsarge, Glen, Pinchot, Mather, Bishop) under heavy load (w/extra 18 lb resupply for 1st day). Never felt the talus... very comfortable out of the box... just like my regular speedgoat trail runners. They did well on snow (w/out microspikes) and wet conditions... good grip. The body did well with abrasions and the extra ankle padding did its job numerous times with talus insults. A worthy foot tool. I usually wear a wider width shoe but the Speedgoats in standard width (size 10.5) have treated my feet very well in races up to 50 miles. These mid versions felt and fit just like my regular speedgoats... and the sizing/width questions below should be tempered by these comments. If you like regular speedgoats in any size... you will like these mid versions. I tried an earlier mid-Hoka and it did not fit... so happy these mid-speedgoats were available.

My boyfriend loves them. He has a large foot and has been suffering with plantar fasciitis and these were a game changer on our recent hike. Happy I made the purchase !

Always wanted the speedgoats now the are wide enough to fit my feet! Great trail running shoes. Stable. Waterproof. And the high top keeps debris out and provides stability for my ankle when running on non manicured trails. Will be buying another pair. Size is true. I wear 11.5 in every shoe and boot I own.

Perfect blend of trail running and hiking boot. Light weight and the sole design is made in a conducive running way. They feel good on the road and great traction on the hill.

Spent three days hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon. Shoes felt great. They are a bit more narrow in the toe box than my Bondi 7's so they were a bit more snug. I found that beneficial when hiking on trails.

I wanted a hiker to replace leather boots, resist water and have the protection provided by leather at a lower weight. These boots provide everything I wanted and look great. I have used them on several trails on the AT. I think my next pair will be a half size longer. My foot is narrow and on the down hills ( greater than 20%) it will expand in length and contact the toe box, which is not ideal but I can manage. I have them fit as tight as possible, but it is just how my foot reacts.
Overall they are really good for high speed hiking. I have not tried them while carrying any weight.

Im a Material tech in a huge hospital so I'm on the run all day. Averaging 12 miles a day bringing essentials to doctors/nurses/ER etc.
My speedgoats have changed the game. No more back, knee, thigh, calf pain from unforgiving concrete hallways.
No doubt I will buy them again.
Thanks Hoka

I use the shoes playing senior softball on all surfaces. I like the Gore-Tex for staying dry. Also the grip on the shoe bottom. I didn't like the insoles. I added insoles from a company called Sole insoles out of Canada. These together make a great shoe.

Bought them for trip to Park City a couple weeks ago - the only shoe I took. Comfortable on plane, for casual dinners, walking through snow, snowshoeing, hiking Capitol Reef. Please keep making them when I need another pair down the road!!

As a registered nurse I am always looking for a work shoe that will be comfortable on concrete floors for 12 hrs a day. Shoes like that are hard to find but HOKA has delivered. There is no terrain more demanding than the floor of an ICU and my Speedgoats show up every day and perform flawlessly.
I am a 5'10 F ordered mens 8.5
