Very impressed with this shoe. Excellent grip. Coming off a torn Achilles, I needed a waterproof shoe with good support for the winter - and it will pass for a business casual shoe. Also like the Clinton 7 which provides the best support for the Achilles.

I ordered a different pair, which were too tight. I exchanged them for these in wide, and they fit perfectly. The return and exchange was fast and easy.

The Speedgoat 4 GORE-TEX is my first pair of Hokas, and I could not be happier. I enjoy hiking more than running, and these have opened my world to a more fun and intense exercise routine. The Vibram sole is unreal - feels like magic. In places where, even in good boots, I have to be very careful with my footing, I can just attack in these. I wear the same size in these as I do in other sneakers (Nike/NB).

I got these as a promotional item, so I had literally nothing to lose. I had been looking at trail shoes, these looked greatI got them. Day one, I was blown away. Super stable, soft without feeling squishy, excellent grip. I have a pretty "meaty" foot, and I find there to be plenty of room. I've put about 80 miles on these so far, all on trails, and they are excellent. I've run in rain, sun, and snow, and they've always been up to the task.

I am very impressed with my new Hoka Speedgoat 4 GTX's. They look great, feel great, offer great support & hopefully they will last a longtime. I originally bought my usual Hoka size, but the Speedgoat 4 GTX were too tight. I guess that is because of the Gore Tex material. Zappos promptly exchanged my original purchase with the same shoe a 1/2 size larger and the new shoes feels wonderful. Kudos to Zappos and Kudos to Hoka One One. I give these shoes 5 stars.
I'd also recommend:
I also have Salomon, New Balance, and Brooks running shoes. Different shoes for different occasions.

As an industry user and former footwear brand leader, speed goats, referred to me by my friend and Guide from Chamonix France and a leading retailer in the outdoor space have exceeded my expectations. Specifically the fit function, platform, trail grip in a sense and dissents, has been Beyond what I expected. Thanks for the diligent design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of a fantastic product!

I was surprised how much cushion and shock absorption came in a pair of rugged trail running shoes.

I use the Speedboat 4 gore-tex for hiking and golfing. They keep my feet dry and comfortable in all kinds of weather and terrain. I have flat feet with bunions, the Hoka brand keeps me trekking

I bought these for a hike to Hemphill Bald in NC. I have 4 other pairs of Hoka shoes and getting a size 12.5 fits perfectly, however in these hiking shoes I think because they are Gortex and waterproof I would recommend getting them one-half size larger. Plus hiking 9 or 10 miles your feet are sure to swell so getting them a half size larger will help there as well. I recommend these for comfort and traction and for being relatively light for a hiking shoe. I would definitely buy these again, just a half size larger.

Several years ago my podiatrist recommended that I try Hoka Bondi walking shoes to relieve foot pain. Those shoes were a life changer. Since that time I have searched for years to find a shoe just as comfortable for golf. I live in the Seattle area which means plenty of opportunities for great golf, summer or winter. During the dryer summer months or when we head to Arizona to escape the real winter downpours, I simply lace up the Bondi 7's. But now whenever the weather turns damp and better traction is needed, I hit the course with my Speedgoat 4 Gore-tex shoes. Also, I wonder if anyone else out there checks out the shoes other folks are wearing. Just like waiving at other people riding motorcycles or driving the same type of car, I always greet a fellow Hoka wearer and compliment them for their smart purchase. Recently I noticed that Jim "Bones" MacKay was wearing Hokas while caddying for Justin Thomas in a recent PGA event. Did anyone else see that? Time to sign him up to endorse Hoka shoes for golf! One last thing, since I use orthotics, the removable insert is always thrown away. I'd love the option of ordering shoes without inserts in exchange for a small discount or to simply to cut down on waste.

I ordered these in wide, and they are too tight for my wide feet. Otherwise, they are fine. I will donate so someone with a narrower foot can enjoy.

During this COVID crisis I have moved from traditional hiking boots (Keen...) to low top trail running shoes. I have tried the Altra Lone Peak 4.5 and Olympia, and also the Hoka Stinson and Torrent 1. The gore Tex Speedgoat is then best for me for cushion, stability, fit, and performance. I use this everyday for two miles of hiking on woods trails rain pr shine. I am not a AT thru hiker so gore Tex is better for me. Love the cushion on the Hokas!

Bought to wear as hiking shoes on primitive rocky trails in Lakeway, TX. Much more stable with significant improvement in down hill traction, noticed immediately, than the running shoes I had been wearing. Goretex did make them a bit hot on 100 degree days. As weather has cooled to 80s, seem OK. Very comfortable and absorb rocks and roots with no discomfort. Have had about a month and see no signs of wear so far.

I buy tons of shoes online. It felt really narrow, esp my right foot. So I exchanged them for a half size larger, 11 -> 11.5. The new size feels great. Overall the shoe still feels narrow on my right ft but not near as bad as the 11s. However, I can walk 7 miles without blisters and without wear n tear on my joints and Im 58. So I'm keeping them.
